Your typical deli in Harlem, typical food friendly guys who work there . found a hair in my bagel once and wasn’t to happy about that. But I guess everyone experience is different. They need a little bit of an update in décor since all these other delis have been getting updated.

Love this deli! There are hundreds of delis here in Harlem but this is my favorite. It is a family deli and the owner has like four sons working here. The older sons are really funny and make great sandwiches and they accept credit cards without that pesky«minimum charge». Food stamps are also accepted which is very nice of them because nowadays nobody accepts them. They have the best tuna sandwiches and they always have fresh ripe avocados. Easy 5 stars.

It’s your typical nyc deli. The sandwiches here are surprisingly good. I enjoy the hot chicken cutlet with mustard, pepper jack. add lettuce & tomato on a hero. It doesn’t matter the time of day it’s always busy. The only down side to the deli is all the people that idle at the store. A lot of them are intoxicated or under the influence of something else.

In this immediate area of Harlem there are only two choices for food: delis or fried fast food. These delis are more like bodegas. The Harlem Gourmet Deli has detergent bottles in the front window for example although they only seem to sell food inside. I’ve been going to the Harlem Gourmet Deli a lot because it’s convenient for me. The hot food is surprisingly good. They use Boar’s Head cold cuts so you can expect a good quality product. Some nickname this the«avocado deli» since they’ll readily add avocado to anything here. The drink selection is huge. The deli isn’t pretty looking but I’ve never been disappointed by the food here and the prices are fair.
