Their meat section is hit or miss as well as the vegetables … But you can’t look past the convenience of the location. Prices are comparable as well.

Depressed is the correct word. You feel really poor once you enter inside due to crazy pricing. It is convenient but very expensive and selection is poor. Customer service is blah. 3 times I have pointed expired eggs. Each time they say that it’s the first time by the same manager :). Wish another store takes over this crappy store.

this place is dirty, depressing and way overpriced. $ 10 for a watermelon, c’mon man, that watermelon better have gold plated seeds inside! Also, they don’t post their hours. One of the clerks told me that the management said it was «too dangerous» to post their hours. In what way, I wonder?

They’re pretty expensive and the cashiers can be hit or miss but you can’t beat it for convenience living at Waterside. Prefer to use freshdirect if we can.

Way overpriced, not much of a selection, and service is ehhh.
The problem is that it’s about 50 feet from where I’m staying, so there’s not too many options w/​o having to take a cab or walk longer than I want to.

I don’t really care about most grocery stores, but this one is gross. It’s located in the four building complex known as Waterside Plaza. What makes this Gristedes gross? Since there isn’t a lot of access to anything (Waterside Plaza lies East of FDR on it’s on little peninsula), a lot of their stock looks neglected and dusty. And since this Gristedes has a monopoly on Plaza, they also raise their prices substantially higher than other supermarkets. It’s like being caught in a a really sweaty headlock. O, the pains of being lazy.
