It was insanely crowded and the Japanese section of the street fair was only one block long. Every food stand had really long lines, and by the time I got there(maybe 11am or 12pm) many had sold out of some items. There were also tons of weeabos running around in cosplay, sadly more-so than people in traditional Japanese attire. My fiancé and I got riceballs from a stand but didn’t stay very long because of the crowds. I suppose it’s our karma for not getting there when they opened. I’d go back next year, but I wish it was bigger and that the lines were more organized.

What i kept saying at the fair was not«this tastes sooo good» or «the services are soo nice», though both are true. what i said most was«this is sooo sad». think abt it, just across 39th street, visible from the fair, is another mediocre, run-of-the-mill neighorhood fair that features corn on the cobb, italian sausages and generic fruit juices. Yet the other fair spans 5 blocks and and virtually no line. back to the Japan block fair: long time that folds 4 times! some shops were sold out just half way into the fair… oh, and moving along the block without bumping into someone was just a miracle. Bottom line is– make it a multi block fair next year!!! the plathora of Japanese restaurants in NYC definitely deserves more space than that generic neighborhood fair

It Is Quite Mediocre. Not A Big Fair at All. It’s Literally One Block. The lines are forever slow and long trying get any Japanese food… Plus, the street is too narrow. Over crowding. I do not feel they organized this well at all. I am literally still waiting on line to get rice ball, which by the way the only thing I am still trying to get since I have been here at 1:00pm. I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you enjoy long slow lines.
