This grocery store is TINY but they have everything. I went here on the way home from the park. Typical no frills Gristedes, with the ultra high price points. I walked out with 7 items for just under $ 20, and any grocery shopper in Manhattan knows that’s next to impossible. The store is clean, the aisles are tight. If you’re closing in on 300lbs, don’t waste your time, you won’t fit. I’ve never understood how this particular grocery chain has survived with such high prices and so little in regards to looks and appeal. This store is so small they don’t have the new York street labels on the 2 registers. The shoppers aren’t as uppity as I presumed. Everyone spoke(some even smiled), they probably assumed I was wealthy(but clearly not a rapper), I’ll take it. The workers serve with a smile, that’s always worth a star.

Dump, irritating staff that walk away from the check-out and talk while you have to wait for them to return(regular occurrence), high prices and forget if you need some meat or fresh cold cuts its the worst

Only go here when need to pick something up real quick as it happens to be steps from my apartment. It’s expensive, small and has very limited produce.

Freezing, boring and grossly overpriced. Every item in this store is 50 cents to $ 2 more than a comparable item at another store, including milk, juice, ice cream cereal or most basics. Its only value is its convenient location, but I would rather walk to the Morton Williams on 81st and first avenue.
