Hot chocolate with soy milk was not creamy enough and tasted watered down. Tasted worded than swiss mix. Service was cordial. I will try their latte next time to be fair that the baritas probably had bad coco but maybe better Beans.

The staff is so friendly here! Especially Alex! We are new to the hood and love coffee. When we passed this place, we stopped in and just mentioned we are checking it out as we are new to area. Alex introduced herself right away, gave us a little info on the coffee and let us try samples! It was great and so was the coffee! Mmmmmm… We have made this our regular coffee spot before coming to work. Stop in for friendly folks, great coffee and a nice café vibe.

Coffee is fine and decently priced. Service was snotty, and the counter area is disorganized so that people ordering and picking up drinks are jostling each other constantly. Not many outlets and the wifi was not working the day I came. The place is very bustling — to be expected for the location — but perhaps not the best place to get work done.

I love Ground Central café. The coffee is excellent and the pastries are delicious. The staff is amazing. Super friendly and nice and after your third visit they will remember how you like your coffee. Love this place.

Great spot! I found this coffee shop on Unilocal while staying in Midtown East. This place really stands out in an area saturated with Starbucks and dunks. I tried the flat white and my boyfriend had an iced latte, which were both some of the best we’ve ever had! We also each had a croissant. They were light, buttery, flakey, and better than most french bakeries.
The staff was welcoming and tried to get to know everyone that came in. I loved this spot so much I came back every morning and even purchased a mug!

I had one of the best matcha latte (if not, the best as I can recall) here at Ground Central. The flavor is very rich and creamy, with the perfect sweetness to it (I replaced regular milk with almond milk so perhaps that added to the sweetness).
The café itself is not big, but has great ambience. I was working there while drinking my latte, and they provide free wifi (though I did not ask for the password since I wasn’t using it). Would go back again for another drink!

I ordered a cold brew through the cups app and the pain au raisin. The cold brew was bitter, even after my attempts to disguise the bitterness with milk and sugar. They don’t leave their milk out, so you have to ask the barista if you want to add more milk. The seating consists of two park benches, 4 small round silver tables and 4 stools as tall as the table. This was quite an odd arrangement of seating: the seat of the stools was about as tall as the tables, so you’re almost towering over the person sitting on the benches. The pain au raisin was good, nothing special. Overall I’d say, I’m glad I came here this once with the cups app but I don’t think I’ll be back again.

Came to the Israeli consulate with my family couldn’t go in and found this delicious place next door by far the most delicious mocha I ever tried Starbucks sucks compare to theses people friendly staff fun atmosphere and not as loud and nasty as Starbucks and on the side note the deserts is addicting

Excellent coffee, reminiscent of Peets Coffee bold flavor. Had tasty sandwich with prosciutto and mozzarella and well-​made iced latte. One demerit for overly loud music (they were kind enough to change the 6 min+ guitar jam but other music was fine). Welcome alternative to midtown chains.

What a wonderful café! It’s really hard for me to walk by and not stop in to get my favorite cup of coffee! Yes, the coffee is great – but can I tell you that their staff is amazing? You get smiles, jokes and laughs from the staff – you can tell they enjoy being there. Kinda rare for this angry/​grumpy city!!!
Oh and did I mention that the pastries are delish? They definitely are getting the right bakery to bake them their goods (my fav is their croissant – simple? Yes. But it’s fresh, crispy and better than most bakeries here in the city.)
I’m so happy they’re in the neighborhood!

Finally– a great vibe coffee café in this area I want to keep returning to!
Super friendly service, great music and loved the art on the wall.
Chocolate croissant had a good, buttery taste– chocolate could have been more and better quality, but it was good. Very generous pumpkin muffin samples!
The best thing was the latte — think this was the best latte I have had in the city. Not a hint of bitterness, perfectly smooth. Served with a heart! :)

Friendly staff, cool ambiance. More café-​like than bar-​like. A chalkboard sign outside says salads & sandwiches are 50% off after 4 PM.
This spot is smaller than their other Midtown East location, but it faces west so more sunlight streams in. I still prefer the other location though, simply because it has that cool library-​themed room in the back. But this place is still sweet! I bet it’s less crowded here during the rush hour, too.
–Wild Blueberry Scone ($ 3 total): Pretty darn good.

Checked out the new location with a Paypal offer, and apparently their half-​off pastry promo starts earlier here. Unfortunately there was mass confusion about what was included from all staffers, so it took a while just to leave with 2 items, both decent but forgettable. Preferred the brighter space, about just as long&narrow as the other, with more of a café than bar feel.

Heavy traffic outside but this place is a safe haven. Lots of speciality drinks inside. Cute for girls and college students on break
