I took the three-​hour urban cycling class this morning, since I grew up in a small town and didn’t have any experience bicycling in traffic. There were two instructors for seven students. We did some basic drilling in Central Park (signaling and bike control) then rode around Central Park before venturing onto the city streets along a series of increasingly less-​protected bike lanes. The instructors were friendly and helpful/​informative, and the ride itself was fun. Definitely recommended for anyone who’d like to start biking in NY but feels intimidated by the traffic. Also just a nice way to spend a Sunday morning.

These guys are good. From tons of experience to really answering any types of biking questions, these gentlemen know what they’re doing. You should totally take this class if you want to feel more confident on your bike as you learn the streets of NYC. Even as a somewhat comfortable/​moderate/​blue square rider, I feel like I have gained the tools I need to take on city riding!
