Godiva Chocolatier

Friends and I ordered Hazelnut Crunch Trufflelatas and a chocolate vanilla swirl soft serve.
Everything in Godiva is known to be expensive ($ 7 strawberries anyone?) so getting the ice cream and Trufflelatas at $ 6 each were a steal. The Trufflelatas had a very nice flavor. Like a subtler Nutella. The flavor is definitely hard to finish because the sweetness is so strong but it was delightful to have little hazelnut bits come up your straw.
The soft serve was the star however. The contrasting classic flavors, Vanilla Bean and Dark Chocolate were INCREDIBLY rich. Every bite was absolutely wonderful. I don’t think I’ve ever had such an amazing chocolate ice cream. The waffle cone I chose was coated at the rim with dark chocolate and crushed almonds, which to my surprise were candied. I prefer a plain taste to almonds but nevertheless it tasted great. The chocolate and caramel drizzle were the perfect accessories on top of the pretty swirl.

I came here with a friend after visiting Limani. The store was a bit packed but the sales rep will still friendly and accommodating. We got a couple of things — hazelnut truffles were delicious and deadly (getting 8 of them didn’t help with my diet one bit) :) They do allow you to mix and match prepackaged truffles (different from the single servings truffles with intricate designs underneath the glass case) but I find these really expensive (paid per pound) and cheaper to wait for a promotion or sale either at Godiva or at the grocery store (but still ended up getting a pound and half in the end).

I stop in every month to pick up my complimentary truffle and if I’m tempted, I splurge on a cone of chocolate dipped strawberries. It’s impressive to receive a gift from this fine chocolatier. I characterized their chocolates to be smooth in texture and rich in taste. Their soft serve ice cream is also decadent on a summer’s day or into the Fall months. They keep me coming back for a morsel every month.

Strawberry dipped in chocolate is so delicious here! Their strawberries are huge every time I come get mine! I love their milk and dark chocolates! Every time Im here, I get a box filled of it! You can’t resist leaving with nada! Aside from the strawberries, I haven’t tried anything else yet, but am looking forward to it sometime soon!
The staffs are generous and nice here! A lot of times when I’m here, the store is always crowded and there’s a wait line, but it goes quick! Get in here if you haven’t tried their strawberries yet. They are quite expensive, but worth it once in a while when I’m craving it!

The same delicious chocolate as elsewhere in the city, but when I asked for my free monthly piece the woman behind the counter scoffed at me and rolled her eyes. When she realized I was also going to buy something, she instantly became friendlier, saying, «Oh, I thought you just wanted your free piece.» Is that an excuse for rudeness?

I have stopped by this Godvia shop twice in a row in my latest two visits in New York City! I love their Chocolate Covered Strawberries!!! They were so fresh and soft! Just amazing:-)))))
