So I got there at exactly 11 and i was told the kitchen closes at 12 –_– and the security at the front told me it was a 30 minute wait –___– so i was pretty pissed. But then the security told me to wait a second and he started to look for an available table for me not only that But the manager walked up(Nice guy with dreads and glasses) I cant remember his name and he started looking for a table as well. I was seated in 5 minutes! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. A great recommendation.

I entered this establishment with high expectations but was met with nothing but utter disappointment. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my two other guest ordered their meals. I was told when their food eventually arrived that it would be about 10 more minutes for my waffle to come out which never did. My waiter didn’t notice I never received my food then they told me there was a problem with waffle maker 20 minutes later. I will not be returning.

This place was ok. They bring you cornbread before your meal, that was cool. The Margaritas are extremely cold and STRONG. I thought BBQs made strong margaritas but this place over did it. Aside from that you get a free shot on happy hour. The service was ok. My server was nice and attentive but when i needed her she was always on her phone and that was kinda annoying. If you wanna feel buzzed with one drink just stop by this place. BBQ wings were really gooooood!

I usually get takeout from this location, but on a Friday afternoon a friend and I decided to dine in the restaurant. It was packed but we were seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive and chill, and the food was great. I ordered a Hennessey colada which came with an extra shot and the Buffalo Mac & cheese. Although, the mac and cheese was an appetizers it will definitely fill you up. Two people can share it and be full from the dish. I liked the atmosphere, the drinks, and service. I recommend this place for a lovely, casual get together.

If I could give half a star then I would. My waiter wasn’t attentive and she was just terrible. We’re suppose to get cornbread as soon as we we were seated and with our meal and we didn’t get either. The cornbread was tasteless. The ribs was deelish. And when the menu states chicken WING we expect the whole piece not wingettes. I would never come back and I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone. You’re better off going to Dallas BBQS on 168th& Broadway. The manager was horrible as well, we complained about our waiter and didn’t see any change.

I wanted the Chicken Breast & Red Velvet Waffles to «Go». But instead got two Chicken Thighs. The wrong order. My heart was set on the chicken breast so I’ve taken away a star. They could have informed me from the back if they ran out of breasts or maybe they just didn’t pay attention to my order. The Chicken Thighs were tasty anyway and the crust had a nice hint of garlic flavor. The Red Velvet Waffles tasted no different than regular Yellow Waffles. I thought that the«Red» part of the Waffle might have tasted«Red» whatever that means? Next time I take out from Harlem Bar B-Q maybe I should open up my bag and check to see if I got excatly what I ordered before I leave…

This review is based on a carry out order. I got the roasted chicken, vegetables, and Mac and cheese. Hands down BEST roasted chicken I have ever had! The Mac and cheese was great too! Great food for a really cheap price! We will defiantly be going back very soon!

The service was horrible. when we entered the establishment there was no hostess in site. Where was she near the bar taking shots and caressing some gentlemans back. I was actually quite surprised after r minutes of standing there when she finally turned around to actually do her job. Anyway we were seated right by the hostess literally 2 feet from the hostess. We were never introduced to a waitress or waiter. Never given water, not even utensils. Now we were being calm and nice about the lack of attentiveness but I mean after 20 minutes you mean to tell me you haven’t realized the table sitting two feet from you hasn’t been helped. Keep in mind it was not busy. Finally a waitress comes near our table and decides that she rather be a bad hostess instead of a even worst waitress. I sat there and listened to them try to figure out who was going to wait on our table. Remind you we haven’t complained about nothing yet. What kind of employees work at this establishment you are there to do a job. And where was the manager during this entire exchange is maybe he stepped out like many of the other staff to see the fight across the street. Anyway, the hostess now become our waitress it’s very clear she has never done that before. We have now been seating 30 minutes without being helped. She does her best but it’s just bad. Meanwhile I watch countless patrons come into the establishment and stand right in front of the waitress turned hostess and she doesn’t acknowledge their presence. Like are you kidding me. She obviously doesn’t give two craps about her job. Anyway I just had fried chicken 5 pieces. Not even full wings. And Mac and cheese. Those things were okay. When we paid the bill the girl disappeared with our credit cards for 15 minutes. This establishment needs to work on their customer service. They need tons of work in that department. I should say that it appeared that the orher waiter’s and waitress seemed to be doing their job. So maybe it was just the one bad apple who didn’t care about her job. In the hostess who liked to drink with customers.

The food was delish, I had the chicken and waffles and my husband had the catfish combo. Everything was good including the cornbread. The server was great and friendly, but she forgot some of what we asked for and had to remind her. Overall experience was good.

A trickle of us Unilocalers stumbled in here for supper this past Saturday after the elite event up in Harlem. I was ravenous as the only thing I ate that day was like two pieces of fried food from said Unilocal event and skipped breakfast and lunch and was running off of way too many bourbon and jungle juices. It was a swell idea. The service was incredibly fast and fairly attentive. We got a table right away. The décor is also neat. It’s really bold, bright, and colorful. My first qualm was really with the server forgetting my drink. I wasn’t going to be upset about it but I asked him what was the beer from Sugar Hill, being unfamiliar with the brewery. He had no idea what the beer was. He actually had no idea what seasonal beers the restaurant was serving either. Eventually he remembered and I just went with it. Most bevies were over-priced: $ 6 for mediocre beer options and $ 10 – 15 for cocktails, which I had my limit of already. Between my buddy and I we split an order of their buffalo chicken mac and cheese. We asked the server if this was a decent portion size for two people and he said ‘no, not at all. It’s really tiny. It’s meant to be a starter and that’s not even enough for one person’. Finally, we decided between the two of us that we were being frugal, let’s just split it anyway and get a side of french fries. Whatever. The food comes out. Someone passed me a slice of cornbread. That was pretty awesome tasting actually. Sweet and fluffy. Wish they brought out real butter instead of packets for the table. The mac and cheese came out and it was actually HUGE. LIAR. It was actually so large in this giant cast iron skillet thing that it was the perfect size for two people and I would hope so with it being $ 9.95. It was tangy, crispy on the outside and saucy on the inside. Highly recommend. Also, their sweet bbq sauce is great. Especially on the cornbread and macaroni. Some people liked their food, some didn’t. Mostly chicken or pork dishes were ordered and sandwiches. I’d come back and be willing to give them another try if I’m ever in this neighborhood again but there is some damn tasty bbq in the city that trumps this place. Bottom line: It kind of reminds me of a less kitschy Dallas BBQ. You kind of want it, some of it tastes pretty good but you also feel embarrassed for getting some just okay fried chicken and mac and cheese with your gallon of frozen alcohol.

I was at a nearby event and we decided to come here to grab some food. I was a bit scared since it didn’t get great reviews but they were really nice to our group from the minute we walked in. As I looked through the menu I was surprised by how reasonable the prices were. I decided to go with the crispy half chicken and a side of mac & cheese. I have to rave about the chicken, not only was the skin super crispy but I really loved the flavor. Every part of the chicken was delicious. My meal came with corn bread which was decent but nothing to rave about, the only thing I wasn’t super satisfied with was the mac & cheese. I have to say it was okay nothing special and I would ordered a different side next time.

I feel like I need to start all my reviews by admitting that Im a «good time girl». Im with the shits. I live for the turn up so 9 times out of 10 Im gonna have a good experience because that’s what I do and that’s the point of going out. I think some ppl are fuddy duds so they start at a deficit with every experience. So per usual, I had a blast when I gave my friend a surprise bday here. The staff was super nice & accommodating. I brought in a cake from Make My Cake & fortunately there was no stupid«cake cutting fee». Cute guys at the other tables & bar(major key). The drinks were good but for the life of me I cant remember what I ate! I think I was so excited that I forgot to eat, probably got something to go. Would go again, would show out again, I recommend that you do too.

The food is ok, but the fries I got were cold. Waitress never took our drink order, we had to ask for a sweet tea and for refills on our waters-this is something they should be paying attention to non-stop. The table was cleared, but we waited 15 minutes before we saw our waitress again to then have to ask for the check… again, she should know to bring this once the table has been cleared. Most of the staff just sits at the front of the bar on their phones. Come on guys, you’re at work… so work!!! As I’m writing this, another table had to get up and ask another waitress to help them because theirs(ours) was nowhere to be found for over 15 minutes. The food is good, but be prepared to sit at this restaurant for an hour and half for what should be a 45 minute meal.

This is a nice addition to the neighborhood where there is a lack of full-service sit-down restaurants. It’s a casual, no frills large space and the separate bar area is very much set up for watching sports if you like. I checked the menu online and I instantly thought of Dallas BBQ with chicken, ribs and frozen drink items, but they have more of a soul food spin. I only ordered take-out so I can’t speak to the dine-in experience. I called ahead to place an order but they don’t take orders over the phone, so I was disappointed since other restaurants do so. There was a bouncer who was very courteous and nice. Kind of liked that there was a bouncer and could see the value in case anything gets rowdy at the bar. There’s a specific area to place take-out orders by the bar with a few benches for waiting. The lady who took my order was very nice and my order came out after a short wait. As for the food: — Sweet potato fries: they came in a waxed paper bag, the kind also used for pastries or cookies. For $ 4.95, I thought the portion was small and the fries could have been crispier. — Buffalo wings($ 10.95 for 10 pieces): the wings are large and the Buffalo sauce is as I expected. They coat the wings in more batter than I like which gets clumpy and soggy. Not my preference for how I like my wings. The creamy dipping sauce tasted like watered down blue cheese but they did give me two containers for 10 wings. — Corn bread: this came with my wings and wrapped in foil to keep it warm. Unfortunately, it was thin and compact and not the best cornbread I’ve had. No butter was included like Dallas BBQ does. There were no utensils or napkins in my order so I don’t know if that was forgotten or just their business practice. My rating is more a reflection of the food I had. But I was pleased with the people I interacted with. I may try some other items in the future like ribs or roasted chicken.

It’s only fair for me to update my review, since I had a better experience the second-time around. I had a craving for some mac ‘n cheese and fried chicken, and since this place is across the street from me, I stopped in on my way home after work. It was pretty quiet when I arrived, but about half full of diners. The service was much faster and more organized. Also — I thought I should order the honey fried chicken again, just to make sure I give it a fair assessment. As it turns out, I got the WRONG chicken the first time around. So, my initial review is based on an I’m-not-sure-what-kind-flavor chicken. Although I suspect it was probably the roasted chicken. That said — the honey fried chicken was AMAZING! Just freaking delicious and delectable. The mac ‘n cheese tasted the same as last time — so kudos for consistency! And can’t go wrong with the cornbread. Overall — giving a rating that is more reflective of what I *wanted* to experience the first time around, after having experienced it the second time.

New location new ambiance. Had pretty much all the fixings a BBQ restaurant would have on the menu. Chicken & waffles on the menu-nothing fancy, simply chicken & waffles! You can select your pieces of chicken. I chose the wingettes with buffalo wing sauce on the side. Delicious! Such a great late night after a party kind of meal. Customer service: outstanding. Had the manager Tam(I believe that’s her name) as our server. She was absolutely great.

The waffle itself was good — it wasn’t burnt or dry. Some places chicken have more battery than meat but this one had a good amount of meat. The syrup was not watered down– it was yummy. The presentation of the honey fried chicken could use work. I wish it was drenched in honey. The chicken had some dry spots without honey :(. But overall it was good. Next time I will ask for an extra side of honey. The sweet potato fries were good and so were the cornbreads a that kept coming. Above average customer service. Attentive waiter and great music! Ambiance was really nice!

Finally made it to this 2nd location. FARBETTER and great interior! After moving I’m in my old hood less frequently and had heard Harlem Barbq opened a 2nd location a block away from Harlem hospital. Well, opportunity knocked and we were not disappointed. I’m a fan of the original place and food(although it’s changed in size food is still very rich and very good). I was PLEASANTLY surprised to see this new Harlem bbq spot has a smoker– like wow. Kindof like the ol west. Ok– first let me start off that the place is huge. Cool red interior like other spot but they have a really neat metal tin ceiling w rivets– can’t explain– but thought it was a great touch. Then I asked and found out they had a local artist do some beautiful art work of Harlem on the walls. Wow– like what a nice touch and CHEERS to celebrating Harlem. Lol — it ISHARLEMBARBQ. So food– yup– I had my classic mac and cheese– so rich– so good! And of course had the Mango Jerk Chicken– yum! My co workers had the honey fried chicken– wow– tasted… so freakin smooth. And another had a turkey burger which surprisingly was really flavorful(yes, we share!) Corn bread always a winner and of course, the PINACOLADA. Ahhh heaven. Service was not so bad as I see some reviews are mentioning– we were there yesterday after work and it was crazy busy– but we were told they are opened about a month, so totally understandable(for maybe what the other reviews are saying) maybe we lucked out but we had a great server, Zahid who was amazing and right on! Food came out in a timely manner… but who was counting — we were hanging and having fun! Hope to be back sooner than later! Missing this amazing food!!!

Convenient location since I live nearby. Good energy and upbeat music. The menu was basic, which I like. It wasn’t trying too hard to be cool. It just made sense. I had some pretty good wings and watched football… I was good. The wings were a tad heavy on the breading but still good. Everything came out HOT! Big plus. My wife’s salmon was delicious. I will definitely be back and I recommend it to others looking for no frills food that you will enjoy!
