Had to stand outside this place for 15mins before someone came out to tell us there was only bottle service. Most disrespectful thing I had ever seen. Idk what the hype was about and why they thought they were the only bar open on a Friday night but on Príncipe would not want to go back there.

Goldbar used to be the hottest club in the city, for which Jennifer Aniston & Lady Gaga made famous a few years ago, and was one of the hardest to get into… seems like things haven’t changed. Let me preface my 4-Star Review with this… there is NOWAY I would have gotten into this place no my own or with my guy friends. Even if we tried to get a table/buy a bottle. There were a few groups of guys there saying they would get a bottle for entrance and the Doorman just said«No bottle service», which obviously is a lie cause there are tables with bottle service, he just didn’t like the guys. The only reason I got in was cause I was with my date and two of her friends who are legitimate models for IMG/Chanel(not«Instagram models» lol) and they come here all the time. I would NOT have even attempted to come here unless I was with her and/or her friends. And if you read the other reviews, the majority of the 1– and 2-Star reviews have to do with the Doorman not letting them in. Notice how«Doorman» is in the ‘Highlights and Insights’ section? I agree, it sucks when you can’t get in, and normally I wouldn’t be able to, but that’s just the way it is here. Seems to be a lot harder than other places — Marquee, Tao, etc., cause it’s a lot smaller, tiny actually, so it’s not overrun with club promoters, out-of-towners, etc. But once you’re in, it’s a really cool place with an awesome ambiance and decorations(gold skulls, chandeliers, etc), great music, not too crowded and lots of good looking people, mainly women. We had a great time there, drinking & dancing and were there until they closed at 4am. I highly recommend it, but just make sure you have a way to get in, especially for GUYS, cause the door is pretty hard to get through. Otherwise, I’d pass on this place, cause it would suck to not get in as there’s not much around the area as a backup plan, except for Southside, which is not that great. Just trying to write an honest review for people so they aren’t caught by surprise, as I would be.

Be careful with this place. I got one drink. Gave them my credit card. They then lost my credit card and gave me a receipt for over $ 100. I was like«this is ridiculous… I got one drink, you lost my card, and you’re charging me over $ 100 for it?» Then I met the manager, Vincent, who had my card, apologized and said the drink was on the house. Low and behold, on my credit card statement, I was charged $ 38! So I disputed and tried to work it out with Goldbar. They somehow claim I bought 2 drinks at $ 16 a piece and tipped $ 6. No way, no how! This was an unauthorized charge. I was never asking for any free drinks. I have no issue paying for the one overpriced drink but no tip! I’m now disputing $ 22, but if this sketchy place ever wants my business again, they will make this right. I also work as a location manager, scout, UPM, and producer on various films, tv shows, commercials, print ads, and special events that pay thousands to rent places like this. But I will not be considering it for any of that and I’ll spread the word to my colleagues who do the same sort of work to avoid considering this place, unless they want to make this fully right and do what Vincent the manager said he was going to do. The $ 38 is not going to break me, but how many others are they ripping off? I’m fighting this and speaking out on principle.

Its a fun club to check out;) The décor and ambience of the place makes you in the mood to party and have a good time. The entrance was little hard but not impossible. If is too crowded is very uncomfortable and not worth it. Everyone is on top of each other.

Do not bother. There are many other places in NYC far more deserving of your money than Goldbar. I am disgusted with the lack of professionalism I encountered last night and will never again return.

I came here to check it out to see how it would be for a birthday and I really enjoyed the music and ambience of the lounge. The place is quite small, it could only fit about 100 people comfortably. I would definitely come back with a small group to have a good night.

Came here on a Friday night for a friends birthday. We arrived around 11:15−30ish, it was me and my 4 other guy friends. None of my guy friends were able to come in unless they bought bottle service which is $ 600 minimum. So FELLAS pls be aware that if you’re thinking of just coming in for a few drinks, look somewhere else because this place will not allow you to enter. Based on the recent reviews I’ve read I believe I found the guy at the door known as «Steve» who gives a problem for everyone to come in. I’d give this place no stars if I could. I would not recommend anyone to go here, I would not recommend at all. At least mention on your website that you don’t allow entry to a group a guys unless it’s bottle service. Oh and ladies do beware, I believe the bouncers and«Steve» pick and choose who they want to enter. NEVERAGAIN. STAYAWAY.

It’s a fun bar, I’ll never take that away from them. But the bartender authorized a massive tip on my card before I signed for my bill(which had an empty tip row on it for me to fill in). I guess he figured I was drinking so I wouldn’t keep the receipt or remember he committed fraud. The next round of drinks I bought in cash, but he charged me a different amount per drink for the same exact order. Really clever too.

Visited here on their Sunday Fun Day. Awesome music and I danced all night! Great crowd and atmosphere. Everyone there seemed to be happy classy ready to have a really good time. The drinks were great and the bartenders and staff were super friendly. Surprisingly the crowd here is was younger than I expected(20 something’s), but everyone was having great time. Décor was awesome as your can imagine and we got some really great snapshots!

Had no problem getting in and whatever drink the bartender made me was legit out of this world… So refreshing and sweet. It is very trendy and a little on the pricey side however it is NYC so no surprise there.

I’d heard they had a racist door policy but I did not see that when I came here for an event. In fact, the door person said to go right in since he knew who I was(a model). I also saw a crowd here consisting of all races when I was here. Our changing/holding area was minuscule but the staff here did their best & I got the sense that they didn’t tolerate BS here; it made me feel safe. Our event was extremely rushed for some reason but the hanging out/dancing afterwards was lots of fun. Décor is definitely nice & unique and the place looks bigger in pictures than when you’re actually in there. Absolutely no complaints here.

They need to renew the interior. It’s been like this forever and almost smells old. Music is fine. Bar kinda small. All in all not worth going and wasting time for nothing special. Only give 4 stars because I had a good time.

Came with a promoter on a Friday summer night. Parking was SUPER easy to find, and driving there is just a few minutes off of the Williamsburg bridge. Music: Before 12:30, they play trance, which I’m not a big fan of. After 12:30, they play primarily hip hop and EDM sparingly. They love to bring back hip hop of the early 2000s. Crowd: Primarily 20s-30s caucasian. Even guy-girl ratio. Very crowded after 12:30! Dress: Men: Nice T-shirts or button up. Women: Wear whatever you want! Space: The venue is pretty small. It is not as small as the electric room, but it is probably a quarter of the size of PHD/Avenue/1OAK. The venue is divided into two sections, you walk in and you are at the slightly quieter bar area. Then, you walk past the gold chains to the dance floor area. Restroom line is very short, and the facilities are very clean. The gold skulls on the wall are what gold bar is most known for. There are also a lot of peculiar paintings which are fun to look at. No windows. Staff: I found that the staff were all very friendly. They(bouncers, hostess) greeted us on the way in and said farewell on our way out. My sister left her wallet at the sink in one of the restrooms, and the attendant was kind enough to hold onto it and return it. Overall: We stayed until 2:30, there were consistantly new people coming in. This place isn’t really a models/bottles kind of establishment, it has more of a local feel. I’d say it’s a great place to check out if you like: 1) Small bars 2) Tastefully dressed people 3) Good music [my opinion of good music.]. Thumbs up.

Honestly, i have wanted to come here for a while but never wanted to venture to chinatown(its practically underneath the little italy sign). Club is obvioulsy cool and opulent based on design. Got very packed arojnd 1:30 on a friday. I went with a promoter so not sure how hard it is for people to get in. The music was on point, props to the dj. Had a good time

The place was really pretty but the guy at the front door was very rude and racist. I believe his name was Steve he has blonde hair. He didn’t want to let my friend and I who are both African American into the place. Steve told my friends and I that it was only bottle table service. Then as we started to walk away he let in 3 cacasuan women in .My friend made a u turn and asked him why were those ladies able to go in without a reservation or table Steve said I don’t owe you anything then later on told my friend he doesn’t like her style. she was wearing a red dress. So we took pictures of them in order to write this review then they gave us a hug and let us in. The bartender then said I’m glad Steve let yall in they are very rude like that here… And once we came in drinks were good but only 2 tables had bottle service out of the whole place… smh

Well, I don’t like clubbing. I don’t go to clubs, period. But apparently, I ended up at one on Saturday night. In my defense, this doesn’t seem like your typical club. According to my friend, this was a slow night for Goldbar. But given that I didn’t need to wait on an egregiously long line to get in and that I got in no problem despite not wearing something tight/short/black, the initial club aversion I typically have was surprisingly absent. If we were forced to buy a bottle or refused entry because we weren’t on a guest list, I’m guessing this review would be very different. Walking in, you feel like you’re in a small palace. Sexy, glamorous, gorgeous, and yes — GOLD. I think the intimacy of Goldbar helped me reconcile my mixed feelings about being there. I’ve been to a couple of very snobby, bottle service-type places(Electric Room, most notably), and the pretentiousness that comes along with that is typically unpalatable to me. I didn’t get that feel here. Yes, there are dancing girls who bring out sparkling bottles to tables, but it didn’t disgust me as it typically does. Goldbar, despite its grandeur, is somehow warm and welcoming. It’s actually quite bright inside, which was a nice change from your typical dimly lit nightlife establishment. Though expensive, the cocktails are delicious. For whatever reason I can’t remember what I ordered, though I can tell you it was rye-based. I suppose most people here just get bottles, but the cocktails are just as luxurious as the interior.

Clearly there is a running theme with this place. The doorman is a racist jerk. I have never been treated so poorly by a doorman in the 15 years I’ve been going out in NYC. Myself and 2 Hispanic girlfriends were told«If you want to come in, you have to buy a bottle.» It was a Thursday night and the place looked completely dead. No line and Whitney Houston blaring at 12:30. Clearly they could have used well dressed, good-looking patrons. I asked the bouncer if he was serious and reminded him that it’s Thursday and I knew a promoter. He responded with«that’s how we do it here» Really? Two seconds later a group of poorly-dressed, sandal-wearing white girls walk out of the club. You mean to tell me that all of those girls(in their post-work attire and flat shoes) bought a bottle to enter? Get the f outta here. I don’t care who was in there but it was clear that the doorman didn’t want people like«us» there that night. The black bouncer saw what was going on too. He gave me a look like«sorry it sucks but I can’t do anything for you.» This place is a poor excuse for an «upscale» club. Keep in mind, it’s in little Italy. NOT the meatpacking, no fancy hotel, just a storefront on the corner around restaurants. The fact that this place has the audacity to treat people this way is disgusting. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere(anywhere) else. There are a million places in NYC that treat people with respect and do not discriminate. Places like this don’t last long anyway. Keep up the business practices Goldbar. Let’s see how long it takes for you to completely ax yourself out of the market.

This is a review of EDW, aka«Every Damn Wednesday,» the new gay-focused Michael Cohen party at Goldbar. I went last night, there was a good turnout, crowded but not suffocating. The venue itself is super cool and the music was phenomenal, a very well-mixed blend of top-40, gay throwbacks, EDM and hip-hop. Dress was generally v-necks and button downs. There were a few tanks, but overall people were ‘nicely’ dressed. EDW is probably not the place to let your freak flag fly. Overall, everything was pretty great. So why four stars instead of five? Because apparently the promoters paid a bunch of straight models to come and hang out in attempt to entice gays, and queerbaiting is just the worst.

I’m in NYC for a weekend and past by this place. After seeing the reviews about the bouncers and service I would have to agree. If you don’t plan to 1-get on the gust list by a promoter 2– only girls(witness this) 3-order bottles in advance Then don’t bother going. Walk around there are plenty of other welcoming places. I get it’s NYC and I come often but the service at the door was awful.

Models and bottles. And stuff. I have been to GoldBar a couple of times, most recently was last week. GoldBar is one of those downtown, VIP, bottle service kinds of places. The first time was a bottle service kind of experience. My most recent visit was for a company function where we rented the place out for ourselves. It is a small venue. There is a small bar area up front, and a slightly larger lounge area in the back with a wide main aisle and tables. Not a very big place. Very dark and moody. Lots of Gold skulls on the walls, too. The door is very tough unless you have a table or are renting the place out. That said, the staff at the door was very friendly and the bar staff was efficient as well, quickly turning out drinks. GoldBar isn’t really my style of place anymore, but we did have a good time and they took very good care of us.
