I love this place! They have the best fresh juices! Nice assortment of salads as well. Prices are ok. Open very late as well.

After living in WNY for 2 years this was my first time to actually order from The Green Café. Way over priced. Horrible Management that gave me such vague descriptions of their menu items that I ended up paying $ 13 for pancakes and some bacon!!! pancakes and bacon. Although it is convenient, I think I’m better off just eating from the vending machine.

Stopped in here to grab a quick lunch while in the area. I had the proscioutto and brie sandwich and it was aight but not really what I was expecting. A little sparse w/the ingredients and not a whole lot of flavor. I also had a side of the potato salad which was way too sweet for me. It’s a little confusing of a set-up too. you basically order then go pay then go back to wait for your order. The front section is really small so you get this crowd of people waiting around you as you order which is a smidge awkward. Just thinking there prolly has to be a better way… If I was in the area and hungry I might give it another shot but lots of other better options in mid-town for a quick bite.

Just had the turkey burger here, and it was the WORST turkey burger I have ever tried, and probably one of the top 10 worst things I have ever taken a bite of and then thrown away. Wow, this place is disguisting… don’t know how anyone can eat here. fries were soggy and cold also

Green Café is one of my favorite places to order breakfast and lunch. Their food is always fresh and tasty. The staff is great and if by chance anything in your order is incorrect — they are so pleasant and quick to fix it for you. Great for work and staff meetings. AFruitFli

It’s a descent place. It definitely isn’t vegetarian only like it’s name would have you think, but it allows you to act like a vegetarian if you want because of it’s many resources. Make your own salad area, vegetable soups, sandwiches in every typical style you can think of, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches and platters, healthy drinks and soda aswell as alcohol. It’s got seating up a little way from the street which I like. It serves it’s purpose if you want to sit and relax a bit, drink or eat something hot, shoot off or check emails, stare at CNN on their flat screen where you sit, read, then go on your way.

Great for«Make Your Own Sandwich» because of their many varieties of bread! White, Rye, Pumpernickel, Sourdough, Seven Grain, Wheat, Hero, Baguette, Focaccia, Ciabatta, Ficelle, Grain Roll & Tortilla. Can get a little busy around week-day lunch.

Why do we drive on the parkway and park on the driveway? Why do I so enjoy Al Sharpton’s perm? Why is Justin Beiber famous? Life can be full of conundrums, so I guess it makes sense that the Green Café, bearing a hippie-sounding name and labeled as vegetarian, serves 99% non-vegetarian food. This disappointed me, however everyone enjoyed their meals, and it was pretty cheap. For what it is, this place probably deserves 3 or 4 stars. But in the spirit of doing shit that makes absolutely no sense, I’ll give it 2 stars instead.

This place is incredible. If you’re looking for a tossed salad, this is the place to go! They’ve got a wider selection of nuts then other places I’ve tried as well as some really tasty meats– I recommend the spicy chicken. Also, their tangerine slices are fresh cut, not canned and in that sweet syrup, making them the best place around for an asian-style salad that I know of. Not to mention their lunch specials are well priced for the area and the people are amazingly friendly. So friendly, in fact, that I take the extra walk to go to this location rather than stop at the Green Café closer to me.

The Black and White Cookie. The premier cookie of New York City. Desert has cheesecake. Meat has hot dogs. Dairy has pizza(and most likely hot dogs as well — god knows what’s inside there… probably not«meat» in any traditional sense). And yes. Cookies are defined by the Black and White. But the thing is, everyone and their mom knows that the white side just tastes infinitely better. I dig chocolate as much as the next dude who can’t talk about how much he loves chocolate because that just isn’t manly(STEAK!). But vanilla icing is just superior. So what have the geniuses at Green Café done? Boom. All white cookie. Sure they have all chocolate cookies as well, and of course, the classic black and white. But god damn. A giant cookie, covered exclusively in the better half? Sign me up. Of course, we can delve deep into the segregationist policies of Green Café, but I’m going to leave politics out of this — and just fatten myself up.

I needed a quick bite to eat before meeting some friends in Central Park. I was walking down 57th in hopes of pizza, but this place caught my eye first. Decent enough. Kudos to having a panini with chicken that is cut up well. I HATE paninis with pieces of chicken that are so big, they slide of out of the sandwich. I got a panini, chips, iced tea, and a banana for $ 10. Decent enough. I actually could have gotten a free can of soda with my meal, but I went for my trusty Honest Tea instead because… well, me no likee soda. No, no, no. The cashier said that instead of a soda, he wanted me to have a banana. He kindly picked out a rather nice one for me. Haaa. Good to know this place is around that area if I ever need food in a pinch.

Grill cheese sandwich are the best, but not on rye bread especially at $ 4.50! Chedder cheese and bread cost $ 4.50? For someone who knows little about cooking/preparing food yet knowledgeable about dining out and eating, like myself, I can surely prepare a grill cheese sandwich as it does not require a doctoral degree!

After a visit to nearby FAO Schwartz and Bergdorf Goodman, I needed a hot cup of coffee. I happened upon Green Café and decided to check it out. The interior is divided into two sections. The first level has the ordering counter and cashier area. Here you can order coffee, drinks, sandwiches, get some soup and desserts. To the right are some stairs that lead up to the main seating area. The seating area is cramped, but it can accommodate at least fourteen people(maybe more). I ordered a coffee with three rugulas(cinnamon, chocolate and rasberry). The rugulas, biscotti and cookies were in air tight jars, a nice touch to keep them fresh. The coffee was flavorful and just the right temperature. The rugulas were all flaky and tasty but I have to say that the cinnamon was my favorite. I don’t see myself becoming a regular here, but it’s nice to have a «go to» place for a hot drink and food in such a tourist-y area.

I work in midtown and order lunch out basically every day. Green Café is my go-to when I don’t really know what I want, because they have a pretty lengthy menu. The sandwiches are decent(the Tuna/Avocado signature sandwich is my favorite, it comes on a delicious multi-grain hero) and the vegetable soup is awesome, it doesn’t taste canned and it has big chunks of veggies. I stay away from the wraps because they don’t usually taste freshly made, more like they’ve been sitting in the fridge all day. Their delivery is usually pretty fast. Not my favorite place, but decent for a midtown lunch.

Bait and switch… I just got an email from 8coupons that Green Café is have a sandwich+Cape Cod chips+can of soda for $ 6.25. Always on a hunt for a bargain, I dropped in on the place, only to find that they don’t have the aforementioned lunch special. I asked the clerk behind the counter several times to confirm and he replied with the same answer. I ended up getting the Cheeseburger+fries+can of soda special for $ 5.99. The best analogy I can think of is this, you“re shopping for a shirt that’s on sale but came out with a pair of pants that’s on sale. It wasn’t really what I want, but it wasn’t all that bad. Bur they have to get their act together though working with 8coupons.

I love authentic deli’s! The pizza here was so delicious! The crust was so thin and crispy and mmm good. I got this vegetarian slice which surprisingly was not soggy at all! Everything you order here is «customizable». Their«make your own…» menu makes the picky eater [like myself] look less bitchy and high maintenance. Wide range of items to order from – sandwiches-pizza-pasta-salads-bagels-omlettes-wraps-soups-paninis… and this place was definitely vegetarian friendly which is a big PLUS! Bay area italian deli’s don’t compare to those that exist in New York… and on top of that, they were really generous with the add ons for my salad. I love it when I get the hook up without having to flash cleavage.

Awesome little lunch spot. They have a salad bar where you pay by whatever you put in it. You pay for a base price of lettuce and then depending on what you add, the salad costs accordingly. That was great, I got a delicious salad and it had exactly what I was craving in it! Perfect. They also have lots of different kinds of wraps, sandwiches, pizza, bagels, and other good stuff. Paul got something from the hot pasta bar, it was the same deal. You pick what kind of pasta, sauce, and ingredients that you want in it and pay accordingly. I believe he got spaghetti and meat sauce. He really enjoyed it. I wish I could have gotten a half or side salad, I couldn’t finish mine. Which in a way, is good, the portions are quite large for what you get but I couldn’t really drag half of salad around with me all day so, mine was partially wasted. Perfect for two people to split, maybe with some soup! Anyway, great place to eat if you are in a rush and there are lots of vegetarian and healthy options. Not a lot of places to sit but, it looked like people moved in and out of there pretty quickly.
