i had a birthday party at Jadis and cannot say enough nice things about it. First, my balloons were delivered without me realizing they were already there. When I arrived the staff had set them up really nicely around the room. They went so beyond what they would ever need to do to accommodate our group. I HIGHLY suggest Jadis if you are looking for a fun place to have a party.

Such a great spot — how do people not know about this? It’s a lower-level French wine bar with a garden, and cozy couches in the back. You could do so much worse. We shared a great bottle of red and a sparkling white, plus lots of different appetizers — crab cakes, bruschetta, chorizo and a tasty meat and cheese plate. They were out of the cheese I wanted, which is why I’m docking a star, but I will definitely be back.

Small cozy place, came for happy hour(cheaper wine or something to that effect). Girlfriend got wine, I opted for beer. Jadis really needs to improve their beer selection to complement the amazingly delicious small plates they serve. Beer selection has actually prevented me from returning, however the happy hour wine and food has brought back my girlfriend with her girlfriends many times. I have concluded that they wont change the beer lineup since it doesn’t really effect their bottom line. Ordered various small plates. Mixed olives and charcuterie & cheeses. Great pricing structure and well chosen products. All were delicious and presented nicely. Escargot was nicely drenched in butter and garlic. Meat itself was ok, but when butter is involved all you’re really looking for is a vessel to carry butter into the mouth. In this case, snails. Bacon wrapped scallops, nicely wrapped. Scallop was slightly over cooked, but it’s happy hour, probably the C chef was back there, so Jadis gets a pass and we get what we paid for. Leading us to the two best things here. Ham gruyère panini, pressed nice and firm. Good crunch on the bread, slightly melted gruyère, and warm ham. Ham and cheese combo works anywhere and works here as well. Carrying forth from that idea, bacon and gruyère quiche(Lorraine on the menu) is easily one of the best quiches I ever had. I don’t eat many quiches but when I want to, I think of this one time I ate the Lorraine quiche, cause ya know, no beer to pair it with.

Came here this past Sunday for a friend 30th bday. What a cute place. I was expecting it to be packed but no, it was nice and roomie. There were 11 girls and we had a blast. The food here are obliviously the small plates kinda food. The birthday girl had ordered before hand so the food just kept coming. Cheese board — not a cheese person so I only tried here and there and they were pretty good. Meat board — love the pulled duck and pâté. Well I like pâté and as long as you know how much to put on ur bread, you will be fine. Some friends don’t like it too much. Well more for me. Haha Crab cake — must try! Soooo good! You can def taste the crab Bacon wrapped scallop — yum! Scallop cooked perfect not chewy Quiche Lorraine — pretty good but I had better Quiche asperge — not bad but when it’s cold it didn’t taste too good. Mushroom truffle risotto puffed — yummy!!! Too good to missed. Bruxelles — yum! Delicious Provencale — not bad The wine selections were awesome too. I love it. Especially love the kir. If you guys are Malaysian or know this drink called Ribena, it tastes like that but with white wine. Well it is blackcurrant liqueur with white wine or if you like champagne, try the kir royale. Btw, our server was awesome too. Didn’t get his name but he was nice and def patient enough to handle 11 chatty girls. Haha. Would I come back. Sure not on daily basis but once in a blue moon kinda thing.

We absolutely enjoyed our time at Jadis! We came on a Wednesday night for wine and bites, and the restaurant was fairly empty but did have a few visitors — just how we like it! I walk by this place on weekend nights all of the time and they appear to always be really busy, so it was exciting that it was pretty quiet and low key. I was surprised by how large the space is. In the front there is a cozy bar and lots of tables, and in the back are couches and larger tables. The atmosphere was great, a comfortable theme with a lot of charm. We were completely blown away by the service! The bartender tended to our table, and he could have been more attentive or friendly! He allowed us to take our time and provided excellent food and wine recommendations. For food we ordered Mac and Cheese bites and a flambee with squash. We also ordered the charcuterie board with pecorino and Pierre Robert cheeses, and garlic sausage and beef. The food was all extremely tasty! This is the perfect place to come during the week, and truly enjoy the wine, food, setting and service with a good friend.

We came across this place while doing a random search for close wine bars while out. It seems like it gets more of a local crowd than rando’s coming in, but I like that… even though I was a rando. The atmosphere is nice and rustic looking. It made for a comfortable great place to talk with friends and have a night out without needing to go crazy. The happy hour deals were pretty good, and the food smelled great. We had a little snack and were happy with our choices. I would go back if I’m in the neighborhood again.

Came here for dinner in a Friday night because a host of other places in the lower east side were full. Food was so good! We ordered the cheese board with the lamb, duck rillettes, Pierre Robert cheese and reblochon cheese(we love soft cheeses), bacon wrapped scallops, escargot, mushroom truffle risotto puffs and Lorraine quiche. Cheese & meat board, bacon wrapped scallops and risotto puffs were the highlights of the meal and unique to this restaurant. The escargot and quiche were good but you could get the same dishes elsewhere. Ambience was casual. The interior is dimly lit and lined with brick walls. There are large communal tables in the back open to groups of diners to drink, eat and even play board games. All in all would definitely recommend this cute spot in LES

Such a quaint and cozy spot… great wine selection, and the tapas were delicious… the bacon wrapped scallops melt in your mouth, the Mac and cheese tarts were delicious and the beet salad was also very good! Definitely will come back, great spot to just relax and enjoy great wine.

Hello wine bar. Decent selection of wines with emphasis on France(good) and some fun oddball regions like Georgia(the country, not Atlanta). They serve a decent selection of small plate food — would probably do a meat and cheese platter again. It’s a long, but tight space so when people roll in for birthday parties there, it can get a bit loud, but that’s why you in the EV, yes?

What an awesome little place! They have a super cute sitting area all the way in the back, with couches and chairs. However, we set at the bar because it was going to be just drinks and appz and then off to dinner at another place. The food is made in front of you at the bar. The guy was good with all the orders and super fast. Appz: we got the meets and cheese — Serrano Ham, Duck Liver Mousse, Brie Goat and Manchego. And we had to get the Escargot!!! Fantastic choices, because everything was delicious. You can get as much bread as you want too! Of course we got some vino, which was great too. We went with Sauvignon Blanc. I would recommend this place for any occasion: dates, girls night, business meetings etc…

Nice ambiance and delicious tapa style food. The steam artichoke was fun and it is like edamame that you can talk and eat it for a long time. We also like the mushroom pastry and the bacon wrapped scallops. It is a good and relaxing place for friends to catch up and chat. But less a dinner place to get very full ;)

I think every person in New York has their neighborhood bar… their staple for when they are feeling lazy, want something safe and familiar, or when it’s pouring down rain or snowing. Jadis is this bar for me — right around the corner from my place. I love it. It has everything one needs in a neighborhood bar — comfy couches, candlelight, a good«bar» menu with lots of small bite options, and a decent wine list and happy hour. I really enjoy sitting at the bar watching the cook prepare everything using a small amount of counter space, a mini fridge, a convection oven and a hot plate(it’s really quite incredible what comes out of that«kitchen» all things considered). They are generous with their cheese plates(seriously, no one puts that much cheese on one cheese plate), there are a handful of wine options for happy hour, and they have some very well done healthy options(great salads!). Some of my favorites include the brie goat, their quiches, the salad with quinoa, and the bacon wrapped scallops. For a quaint evening in a cozy wine bar that won’t break the bank, Jadis is lovely. Every time I’m in there I see at least a few people sitting there solo with a good book and a glass of wine. It just feels like a welcoming neighborhood bar and not the shoulder-to-shoulder, loud madness you will find in much of the LES.

WARNING: $ 15 «service» fee plus 20% tip if you want to celebrate your birthday here and have your own birthday cake. I came here with a group of friends celebrating my friend’s birthday. The wine happy hour was a pretty good deal, each of us ordered some food and they are pretty delicious as well. One star for the food & drink, one star for our server. She is actually really nice. My feeling for this place dropped down when we went to our server and asking her if she can get ready the birthday cake we brought with us. We were told there will be a $ 15 charge(add 20%, so that’s $ 18) for them to «serve» the cake, aka take the cake out of the box, put the candles(we brought) on the cake, bring out the cake, serve the cake. At a place makes $ 10 sandwiches and salads! Wish I could make money that easy! Of course we said no in the beginning, then the lady told us we can take the cake back if we don’t want to pay for it. But what else can I do? Our server explained that they charge for us having outside food here. ITWAS A FREAKINGBIRTHDAYCAKE! Does Jadis offer birthday cake there? NO! It’s not like we are bringing in deli sandwich and trying to save money during the happy hour! Anyways that thing totally killed the mood for birthday celebration. So many rules at this place that I am actually wondering do they even welcome customers or not(I am totally fine with each individual rule, but altogether it just gets super annoying): — no tables for you unless you order food — $ 15 minimum on the card — 20% service fee on group over 6 — the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard, $ 15(plus 20% tip on this service fee) mandatory fee for«serving» your own birthday cake Yes the ambiance is cute and the food & wine is pretty good. But I’m not coming back for such a place that wants to take every penny out of my pocket.

An intimate French wine bar with a good wine list and intimate setting. We tried the escargot, bacon wrapped scallops, mushroom truffle risotto puffs, and some of the mixed cheese plates. Overall everything was good meaning the service and the food. I wanted to get another plate of bacon wrapped scallops.

Cute, homey, intimate little place dimly lit with candles and furnished with couches, cozy tables, and exposed brick walls. We came here after dinner to continue our date night and it was just the perfect place. They have a list of select wines that, for the most part, can be ordered by the glass, carafe(equivalent to a little over than half a bottle), or a full bottle. They also have choices that are only available by the bottle. We ordered a carafe of the Padrillos Malbec– a dry Argentinian red wine. It was delightful; strong, fruity notes yet still smooth and not at all overpowering. The carafe was perfect for the two of us. It came out to be about two glasses each which was just right to end our night before grabbing dessert. The service was friendly and attentive. Though we sat at the bar/counter it still felt intimate. I also had a chance to peek at the servers in the midst of their food preparations, those cheese plates looked mighty tantalizing! I definitely will be back. Can’t wait to try some of their small plates as well as the charcuterie and of course, more vino!

Pistachio Panna Cotta Tucked away on a small side street, Jadis is a deep cavern of small plates, desserts and wine. The back is adorn with sofas. The front is filled with small tables. A bar counter connects the two. Jadis is made for quiet evenings with two to four close friends, chatting over bottles of wine. Feeling under the weather, I opted for the dessert. The pistachio panna cotta is creamy, in between a flan and a crème brûlée. Fresh blueberries and strawberry jam provide additional sweetness. There’s so much to like here. Dinner is an inevitability.
