Got delivery through seamless. Pretty good Bento box. Got the Salmon Terriyaki and it came with rice, shumi, california roll, miso soup and salad. The food was good, just a little bit luke warm by the time it got to me.

Food poisoning! Ordered salmon roll on a Sunday night –other reviews are right, it was delivered warm and tasted«fishy.» Also ordered shrimp tempura roll, which was mostly fried and very little shrimp. and woke up in cold sweats and have been vomiting all day today! I hear nyc fish deliveries are on Tuesdays so it could have been poor timing, but nonetheless I’ve never had food poisoning before and this was rough. It’s been a really hot week so perhaps their fish refrigeration wasn’t ready for the heat. Don’t serve it if it’s not good though! To be fair, though, delivery was really fast and one thing on the menu that stood out was the fried vanilla ice cream — was really good.

DONOTEATHEREESPECIALLYIFYOUARE A VEG. Ordered two rolls an avo and a shiitake avo and miso eggplant. The rolls had fish eggs on them despite that I wrote in the comments section of both rolls please no fish eggs I am a vegetarian. The ones that didn’t have fish eggs tasted very off. I only had a few pieces. Despite barely eating anything I woke up the next morning sick to my stomach and threw up for hours. It was the only non packaged food I ate yesterday so it was without a doubt this food. I also paid a dollar to add avocado to my shiitake roll and it was not added. Total ripoff. DONOTORDERFROMHERE!

3.5 stars Not sure why all the 1-star super negative reviews — I order here a lot when working late, and while not the best sushi in the world it’s fair for the price. I typically get sashimi, so I taste only the fish, and can’t recall ever having a piece that tasted off. If you get a combo and select the salad as your extra, be forewarned that it’s diced up iceberg with a cup of dressing — no tomato, carrots or cucumbers. Never have experienced the one hour delivery issues that others have complained about either, although I have had my fair share of rude delivery men interactions — eg., not wanting to bring the food up to my floor and telling me to come to the lobby… isn’t that part of the delivery? Occasionally have forgotten an item in the order, but I will say the one time I called to let them know they sent the missing item.

I eat here quite a bit. I usually eat the same thing and each time it’s always tasty. I don’t eat raw Fish so I can’t comment of the freshness. I can recommend the sweet potato roll, and avocado rolls are great. The seaweed salad is good but they put a lot of romain lettuce under the seaweed to beef it up a bit so there isn’t much there. Lost a star because one time the delivery took almost two hours.

The only thing worse than the sushi was the delivery guy who screamed at me in the lobby of my office building for not hurrying down after one call. It’s a 20 floor building during lunch hour so you do the math or figure it out how long it took me to get downstairs… He claimed he was busy, but not sure who else he could be possibly be delivering too with sushi this bad(actually feel obligated to write this review as I eat– IT’S that bad). If you’re ordering from around this area, stick to Akimato unless you want to feel like the biggest moron in Manhattan for trying this place(that is currently how I feel).

The worst sushi I’ve had! Rolls were warm and tasted fishy! I ordered 4 rolls and it didn’t matter. They were all warm and soggy. I ended up throwing them all out and ordering pizza

I placed a delivery item tonight. I wish I had eaten cold cereal instead. First of all, the food was delivered over an hour after ordering. That is the least of the problems. Now, lets talk about the food. I ordered three different rolls. All three rolls arrived with the same bright orange chewed up fish. it was either on top of the roll, or inside of the roll. It was like someone had gathered all of the leftover fish, threw in some orange dye, and gave it a big whirl in the food processor. Nasty and not found in nature. The vegetable tempura was the least objectionable food item. Veggies, deep fried in a thick, chunky paste of batter. Way too much batter. I just hope I don’t get sick.

The sushi that we ordered had rice that was packed too tightly together. The cucumber in the kani salad was chopped unevenly and in large chunks. The flour used for the tempure wasn’t flaky but packed into a hard layer. Avocado was aged and turning brown. The service was decent but the food needs work.

I ordered from here against my better judgment. There’s definitely something off about this place. My tuna-avocado roll was fine, but the spicy tuna seemed weird. Won’t be ordering from here again, despite the low prices and good service. Bummer.

If you like warm, fishy-smelling sushi, this is your place. We ordered and it took the delivery guy 90 minutes to deliver our order – to a building 3.5 blocks away.

Ordered from Seamless, which has a 4.5 star rating for this place. –The delivery guy was a dick, chewed me out at the door for«living too far away»(it was a mile at most.) and forgot my rice and bottle of water. –My vegetarian roll had fish roe accidentally scattered on a few pieces. Gross. –Who the fuck puts wasabi in a cup mixed in with the ginger?

It’s too bad there’s no ZERO stars! Like other people, I didn’t check Unilocal and just went by Seamless. What a mistake. Ordered: Seaweed Salad — very little and soggy to the point it wasn’t good. Sunshine Roll — old tasting Salmon Pepper — soggy, gross! Delivery guy: WTH is up with this man?! He refused to come upstairs then yelled and called me like 4x to come down, then to open the door. When he did come to the door he did nothing but yell at me for not opening the door quickly enough. I’ve never had a delivery guy be that rude, ever.

Look, I’m going to come to the defence of this sushi place. I ordered it tonight for dinner off GrubHub, without checking out its rating on Unilocal first(NOT usual practice). You can imagine my nervousness when I did look it up after ordering and saw that it had two stars and a bunch of complaints. For those who can’t imagine: I was nervous. So it arrives quicker than estimated, and I take it upstairs, sweating bullets. I opened up everything and it was… Delicious? I had salmon don and it was fresh and tasty, and they had that delicious dark green tea ice cream that all the Japanese restaurants have in NYC, but that I can’t figure out where to get it in the stores(if anyone can help me out, I’d appreciate it). It wasn’t the cheapest meal I’ve had, but it left me satisfyingly full. Maybe I had a lucky break, but I don’t see what everyone is complaining about. I’d definitely order from here again, no problems.

I was also mislead by the 5 stars on Seamless… I’m not entirely convinced that my salmon was actually sushi grade, not to mention the fact that it was warm. The rolls were pretty poorly crafted; they kept falling apart. Unsurprisingly, I did not finish my meal.

Is there an option for negative stars? Disgusting. The most pathetic excuse for sushi and or sashimi I have ever experienced. Fishy and tough salmon sashimi. Fishy and slimy tuna sashimi. I ordered the sweet potato roll, which said nothing about tempura, and it was more tempura than sweet potato. My avocado shrimp roll? Avocado and fake shrimp. Oh, and I asked for extra wasabi. I got a dime sized portion, which had been stained pink by the artificially dyed«ginger.»

I was in search of another highly regarded sushi place on that same block but turned away once I saw the B in their window. Sure, we can debate the issue of whether NYC’s inspection system is accurate but, until something takes its place, I’m not walking into a place when it has less than an A. There’s just no point, especially when there are other restaurants on the same block serving the same cuisine. (step down from soapbox) This isn’t the friendliest-looking place(though the A is) and, once inside, I can’t see someone sitting there for a meal. This restaurant seems entirely focused on meeting their Seamless orders, and you can hear the recorded voice in the back over and over saying, «New Seamless Order.» There were bags of delivery lunches on the tables waiting for the bikers to pick up for delivery at one of the buildings in the area. The guy at the counter had a half-inch think pile of orders he was ringing up, which just shows how much delivery figures into their business model. I ordered the two-roll lunch special(at 20% off) with a salad. Don’t…Dare…Break…The…Order…Pattern. I started engaging the guy at the counter to place my order but god help you if you don’t do it in the order he wants you to give it to him. Once I got the point it went well after that. Within five minutes I had my lunch and was out the door. The eel and avacado roll was superb, and the spicy salmon was bright pink and creamy good. The salad was pretty standard but the pickled ginger was hotter than usual and blew my head off. That was a good thing – I’ve got a bit of a cold and I love ginger when it’s spicy. All in all this appears to be a decent sushi place if you want somewhat inexpensive, no-frills fish. I think they have some front-of-house issues that would help them be more welcoming, but I suspect just from seeing the activity that they don’t want or need people crowding up the place. I will return when I’m in a sushi mood.

Okay so I’m sure their Seamless site must be rigged. Not sure how they managed to get 800+ reviews and a 5-star rating because this was the worst sushi I’ve ever eaten. The 2-roll sushi combo was reasonably priced(1 star) and the delivery was fast(2nd star). My spicy tuna roll was so loose, it kept giving between my chopsticks, and the tuna had the consistency of wet sand. I also ordered a Philadelphia roll but half of the salmon chunks were tough and I had to spit them out. Never ordering from here again, I really regret not looking up the Unilocal reviews first.

Starving @ 11:45am today my co worker and I ordered from Hamachi Sushi for lunch. It’s pretty good, though I’ve had more flavorful sushi. The 2 roll maki combo comes to around $ 10 but they charge $ 6 for gyoza which is a tad steep. I couldn’t help myself though. I was famished and this definitely hit the spot. lowering the rating from 3 stars to one. i found a bone in my roll and the gyoza was cold.
