Went in looking for some fancy laces for my sisters wedding, and the owner was very rude. Customer service was horrible, and the selection was okay, but overpriced. The owner was getting frustrated because we were asking questions and for the prices of some of the fabrics, and when we asked to see some stuff he got even more unhappy. Lots of better options very close by. Not going back for sure.

I have to come back again to explore more! They seem to have a wide selection, with lots of beautiful wax prints right next to the front door. Will be back!

One of the rudest places I have ever been. They act like customers should be in debt to them. On a block with a hundred other choices. Wouldn’t let a woman customer use their bathroom. Disgusting establishment.

I usually go to Paron Fabrics as it has such amazing reviews but I decided to venture out and leave the nest after Paron got rid of their 50% off room and also the lady stalked me like a hawk during my entire time browsing the store. Sometimes I don’t go to the store with a plan in mind, I go to find something I love and create after– oh the possibilities of creation. Anyways, after my stalking experience at Paron, I walked a few doors down and Hamed Fabrics caught my eyes ’cause of the unique fabrics it had. Immediately, I noticed it’s a bit messy and not as organized as Paron Fabrics but it kind of adds some mystique to the store and when is creativity ever neatly packaged and organized. After two times of shopping at Hamed’s, here’s what I have to say: 1. the store could be a little bit more organized but venture around, take it in and just ask the store reps if you have questions. 2. Customer service was great both times I came here. I think I pointed out 10 fabrics in a row asking prices and they didn’t mind all. They answered each question with a smile. 3. Fabrics are cheap! or relatively cheap. For someone on a budget, I’d say go here. I’d give this place a 3.5 stars, but since there’s no half option on Unilocal,I’m giving it a 4 because the guys were so helpful and nice.

guy was really rude. i asked for the price and it was within my budget so i asked for a swatch. «do you think i can get a swatch of this?» in a rude tone«no. no swatches here» i was a bit confused. «i never been to a fabric store that doesn’t give swatches.» in a careless, i don’t give kinda tone, «well not here.» well then, i won’t buy anything there. i needed a swatch for approval before buying it. all i asked for was 1 swatch of a $ 10 fabric. not even an expensive fabric! crossed over to swan fabrics and i didn’t even ask for a swatch and the guy cut me one. so i’ll just never come here again and tell all my friends not to come here.

Right next door is Daytona Trimming. The store occupies two floors. What I loved about this store is that the owners and staff were very friendly and left you to browse. The fabrics were well organized and I actually enjoyed the browsing experience. I was looking for linen based project and they had a great selection on the second floor: the price was very good for the material composition, which I ended up buying some and will be back for more. Yes, they allow swatches, but need to ask for cuttings. However, I wish they had price tags on them as I really did not enjoy asking for the price — more an issue for me. Other good choices include solid prints jersey knits and taffeta. This is definately one to include in your sewing projects list of places to visit. Prices are very reasonable.
