Great service, very clean, and the only one in East Harlem to get great, perfect in every category grades from the NYC Health Department. I checked the online grades and public records regarding Wok, and It was without blemish. The egg rolls, and chicken fried rice were the best I ever had in American Chinese fast food. Wok is spacious, spotless and they have an ATM, and two clean tables, and is located in a busy spot, so no undesirable people, no thugs. Wok is right off the Subway entrance at one of the most famouse spots in East Harlem: 103 Street and Lexington Avenue. While in East Harlem, and NYC in general, Wok will be the only Chinese fast food spot i will call in to order, or stop in. Great, fast delivery as well over the phone.

Don’t be tempted by the glorious, MSG filled smell of fried rice as you come up from the subway. Their awning makes the claim«The best Chinese food in New York to take out.» It should really say«The worst middle of the night violent vomiting you will ever experience to take out.» I should’ve listened to my instinct when I walked in and it smelled like an old fish tank. On the plus side, my girlfriend said my now flat stomach looks great.

About as authentic Chinese as General Tso aka convenient take-out«Americanized-Chinese(not really Chinese) food.» If you’re in the mood for something greasy, quick, and cheap, this place is it. Fried rice, sweet and sour, etc, you can get all those dishes here, including some Latin-inspired sides like tostones(fried green plantains). It’s in East Harlem so they cater to the local palette. The staff is very friendly. Downside: they don’t accept cards.

Recommended by a friend who lives on 105th. I tried to place an order and they told me that don’t deliver to 106st. I can’t walk anywhere because I sprained my foot. And when asked why they didn’t deliver I got hung up on! Unless you are next door to the place don’t call for delivery.

I love this restaurant. I have been in NYC for almost a year now and all the workers have been great to me. For takeout, the food is great and is more than reasonably priced. They treat their loyal customers with respect and with great taste. They are quick and never fail to provide great service. I’m a fan of spice and value and this place definitely has both. Picks: Beef and Broccoli, Chicken and Broccoli, Fried/Steamed Dumplings, Kung Bo Chicken, Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken

Could better… My dish is general tsos. I always ask them to make it extra crispy and extra spicy. Have only gotten it exactly the way I asked once. The flavor is good though. It’s not too sweet. Prices are average. I always call in advance-easier that way

I love Great Wok! But honestly the only reason I ever went here is because it was 3 doors down from my apartment building. I don’t know why anyone would consult Unilocal before going to a Chinese takeout-only place like this. I don’t even know why I am bothering to write a review. Don’t go out of your way, but you’ll be happy if you ever find yourself there. General Tso’s, Sesame and Orange were my dishes.

Hangover Chinese. Everything is kind of a variation of everything else(fried with extra sugar), but if you’ve had a few whiskeys the night before, it’s JUST what the doctor ordered. Doesn’t deliver(has more than enough foot traffic from being right next to the 103rd St stop), but has your food ready in 2 minutes. One star extra for: Open ’til 1AM on the weekends INSANELY cheap, and still tastes decent(like $ 5 for General Tso’s and rice) Super-friendly staff, despite the customer drama that is always taking place in the sit-down area Entertaining personal drama always available in the sit-down area.

As I write this Unilocal lists this place as Mr. Rice Kitchen, but it’s actually a Chinese take out place called Great Wok. Great Wok is my favorite take-out spot in Spanish Harlem. I lived right up the block for a year and I got lunch and dinner here a least one or two times a month. The food I would get– lo mein, rice, chicken, beef, broccoli – was always fresh and not too greasy. That’s a big plus for me, that the food was of course greasy but just the right amount. Their kitchen is small and it looked pretty clean. Course it not gourmet but compared to the greasy under cooked places near by they are fantastic. They have two tables if you want to stay and take CASHONLY. However, don’t fall for the«fresh» ice tea they sell. It’s soda can ice tea that they pour into plastic containers and charge a little more.
