The concept is cool, but the execution is poor. The workers seem bored out of their mind and the kitchen doesn’t seem very clean. But hey, it’s fast food. I always call this place the Pinkberry of noodle soups. It’s an easy grab when you’re craving something soupy. You can choose a broth, a noodle and toppings. Don’t get Carried away because the toppings add up. I try different concoctions. It doesn’t matter what you choose, the broth makes everything good. Wish this place was better marketed, because the food isn’t bad the service and aesthetic is just off. Pros: food, price, alcohol, TVs Cons: not fresh, not busy

Meh, it’s like subway for noodles. They add the noodle and ingredients to the bowl and then pour over pre-made broth. Base price $ 3 then $ 1.50 per topping. One portion of meat has two or three small pieces in it. When I went at 1pm on a weekday it was pretty dead in the shop. They have a couple of rice dishes too though I didn’t try. One positive point, credit card is ok. I won’t be coming back unfortunately. I would recommend going to the noodle place at 1 Doyers Street just 2min away. It’s totally a hole in the wall but the noodle is great.

Eh. I can only begrudingly give this place 3 stars, only because there are no half stars and I am a little bit nicer compared to other reviewers on Unilocal.I had heard so much about Hong Kong Station and my friends all seemed to really like it, so my expectations were above the roof when I came here for lunch with my mom today. First of all, there are so many problems going on with the store. It is a bigger location than the one on Bayard, but the seats are so empty. The waiters weren’t very helpful when my mom showed them her $ 10 coupon from After looking at the menu, we ordered the Signature Combo(beef stew, fish balls, beef tripe, etc.) while my mom got the Pan Fried Noodles. It took about 5 – 10 minutes for us to both get our meals. At first bite, mine tasted really good, then started tasting very unpleasant. The broth was too salty and oily, and the noodles just tasted meh after a while. My mom’s noodles were pretty plain and without any toppings, and the bubble tea we also got had too much ice, sickly sweet, and the bubbles were slightly hard. Not my forte. Also, I have read previous reviews and found out that the prices went up by a dollar. Their motto says, «Create your own noodles at your budget», but how is that possible when noodles with one topping is already $ 5.50? In total, we paid $ 10.25 for everything including a can of soda(keep in mind that was with our coupon.) $ 7.95 doesn’t seem worth it for noodles served in a cheap, plastic bowl and with very little toppings. I could buy ramen at other restaurants with the bowl three times as large and still only pay $ 8. Even better, I could cook noodles at home with nothing to pay. On the plus side, the noodles made me full halfway through? The bubble tea really wasn’t that bad; it was refreshing after a while from drinking too-salty broth. The staff’s friendly banter with each other also made me want to spare its rating. Honestly, for all its worth, I would not come back to Hong Kong Staton again.

Food is okay if you are looking for a fast and cheap meal in chinatown. I love their hong kong milk tea which is very creamy! Their selection of noodles are good and soup base is tasty! The waitress behind the counter does not smile and look at you as if you did something bad to her! Please fire her and get someone that can smile to her customers!

Usually I love this place, today I still got nice and good taste food, I order the chicken mushroom soup, two drinks, saucy pork rice and stir fry soy noodles. So good with everything but when I almost finish the soup I found some steel wire in my mouth. And the I show to them, they just say: oh that’s when we wash the pot maybe, until I left l didn’t get any apologize ! I’m mad with this ! I didn’t ask for money back or something! I need respect !

Good foods. Authentic Hong Kong style cooking. Recently, they raised their price on everything. Not cheap to eat here for lunch when other restaurant is much cheaper. If they lose their loyal lunch crowds, I don’t think this business can survive much longer. Minus one star for raising their prices.

The restaurant looked very modern-esque in terms of its designs(White walls, LCDHDTV, and modern looking logo) which greatly shows off its cleanliness. I also love how you can make so much combinations of different things and enjoy it at a low price. For that, I bought the sweet and spicy ramen(with the Hon Kong imported noodles). with an ice coffee on the side. the noodles were fantastic. cooked nicely and very soft. There is one problem with the dish however, and that is the broth. The broth tastes like dollar tree Nissan noodle beef flavored instant noodles. The portions were also huge as all heck. I was halfway through and yet I felt really full . The coffee was just a regular ice coffee. Nothing really fancy about it . Overall, I may try out this place again but ONLY if I am in a hurry or they get more quality ingredients into their food instead of using Nissan powder like broth which ruins the value for your food and business model.

My mother in law took me here. The broth is so delicious. I had thin egg noodles. The bean curd thing is a must, so good! $ 5.50 for a bowl of noodle soup with 2 things added or you can do a combo for $ 7.50 with 5 sides.

What a disappointment. I came here for lunch with a friend I haven’t seen in forever. I asked the cashier if I could use a credit card and she said there is a $ 15 minimum, which I begrudgingly agreed. Finally after adding some sparse and mediocre ingredients, the woman goes, «Oh the credit card machine actually doesn’t work.» But points out there’s an ATM somewhere on this block. What. If it had not been for my friend, who already ordered her food and was waiting impatiently, I would’ve just left. I paid over $ 15 for some noodles, some fish balls, and veggies, and a terrible red bean smoothie. Probably the worst ramen joint I’ve visited in a while. Never again.

I bought a Groupon for the 2 noodle combos, 2 soups and 2 drinks. We had the seafood and mixed combo with the 2 types of soup, finny and a chicken. The soup and noodles were very flavorful and the ladies behind the counter were nice and informative. My taro bubble tea was also delicious. I can’t wait to go back.

Hong Kong Station is one of the most modern Cantonese restaurants in the entire city, insomuch that it draws on trends in dining in the Pearl River Delta that are happening right now. The signs are obvious. The décor isn’t dragon pastiche or barely-decorated hovel, this is a tribute to Hong Kong’s greatest achievement of the late-colonial era — the subway station. The colorful MTR signage and inexpensive white tables represent the keen eye for aesthetics on an Ikea budget that dominates the strips of restaurants on Hong Kong island’s south shore. The food is also modern, an attempt to bring the Hong Kong noodle soup into the salad bar age. Pick out a number of toppings, noodles and mix-ins, and then are quickly cooked in hot water. The ingredients look pretty sickly placed out on a countertop, which dried out pieces of meat and shriveled bits of tofu. There’s nothing particularly dirty, but there’s a layer of use that’s not present in the dining room era. Perhaps it’s best just to order based on pictures. Once prepared, however, the result is solid. The chili oil and egg noodles, with added fish balls, would be below average in Hong Kong but here makes the grade. Bonus points for the availability of some stranger ingredients, like organ meat and a variety of seafood balls.

First of all, I LOVE noodle places. I love that HKS offers the option to pick and choose whatever combination you want to make your own signature meal. This place is the best. Although we felt a bit rushed to choose our toppings, we still enjoyed the food immensely. Udon, Mai Fun, Rice Noodles, Ramen, etc… ANDELBOWMACARONI!!! They offer an array of delectable(and safe) toppings, such as Stewed Beef, Sausages, Veggies, Tofu, Fried Eggs, Chicken Wings and many more. Their moderately daring items are the Fish Balls, Squid, Fish Cakes, Spam, Crispy Fish Skin; for those of us without fear, they also offer Beef Stomach, Pig’s Blood, Pork Intestines and yummy Beef Pancreas. I can’t see any of these items not tasting awesome. I personally love the broth. They have garlic, chili and fish sauce to accompany your tastes and their drinks are also a nice addition. If you get a chance to try them out, get the Coconut Shake or the Lychee Green Tea because they ROCK.

Came here with a groupon for $ 30, and both had two large noodle bowls with 7 – 8 toppings, and bubble tea. They were out of tapioca bubbles, but replaced them with lychee jelly which actually worked pretty well with the milk tea. Definitely giving that combo another shot sometime. The noodle bowls were actually really filling, and the toppings tasted surprisingly good for being buffet-style(although they take it and cook the topping on the grill so it’s ‘fresh’). The broth isn’t the greatest thing in the world, but it’s simple and mixes well with most whatever you put in it. They give you some pretty solid portions of toppings. My favorite toppings to put in if you’re a hungry mofo like me: malay spring roll, fish cake, beef stew, green veggies, chinese mushrooms, two fried eggs, and the teriyaki-looking chicken! Just beware the SUPER slow service… All that said, the noodle bowls and toppings are pretty expensive. I’m not sure if I would go back for that, but I would probably check out their specials. They have specials for $ 7 and less usually, with some solid portion sizes.

If it wasn’t for the Groupon, I would of never go in for a meal because it’s expensive for the quality. $ 2.50 for base price for the noodles and additional $ 1.50 for each topping. How many of you will be satisfied with just one topping? Exactly. The amount they give is usually little. 4 pieces of radish is considered one serving? 3 pieces of Chinese meatball for $ 1.50? Ehh. However the amount of beef tendon and beef stew was generous which is weird considering meat is usually more expensive. Anyway with the Groupon, it’s totally worth it. 2 bowls of noodles, each with 5 toppings each and 3 drinks for $ 15. The drinks are good, they have other Hong Kong style snacks, the service is better than the one on Bayard, and the atmosphere is 100x better than Bayard. The workers here are much nicer but if you don’t speak Chinese then sure they will come off as rude. Well, that’s Chinese style for you all.

When I don’t know what to eat for lunch, I usually look to HK Station. The fare here is pretty standard. It’s cheap, quick and suitable for someone who only has 30 minutes for lunch(read: me). I’m not here for the service. I’m not looking to become chummy with the lady behind the counter. I don’t expect handmade noodles. All I need is a decent bowl of noodles. And that is what I get. I usually make my own noodles(udon or ramen, beef brisket, and spinach with all the fixin’s. I keep it simple). It always hits the spot. Their saucy pork and egg over rice is good. I like mixing it up so that the saucy pork and rice are married together in every bite. Whenever I stop by here for lunch, I’m in and out within 10 minutes. Can’t beat that!

I really want to like this place. The ability to have whatever soup you want with whatever toppings, with beer and TV’s blasting is something that you don’t have in chinatown. I guess that stuff makes me want to like the place and come back. The problems are numerous, though. The service isn’t great, and the process is a slow one(not totally their fault) so don’t come if you’re in a hurry. Another byproduct is people will muscle their way in line, since it’s such a long process. They have beer on tap, but don’t bother asking the people behind the counter anything about the beer. The meat and noodles you get aren’t very large for the price in chinatown. We had a living social deal, and did the math and decided it saved us about a dollar each. I’d give this place another shot, but I don’t think it’ll be a regular place for us. They’ll probably survive on late night people(if they’re open late) as there isn’t much of that in chinatown.

I love this place. I’m not as well-versed in beef noodle soup but as a soup-lover I can safely say this was amazing. The broth was incredibly flavorful, especially with the garlic chili sauce added! It’s really nice to be able to choose the toppings you want too. I ended up going with everything an old man would order. beef pancreas, beef stomach, pig foot, fish balls and greens. The thing egg noodles I received were amazing as well. They didn’t become«mush» by the end of the meal. I would definitely go back to have this again!

I can’t believe I’ve never had hong kong station. I guess I was always turned off by the one on bayard street; always packed and busy. So I finally gave it a try. I had a Lunch I special, which was ramen with ham and egg. It also came with a drink, so I had the black tea with lemon. Total was 4 $. Great deal! And after looking at the men while eating, I was quite impressed with the choices that you could make. Def, will be going back.

First experience as the Power of One was so in the mood for Chinese comfort food of noodles. Being accustomed to my daily lunch hour of 4pm at my workplace, including on my off-day after Canto and Mandarin classes, it was no different. Hong Kong Station reminisce me of lunching with my mom and Auntie in Causeway Bay or Victoria of noodles within a very reasonable budget to foot today’s ailing economy. The dinning area is immaculately clean as the wait staff does not usher patrons to scarf down their meal in turning over the table for the next party. My total bill of Mango Green Tea and Udon Noodles is $ 6.95, surprisingly I was not charged NYC sales tax – even better.
