My Lenovo All in One desktop computer was basically dead… a black screen. I took it to David at JCJay Computer. He spent a good deal of time analyzing it by putting it through different tests. He assessed that the problem was the motherboard. He believed that it was defective before it even left the manufacturer, as the computer was only 2 months out of a 1 year warranty and had been used very little in that time, as I was not home much of the 1 year period. David even checked with 2 colleagues, who worked on the same problem with this model… both felt it was a motherboard manufacturing issue. I told David I was 2months out of warranty, and that I was doubtful the company would provide a free fix it service. David reviewed the approach I should use with the company and encouraged me to speak to someone in authority. He felt it was worth a serious effort. I did so, armed with David’s assessment of the problem, the corroboration of the other 2 technicians, who separately found the same problem with the same model, as well as David’s suggestions as to how to approach Lenovo. Well, I am happy to report that Lenovo considered my problem and ultimately decided to treat it as if it were still under warranty. They sent me the appropriate shipping box as well as a fed ex sticker for shipping. The first time they shipped it back to me, they had fixed a fuse, which was not the problem. The original problem immediately reappeared. At no cost to me, they took the computer back and finally installed a new motherboard, which was David’s ordinal diagnosis. David does not even work for Lenovo, but he was better able to diagnose the problem very quickly, than the technicians working at the Lenovo repair center. David was most supportive and helpful. He boxed the computeer for shipment and copied my hard drive files onto a flashdrive. David is an amazingly competent technician and goes beyond to help his customers. He saved me $ 750.00, which was the price of the Lenovo computer. I highly recommend JCJay Computer repair, and David in particular. For all this, his fee was more than fair.

Excellent experience here having my laptop upgraded. Service was excellent. Price was very fair. I looked up prices on NewEgg for an SSD drive so I knew the price range. I don’t know if they get their parts much cheaper but when I did the math in my head I couldn’t figure out how they were making a profit! They also offered to have my laptop fixed same day and they called me as soon as it was ready.
I was so satisfied that when I went back to pick up my laptop I brought them a family member’s laptop as well. I assume some people reading this might not be too computer literate, and others might be IT specialists. I have pretty good experience with both repairing computers myself (desktops mostly and I am competent in replacing hard drives and memory in laptops, as well) and dealing with computer repair and IT services. This place really does rank among the top of all of the places I have dealt with since 1995.

They were nice, and worked quickly, but this review is mainly based on the lemon of a hard drive they sold me. Today I was just told it was garbage — only two years and three months after they installed it. Very disappointed. I’ve never had a hard drive go bad that fast. Update: Hard drive was poor, but to be fair, I found out it was Western Digital (!!!). Not sure what happened. I stand by the comment that I’ve never had a drive go bad that fast — in fact, I’ve had drives last five years plus, easily. The drive was failing so fast, I had to repeatedly run chkdsk on it, and it kept showing bad sectors. It was impossible to clone, so I lost some of my executable programs. :(Not a happy day. The owner reached out to me and was nice (I talked to him) but unfortunately I’m still out $ 271. Upgraded this from 2 stars to 3 because it does appear to be a brand-​name drive, and owner did apologize. Still, the drive was pretty bad.

Took my 8 year plus desktop computer because the hard drive had stopped working. David looked up at my computer and saw that it was like in new condition even after 8+ years. He told me right away that the hard drive was damaged and looked inside the case and pointed out to me that most of the system was in perfect working condition and all I should do was to install a new Solid state hard drive and upgrade the ram. Since I am not into playing video games the 8 year+ video card was working fine and David advised me to leave it alone.
We discussed that I wanted to upgrade my computer to Windows 10 since it was running Windows Vista and I think it was about time for me to bring my computer up to date. We decided to install a 256G Solid State Hard Drive + a secondary 500G Hard Drive.
David explained to me from the beginning that it was a possibility that whatever was in my old hard drive could not be safe. He was also shocked that my hard drive had worked for so many years when the life spam is usually from 4 – 5 years at the most. Although I had backed up most of the important stuff that was there some stuff I knew that I will have to kiss it good bye. I asked him how many days will he need to work in the computer and to my surprised he told me that he will have it ready in the afternoon, it was 10:30 am when I dropped off my computer and by 4:30 pm David called me to tell me that it was ready. I went to pick up my desktop computer around 5:30 pm and David gave me the best news I can hope for. He was able to saved all my data from my old/​damaged hard drive and when I got there he was just finishing transferring the data to the secondary 500G hard drive at no extra charge of the price agreed which it was much less than purchasing a new computer because the night before taking my computer to David I was just one push of a button away from ordering my new computer which it was going to cost me $ 1100 from Dell. For around one third of what I was going to pay Dell, David turned around my 8 year old computer and it is performing perhaps better than the $ 1100 desktop I was going to buy from Dell.
I have to honestly say that David is the most «HONEST» AND «KNOWLEDGEABLE» computer repair person that I have ever met. That is why I continue doing business with him. He will not try to sell you a new computer if you don’t need one nor he will try to tell you to change something if it doesn’t need to be change. I highly recommend JCJay Computer and most of all David. Thank You so much David.

First time customer, thought my whole computer was fried. He looked at it and within two minutes told me what was wrong and told me to buy a new case because he showed me how I basically ruined the headers of my case. — With NO CHARGE. He opened it up and tested it for free. I brought him a new case from micro center in flushing, and he installed all my new hardware in a brand new case with a new operating system for 130 bucks.
In short. 130 for professional installation. New operating system, and the peace of kind that your pc is feeling clean and new.

It is sometimes hard to find a good, honest, car mechanic. This of course goes double for computer repair technicians. JCJAY is that mythical creature, good, honest, knowledgeable repair from a technician who will put your interests first… a very rare find in the computer tech world. Bravo.

Went here to replace power supply for computer. Other repair shops wanted over $ 100 for parts and labor, but JCJaY did it for $ 75, tax included.
Friendly and professional service. Overall I very much recommend.

I had a problem with the power button on my computer and brought it here for repair. The young gentleman was very friendly and helpful and fixed my PC very quickly. He suggested some upgrades to my boo oops I meant PC since it is quite old (had it about 5 years now) and I agreed to a new video chip. The total price for the repair and upgrade was under $ 150 and most importantly completed on the same day. I had an issue with the sound after it had been fixed and I took my boo back and they repaired my sound at no additional charges. I am a very satisfied customer and hope I dont have to return any time soon but I would in a heartbeat.

Had a problems with my laptop. This place made it as if it was new, as if I just bought it. The people are good, they know their stuff, also made me real comfortable leaving my laptop in this place. Also another thing I liked is that the price was a flat rate. (before I went to this place I went to another place that the price was $ 80 per hour, and the guy told my it could take 1 hour but no more than 2 hours.)
I got my computer, it is working excellent, its clean, and its fast as if it was new and I am satisfied with the work that they did with my laptop.
I recommend this place.

Had to use these guys because my computer had a MAJOR spyware problem and they were the sweetest most patient people ever. In about three days time I had a completely spyware free computer, some more memory, and a clean computer (I don’t dust it ever). I’d totally go to them again in a heart beat.
Also, they moved down the block to a bigger location!
