When planning a trip to NYC spend a little extra money and stay elsewhere. The location is nice and close to Times Square, the room was overall clean however the negatives far outweigh the positives. There is no parking at the hotel and you have to use a parking garage two blocks away, there is not an elevator so unless you are staying in one of the two rooms on the first floor you will have to carry all of your luggage possibly up three flights of steep, narrow stairs. The hotel is extremely muggy and hot with no a/c turned on. We turned the a/c on when we arrived and turned it as cold as it would go and it still never cooled completely. The bed is the hardest I’ve ever slept on, the two pillows they provide you are thin and uncomfortable, the light fixture in our room was broken and they provided no wash clothes in the bathroom. We will not stay here again.

If I could I would rate this hotel less than 0 I would. I came here for a business trip and had to cancel my employees reservation and replace it for myself. I sent them 3 emails and confirmed my cancelation 3 times. They are currently trying to charge me for my other room because they«have a 48 hour cancelation policy». The 3 times i called to confirm my cancelation a representative told me they would call me back and never did. Once I got here, the representative at the front desk(who doesn’t really speak english) was rude about my cancelation. The hot water in the shower did not work, and there were some super suspicious stains on my bed sheet. I wonder if my hot water will work tomorrow?

Limited services? I think not. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! Advertised as a limited services hotel, but the only service that was missing was an elevator. And that’s no big deal since they only have 4 floors. If you can’t walk 3 flights of stairs daily, then you might want to reconsider New York altogether. The only real negative was that the bed was hard, VERYHARD. We still managed to get sleep, but a softer bed would have allowed me to give a 5-star rating. Location is superb! Every cuisine you can think of within 2 – 5 blocks. Times Square and Broadway shows within a mile. Subway station even closer. The manager even went above and beyond. We arrived several hours before check-in time hoping to just drop off luggage. He had a room available so he just let us have it early. Perfect for an unexpected power nap after the red-eye we took to get there. Way to go Hotel Five44!

Hotel was small. Only about 9 rooms. 3 floors no elevators. Booked online. Wasn’t told construction right across street. So every morning our wake up call was very loud pounding at 7am. Stayed 3 nights a family of 4. Got to see all of what the city has to offer and not getting into bed till 12 or 1am then waking at 7 is a little irritating. Room itself was small but that’s New York. Beds were short but comfortable. Rooms look remodeled. Clean Location was good. Close to subways and food. If I were to be in New York again I’d stay here again only if construction was done.

Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. When I checked in, there is no elevator, but the front desk guy helped with my luggage. The room was small and the bed is short(if you are over 5 feet tall, you will have to sleep diagonally). There is no 24 hour front desk person, but that is OK, since the guy lives there. The bathroom had hair on the floor and shower. They provide a coffee maker, but no coffee. Currently, there is construction going on across the street, so beware of the noise level in the early morning hours. The bottom of the refrigerator had some kind of spill at the bottom. The trash is not removed on a daily basis. I stayed in a kitchenette, where the pots and cutlery were dirty. The free wi-fi is very shoddy. The only good things about the place were the clean sheets and towels. If you are looking for just an overnight place and you can deal with all that, fine. I stayed there for 5 nights and made it a point of not spending a lot of time there.
