Pretty average deli. They have a lot of options, but the food is pretty meh. And the signs all over that say«we’re not responsible for your belongings if they’re stolen» doesn’t exactly help me feel like it’s a great place to eat…

Decided to try this joint only because it was near my hotel and my feet were killing me. Walking in, it comes off like a deli meets buffet all-in-one nonsense restaurant. I decide to order a bacon cheeseburger with fries to go. Back at my hotel, I start chomping on the fries. They are among the best of the best. The burger? While just a tad overdone for me, the meat with bacon and cheese — and the yummy toasted bun — easily a top 10 burger. If I had more time in NYC, I’d eat here again. I’m sure I’ll be back! My total with a bottle of soda was $ 10 too! Great price!

I’ve stopped by here a few times for breakfast before work and every time the cook has messed up my order. I think he really just don’t give a fuck a makes whatever he feels like. The atmosphere is generally pretty dark in the place. Every time I’ve gone into the place its been empty and I think«how is place still open? they must laundering money!». But even with the messed up orders, they’ve still taste pretty good.

The food that is not awful is pathetic. Anything beyond that is mediocre. The onion rings were inedible. The broccoli was awful. The rest of the food was only fair. The tables were dirty. And on top of that, the food was not inexpensive. This review pertains to the buffet.

This is my favorite place for lunch. I go here almost every day, while my coworkers order from Seamless. You walk in, and there are several different stations for different kinds of food. No matter what you’re in the mood for, they probably have something for you. I really like the salad station, but when I’m feeling for something more savory I pack in some amazingly crispy baked chicken wings into a styrofoam take-out box with a vegetable(varies every day… some days grilled asparagus, some days brussels, some days kale), then go over to the meat station on the other end and ask the nice guys behind the counter to pile in some sausage and peppers, bacon, or roast park slices into my styrofoam take-out box. And this massively filling meal comes out to about $ 7 – 8 usually. Amazing. The guys at the meat counter are awesome and friendly. It can get pretty busy over lunch, but lines move quickly. It fulfills my lunch needs. I like it a lot better than Essen. Jazzy’s for life.

Its a good stand by for lunch in the neighborhood. It won’t break the bank like some other places. They have a salad bar, sandwiches, hot meats area, the grill and my fav. the Korean soup area. I stick with the basic beef ramen soup –they pack it with veggies and meat. Tastes fantastic for $ 7.50. They also have a large seating area by the window.

EW. I tried korean style seafood tofu soup(soon du boo), I saw the guy making the soup with a large scoop of MSG in my tiny tofu soup!!! so I asked him I do not want it anymore, then he yelled at me in chinese, and I never went back.

Decided to try their Korean station and try the beef. I have to say that it was very good! I originally wanted the Chicken Teriyaki but they were out so I went along with the beef. For less than $ 10 I got a very nice portion of beef, plenty of salad, rice, and miso soup. This definitely kicked Jazzy’s up a notch… my only advise to management is that the Korean station is in an odd location.

Their sandwiches/salads/hot foods buffet are standard. I like that they have salmon at the buffet sometimes and their salad bar is cheaper than some of the other delis in the area. All that would just give it 3 stars, but I tried their bibimbap with beef which bumped it up a star. It’s $ 10 and you get a decent amount of food and the beef is pretty tasty.

On a normal day I’d give Jazzy’s three stars. Basic lunch counter fare in one of the few remaining lunch counters of its kind(and I do enjoy the slight time warp feeling of walking in.) If you work nearby, you learn to appreciate the small things, like the sesame seeds on your burger bun or that basil salad dressing that’s impossible to recreate at home. But today is no normal day. Today, I ordered bimbimbap from their new Korean counter – opened, no doubt, to compete with the Korilla truck that plants itself outside their door every Tuesday. And let me tell you, this is a game changer. Ten bucks(incl. tax) got me a huge bowl of spicy veggies, a fried egg, and a few ounces of well-seasoned spicy pork, plus miso soup, a bowl of rice, and a cup of Korean barbeque sauce to pour over the top! I wasn’t even expecting the latter three things! I couldn’t even get through it all(not for lack of trying) and I’m still full. Way to go, Jazzy’s. P. S. They have ramen now, too. Keep that in mind when cold season hits.

Its okay! Good for a quick fix if you can’t decide what to eat for lunch!

Like that stalwart wing man you can always count on in a pinch, Jazzy’s stands boldly on Varick Street, despite all the manic foot and Holland Tunnel traffic that pummel them every M-F. Jazzy’s isn’t a trophy wife, but more a solid team player and a faithful partner, upon whose bosom you can rest your hungry or thirsty head. You can typically count on what you’re going to get here, be it their solid make-your-own salad bar, the cold sandwich station or hot food grill. They also have a hot/cold smörgåsbord buffet, which can be hit or miss depending on the day’s offerings. Overall, it’s not the best, but there’s a good variety on offer, prices are reasonable, and it never seems to be terribly crowded, which is key if your time is limited. I’ll always respect you, Jazzy’s!

I’m surprised at some of the low ratings this place has received. It makes me wonder if they’ve stepped it up a notch in the last couple of years, or if I just have different taste from other reviewers. I can’t speak to the salad bar, and the hot/cold buffet is pretty average. In any case, I’m a fan of the hot sandwich combinations here, which is what I’m basing my review on. I’ve had the Gipper, Al Pacino, Clint Eastwood, the Tiger, and several other of their creations, and I’ve enjoyed all of them. At times I’d prefer the cashiers to be less curt, but their way of working does ensure that the line moves incredibly quickly. As a matter of fact, I’m about to head to Jazzy’s for lunch!

Maybe the worse deli in New York. This place has the poorest attitude ever. Totally rude counter help who really don’t want to be bothered with, you know, customers. I never got around to eating here because they couldnt be bothered to wait on me.

The salads are great, although the two lines thing is confusing sometimes and you end up waiting longer than people who come after you. Everything else there is just OK.

Whats remarkable about Jazzys is how unremarkable it is. It does alot of things ok, but nothing truly great. You can find better burgers, better salads, better sandwiches, a better buffet in different locations. But can you find average representations of all these things under one low roof? I challenge you. I work nearby so ive been here quite often. Id never come here on a day off though. Nothing stands out. Nothing that I dream about at night. But then again I dont dream about work either. So there u have it. A mundane effective lunch place to fit into your mundane scheduled life.

Methinks not is right. Their salads are the only reason to go here, and even those are subpar at best okay if you’re in a work rush but don’t stop here if you’re looking for a good eat. Everything I’ve ordered from the deli has been a waste of my time. It takes FOREVER even if you are the only customer, the staff are rude and act like it’s a huge chore to make your meal. I only eat here when I can’t at my usual place. It’s also stupidly expensive for what it is.

This place is good to get certain food fixes you may need. However the staff there is not friendly at all. They just aren’t happy, and I’m guessing its from a bad work environment because you go to other places near this one and the people are happy, smiling. If you do not care how you are treated by the staff then the food is very good. I would do 4 stars based on just food alone.

I can’t believe in my two years of working in this area that I never went here! That has now changed! I’ve been twice as of this review. The first time I went I ordered just a simple cheeseburger. As I watched it cooking, the burger suddenly burst into flames at least 3 feet high like some crazy ass demon being cast back to hell. It. Was. AMAZING!!! That said, as much as I love my burgers spontaneously combusting, I feel like they left it on the grill for just a tad bit too long. I like my burgers well done, and even I thought it was a bit too dry. Which backs up claims by other reviewers that they are infuriatingly slow here. There definitely wasn’t a sense of urgency during the height of the lunch rush hour. Regardless, although dry the burger was still quite tasty and came packed with fries for $ 6. I could barely finish the burger! So much food! On my second visit I tried the Philly Cheesesteak(which multiple people were ordering immediately after I ordered my burger the first time). The cooks moved a lot faster today, and even though it still took a few minutes to make, I could rest assured it was because everything was started from scratch. Man that was a good cheesesteak! Again, so much that I(and people who know me, know I can eat) could barely finish it. I got through a little over half of the sandwich before I was stuffed! Again, $ 6. Not bad. There is so much to chose from here. They have a salad bar, coffee bar, buffet bar, grill, pasta bar, etc etc etc! There’s plenty of seating available too; at least at the time I normally go to lunch(1−2pm) Definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area!

If you want a pre-made — badly heated — sandwich, then this is the place for you. I’m actually being pretty harsh, because they have cold sandwiches and salads that may be good, but my luke-warm panini was very disappointing… There are just too many places in this area to try for me to come back. Also, $ 7 was way too much for that.
