Just an update. I still go here. The staff is so kind and helpful. They remember my favorite types of beers and even the ones they have recommended in the past. If I come in there with a style of beer, a brand or even a feeling they always manage to recommend the right one. If you live in the area and love beer I highly recommend getting their growler. They have an interesting and revolving selection of beers to fill up your growler. I’ve never had their sandwiches but they looks super good. If you have fancy beer needs this is the place to go!

European vibe. Great local draft beer. Cheese. Meat. I mean… what else could you want. Wait… phở. Add phở and I’ll help pay your rent.

After seeing a beer on beermenus, i head over to be told that I couldn’t buy the beer because its for their beer of the month club. Sucks to be me, I’ll take my business to beer boutique, eastern district, campbells, or the sampler. On the plus side they have a really good selection.

hungover and stoned. totally clueless on what to put in my stomach to make it thru this wretched, rainy day… and then it shines out to me like an oasis after being stranded in the desert«delicious sandwiches». that little sign in front of the bogart street L did a number on me and i’m glad it did. best sammy i’ve had in ages. oh and paired with an innis & gunn and out of this world pork rinds? don’t mind if i do. i literally want to eat and drink everything, all at once. Unilocal is pretty stupid, but if my 2 cents can help truly great places in my neighborhood like this thrive, then so be it. A+

I had the city ham a few weeks ago as well as an Ithaca NY ham. It was unreal how delicious both hams were. I’ve never bought meat like that before and the guy at the counter was super kind and helpful. Made amazing recommendations. Also, their beer growlers are a+++. Oh! If you buy some meat from here you have to get a loaf of the bread. I had some and I sliced and toasted it with a tiny bit of olive oil and the ham. So fresh so good!

It should be said that they make very good sandwiches with their very good ingredients. It should also be said that these sandwiches are rather small because of the small size of the bread.

This place is wonderful. I can’t help but stop here daily on my way home. They have Brooklyn kombucha, Brooklyn soda works, and various local/distant brews on top. They also have gourmet cheeses and hard-to-find craft brews. I am so happy to live so close to here. Be sure to get their growler; it’s a great deal since you get to try an array of beers on tap

Great addition to the neighborhood. Even though the store is small, they have a nice selection of beers on tap and fridges filled with beers, ciders and a couple of gluten free beers. They also have Kombucha BK on tap. The dry meat also looks good and the prosciutto they have is amazing! And of course cheese(not that much and a bit pricey but I’m sure excellent), chocolate, chips, pickles, etc. mainly from local places. Plus the staff is nice and helpful. 5 well deserved stars!

Glad to see places like this moving in to the hood. Some might be shell shocked by prices but thats actually what it costs to have higher end products around. In general I think these folks do a great job, the focus is definitely on the hops. There are a few small things I have issue with as I used to own a gourmet food store myself. 1. I have never been asked how I want my prosciutto cut or offered a taste to make sure its what I want. Traditionally it is cut thin, but good form requires asking before I commit. 2. Cheese is a bacterial culture. When you wrap it in pre cut pieces for its entire shelf life, especially those cheeses that have a bloomy rind, or have been washed, it kills the culture and they begin to have a plasticy aftertaste. All their cheeses has a sort of sad grey tinge. I would rather buy less quality cheeses like a grocery store cheddar that has been kept this way than a ruined croûton or brie. They do however do a nice job sampling products in their space, and in a pinch is nice to not have to cart everything back from the city.

I didn’t want to like this place. Really. I’ve been in the neighborhood close to 8 years and am bitter about prices going up and sneering 20 year olds. I wanted to add hops and hocks on list of things I hate. But I just cant. My boyfriend and I walked into an amazing beer selection. They were playing iron maiden. They had an amazing amazing selection of all our favorite stuff like popcorn, beef jerkey, chocolate. They even had fancy fucking marshmallows. The beer selection was enticing and I just want to give them so much of money. Oh gentrification.. why do you taste so good sometimes?

Cool little market for beer and charcuterie close to my house. A decent selection of West Coast microbrew, but at a pretty steep price. But a good place nonetheless

This place is great. All the trappings for a delicious night in. The beer selection in this small store is always changing and the staff is always helpful. Plus, if you did the may 14 beer of the month club you got a bottle of KBS. Can’t wait to see what is in the future packs!

The name of the shop is quite misleading in the hocks department if you ask me. Their cheese selection is larger than their meat selection. dont get me wrong, I LOVE cheese and appreciate a good dark beer, but I came here for meat and left with just beer. They should change the name to hops n cheese. Their beer selection is quite impressive and so is their cheese. but come on guys, lets get some actual meat up in here! Boars head is RIGHT next door… Can’t u guys at least get some of what theyvr got? Lol. I prefer free-roaming meat, but come on now… I wanted to walk out with some steak cuts, or chicken breasts, or even some sausage links! Not cold cuts… You guys still get 4 starts thought bc the staff was very helpful and the shop is tidy and clean!

When here a few times. The staff is pretty awesome. Tasted a few beers with my coworkers and I bought one of their refillable jugs. I have to refill it soon :)

Really awesome beer and chocolate selection. They have happy hours were you can refill your growlers etc. and I would keep an eye out for these. Hands down some of the best kombucha I ever drank was from here. Also a great place to get pâté, cheeses, snacks, the like. Great place to go if you want some local BK treats for a good night in or cheese and wine night. Loved the service here and they will answer all your questions, especially if you are not a beer drinker.

The selection here is great — I’ve explored their cheese options(good mix of sheep/cow/goat and raw/pasteurized) and their charcuterie selections. The pâté de campagne they carry is rich, peppery, and just over $ 4 for a ¼ lb. I’ve also brought home speck, prosciutto, and coppa — all of which were well packaged, delicious, and reasonably priced. They have lots of interesting sodas, chocolates, and candies for impulse purchasing. I can’t speak so much to the beer, but there is a lot of it, and my boyfriend seems happy with his purchases. This is another boyfriend-seems-happy purchase, but they get fresh Café Grumpy beans on Sundays. I’m so glad this place is in the neighborhood!

So happy these fine people chose to open shop in Brooklyn. Great beer selection in addition to cheese and meats.
