This is hands down one of my favorite Southern comfort food restaurant in NYC. I must give everyone a warning though — you will want to throw up when you leave… but in a good way(if that makes sense). The food is really heavy, and you’re going to want to try eating everything on the table, so… BEWARE. The first time I went, I had the buffalo mac & cheese, beer, and the biscuit sausage gravy. Yea… I was dying for the rest of the night. The highlight of my Jacob’s Pickles trip — THECHEESEGRITS. Wow. Oh. Wow. if I lived around the area, I would just always stop by for this alone. This place is definitely worth the truck up to UWS. Vibe wise, it’s very chic. Would I recommend this place? Why would I not? I would just say. be careful about over ordering LOL

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! SOGOOD. This was my first time eating here because the wait is normally so long. Pro tip: show up at midnight… for dinner! My group of 3 went to a 10p Saturday comedy show nearby and walked the few blocks over to Jacobs Pickles after the show ended. Bar was busy but tables were available and kitchen was fully open. We were ravenous so ordered a ton and everything was amazing. Fried pickles Green tomatoes Honey fried chicken biscuit sandwich* Burger with pickles and caramelized onions** Side of Mac n cheese *chicken is out of this world **comes with so many amazing pickles Everyone should try this place. Now I guess I have to tough the brunch line.

Excellent food, huge portions and this place won’t break your wallet. Why the emphasis on pickles I don’t know, but I’ve been twice and I have found plenty of dishes that don’t include pickles. Deciding what to eat may be difficult as there is a lot on the menu that is appetizing and as I saw food go by I was constantly trying to figure out what it was. I’ve had the french toast, I would definitely recommend it. I’ve had the Southern BLT biscuit sandwich, again I would definitely recommend it. The fried green tomatoes were great and the fried chicken was extremely flavorful and moist but at the same time not heavy. How they accomplish this I don’t know but it’s amazing. The cheese grits and biscuit are also good. I had a seasonal drink, the snow day. This drink was awesome, bourbon, clove simple syrup, muddled oranges and lemons topped with ginger beer. That was one of the best drinks I’ve had in New York.

Pickles with your burger? Sure, sounds great. Mountain of pickles with your burger? uh… We came here for a simple dinner. After we left, we realized this is better known for its brunch selections. We ordered: $ 15 Pickles & Cheeseburger with caramelized onions, hot sours, homemade mayo, fresh cut fries: I should have known from the name of the dish that this is more so a pickles with a side of burger than it is a burger with pickles. When I received the burger, I was surprised to see the all the pickles spewing out of the burger. There were so many I didn’t even know how I was to attack this burger. I ate as many pickles as I could until I stopped enjoying them. I usually do like crunchy tart pickles with my burger. These were an endless pile of thinly sliced slivers. Finally, I had to scrape off the rest of the pickles so I could taste the burger. The burger was fine, I guess. It came with a pail of fries & ketchup. I don’t care for fries, but Mr. Jo
