SO I know im a hard person to scare. I did not get scared in this, BUT i had a very fun time! From an artistic perspective this was like an installation piece on the senses, pushing the imagination and senses to the extremes, and warping what your mind knows about reality. Well done guys. A few suggestions for next year so I can give you 5 stars. Experiment with sound more, sound can be the scariest sense, and although there was a lot of breathing… and silence… a well thought out sound track or harsh noises could really make this. You started to touch on this when the headphones were put on me. Also, a lot of waiting, I got bored to be honest. i got anxious… and then confused, and the bored. Experimenting more with video could be good too. Compositing in things around you on the tv that arn’t there in the room with you is something simple that can be done, or creepy(like the ring video) images you are forced to watch. i liked the last room(no spoilers) with the shoes on the floor. More immersion into situations like that would be great, like you walked into a horror movie halfway through. What about an operating table where you are forced to be the subject? Anyways, just some thoughts. I liked the darkness, but id like to see some scary stuff too, a happy medium of both would make the perfect haunted house. thanks guys! see you next year!

You definitely have to be a horror fan to like this mind horrifying place. LOL! You have no control of your senses and every room is pitch black dark and in the beginning there are strobelights that blind you! I don’t want to ruin it for you but all I can say is they really touch you and mess with your mind. You must follow the rules and do what you are told. You also have to go through alone! I crawled, got stapled, painted, was almost raped and almost lost my shoe. They freak you out! You have to wear a surgical mask and they even covered my head at one of the rooms in the crazy and suspenseful maze. I also had to step half barefoot in a room of condoms. No kids are allowed because of sex, violence and nudity. Must be 18 and over! Condoms and all it was a ball. Scary as hell! I must admit I laughed a lot but there were times they freaked me out. Enjoy!

Scary, yes. But isn’t rape always horrifying– whether it’s Halloween or not? I don’t want to dis the house or it’s creators, because the idea of this type of Haunted House is very innovative, creative and awesome, but the continued emphasis on sexual violence and abduction throughout this year’s show isn’t really a unique/creative way to frighten people. I’m surprised they aren’t donating the proceeds to a sexual violence awareness org. Besides the over the top sexual violence theme running throughout the house– I did enjoy the scares, costumes, being stuck in the darkness without my senses and interaction with the actors. I would give this part more stars if I could, and hope they choose another theme next year.

In the strobe-lit antechamber, I’m given a surgical mask that loops over my ears, and the world’s least effective flashlight. I’m ushered through a curtain, then I’m in the caves of black plastic. It’s pitch-dark, and I’m bent over double, trying to find the damn white line on the floor. I walk through a little while, and there’s nothing. I turn a couple of corners. Nothing. I’m getting freaked out from anticipation, I can hear my breathing due to this damn surgical mask, and it’s hot as hell. I can’t see a thing. Then, I’m rushed from behind. A bag is shoved over my head and hands grab my arms roughly from the front. A PLASTICMOTHERFUCKINGBAG is over my head — I really can’t see anything now, and between the surgical mask and the bag, I’m struggling to breathe. The hands pull me forward. «Step up» says a rough, mean male voice. Total executioner vibe. I panic, because I hate stairs even when I can see them. I gingerly step up, hanging on for dear life to this dude(who I’ve lovingly nicknamed Asshole in my head), and trod all over his feet. «Sorry», I titter nervously, and he barks, «Shut the fuck up!» «Okey-dokey» I reply, and realize that this is why I’m not supposed to talk. I walk up and down a series of steps, then when I reach the bottom, I’m surrounded by people. I can’t see them, but I can feel them, and boy oh boy, they can sure as hell feel me! «Hands behind your back», Asshole barks, and I’m handcuffed. More bags are placed over my head. The«examination» begins. Hands are on my arms and legs. Someone is measuring my stomach(?) I want to crack wise at that, but realize it would be a Bad Idea. Someone has their hands in my goddamn shoes and is scratching at my feet. Cold water is dripped on my bare arms, and clammy wet fingertips are tracing their way into the crook of my elbows. Meanwhile, another actor(I call him Hannibal) is sniffing all around my head, making smacky-chewing noises, sticks his finger in my ear, and at one point, I believe possibly chewed my earlobe. I think this must be when most of the people who call«safety» do so. Then, I’m left alone for at least two minutes, with the bags on my head, trying to breathe. Finally, I’m released from the cuffs, more steps with Asshole(bye-bye, Hannibal!), the bags are FINALLY taken off, and I’m on my merry way again, following the yellow brick road… err, white line on the floor. I don’t get very far before someone leaps at me from behind and shoves me into a brick wall. «Spread your legs and put your hands above your head!» New Asshole barks, and I assume the frisk position against the wall. He does more sniffing and icky touching, at one point sniffs my ass, and I briefly wonder if anyone has ever passed gas in his face.(Thankfully, there was no touching of the boobs or crotch during this whole experience. That would have been Bad Touch.) New Asshole runs his hands over my arms, grabs my pissant flashlight, and absconds into the sea of black plastic. I make my way to a door, go through, and there’s a tall man with a hideous painted face, pigtails, a little girl dress, and… naked from the waist down. Full frontal male nudity, coming at ya! «Hey there, little girl», he trills in a hideous falsetto, «You want the key out? You just gotta dance with me a little bit», then dangles the key above my head. I hop for it, and try to ignore his willy flopping around. «Say pretty please with a cherry on top», he singsongs, and I do. At this point I am totally freaked and just want the fuck out. I wrench the key off his wrist and dive for the padlock. Then his voice turns demonic as he coaches me, «Yeah, put it in the hole, you know how to put it in the hole…» I get free and slam the door. It ends with an enforced crawl through the leaf-strewn tunnel of death, but I’m running out of review room. It was awesome. Totally awesome. And I was so very glad when it was over. I hope these people keep doing haunted houses. They did a brilliant job, it was a total mindfuck. Bravo!
