Went there after work with a group(8 of us) and was quite happy with the place. Food was good and reasonably priced and drinks were great! Happy Hours lasted hours for us — we were there from about 6:30P — 9P and drinks were still at Happy Hour prices — almost any drink with mid/top shelf liquor at $ 4.50 each whether it was a LI Iced Tea, Rum & Coke or a margarita you got your money’s worth. It’s a busy place so get a seat early and keep the drinks coming!

One reviewer said this is not real chinese food. While this is not home cook style and I don’t expect it at mid town, it is very tasty chinese style food. Lunch prices are great and service is fast.

It’s typical Chinese takeout, nothing special but not bad either. It’s just weird that the fried rice has green beans in it instead of peas. Nice place for quick lunch break though.

Good food at good prices. A little loud when crowded & staff leaves you alone a little too much so you will have to flag them down when you need them.

Been here a handful of times in the 7 years I’ve worked up the block from here. The food isn’t bad at all. It’s actually like any normal Chinese takeout place… but it’s an actual restaurant. This place gets PACKED for lunch everyday. This is the reason why I don’t come so often. When you actually get a seat, you’re squished in so much that you can have a conversation with the strangers on the next table. Your tables are literally inches apart. I know they just want to accommodate as many people as possible… but sitting on top of each other isn’t cool. This is why I’m only giving 3 stars. The food comes out quickly, but the servers don’t ask you if you need anything. They stealthily place your food in front of you and bounce lol. I ordered the chicken with broccoli and white rice. It tasted like any ordinary Chinese take-out. My co-worker ordered a lunch special as well. Our bill came out to a little over $ 20. So that was great. Can’t really complain much. I’d recommend coming here if you don’t mind sitting closely to other people, the crowd and the loudness. :/

If you like wonton egg drop soup you have to get the soup from here! It’s a little different from what I know because of the corn, but it’s definitely the best I’ve had!!! It’s called corn egg drop soup with wontons!!! It’s definitely worth it! Especially if you’re on your lunch break and don’t have much time but want a nice hot bowl of soup!

Honestly, if you love Chinese food, let me be even more specific. If you love dumplings and shrimp friend rice and noodle soups, do your tastebuds a favor and COMEHERE! This place has hands down the best dumplings I have had in my life and trust me, I have had many. If you go on a weekday it’s best you go early. They get so busy that there are lines outside waiting for tables. Holly Chinese food Gods, this food is delicious!!! Can’t wait to go back once I can have carbs again Haha! :) Katherine B

Happy hour is the star here. half off all drinks from 4 – 8. Food is decent. Not a fan of their fried rice but some dishes are ok. Servers arent the greatest either. They will hurry you up or forget you all together. If you’re lookign for a quick stop for happy hour and food this is an option. Other than that pass.

Definitely one of the busiest place around here during lunch time. I ordered online at 12:02pm, arrived at 12:20pm and the food was already pack and ready to go! Once I entered the restaurant at 12:20pm, everyone was standing around waiting to be seated however the host/boss(?) was very attentive and asked me what I wanted. She didn’t have the nicest manner but she was very attentive even though it was packed with people. I asked for my order and she gave it to me. On my way out the door, there were a whole batch of fortune cookies! I asked the lady and waitresses if I could take one but they were too busy taking orders and doing their thing that they didn’t hear me. Regardless I took one haha. The food was great! I had the ten ingredients pan fried noodles and the cold noodles on the side. Definitely worth the cost for just $ 9.95 the noodles were crunchy, the ingredients were packed with flavor. Everything was great! Some of the ingredients include carrots, mushrooms, shrimps, chicken strips and peas etc. I only poured the soup base half way into the noodles because I didn’t want my noodles to be drenched in sauce. I finished the noodles and I still got half a container of ingredients! I was too full to finish it. I guess for convenience, they would pack a fork, napkins and spoon into a zip lock bag which is pretty cool. I would recommend putting fortune cookie into there!

So far I’ve only had pork wonton soup and an egg roll. Great place to drop in for and afternoon snack since I work upstairs. The food is good so far. The service is fine as far as I’m concerned. This will likely become a regular place. Oh. And the have a happy hour! Points!

We wandered by this restaurant in NYC and were happily surprised at how yummy the food was. We ordered the pork noodle soup with cabbage. The cabbage bits were very very salty but still the soup was super delicious. We also had Shaghai Bok Choy with garlic… also delicious. The service wasn’t attentive at first but improved when the waitress realized that she had not brought two bowls and two spoons so that we could share our soup. We would definately recommend this restaurant.

The twice cooked pork here is legit(C7 $ 13). It’s super tender and spicy. I was pleasantly surprised. More trips to come.

Standard midtown Chinese food. Not bad, but not amazing. I’ve had lunch and take out from here several times. Had lunch with coworkers today at 12pm. Restaurant was fairly empty; most tables were occupied by 12:15pm. In my experience, they automatically bring over a teapot and cups if your group is Chinese; cold water if your group is mostly non Chinese. Pork dumplings with hot oil and peanut sauce — was okay. The dumplings were actually wontons, and they were super tiny. Not enough peanut butter sauce. Beef chow fun — I was craving this and had set my standards low.(I order this all the time in Chinatown). Surprisingly it was good. Wasn’t drenched in oil. Beef was tender. I’m glad the cook didn’t pour too much soy sauce. Chicken with string beans — good. The string beans were crunchy, not overcooked. Decent size chicken pieces. Shredded beef with bean curd and chili pepper — not too spicy. I like bean curd aka super firm tofu. Decent amount of beef. A little too much oil. Overall it was a decent meal north of Chinatown. We requested no MSG, but I felt that there was a little bit of MSG, probably from the way they marinated the meat. Must of the dishes didn’t have an exuberant amount of oil. They use a lot of corn starch for the sauce. About $ 14 per person, 4 people total.

Let me first start off by saying that I’ve been spoiled by good inexpensive Chinese food from Chinatown and Flushing so my review may be a bit biased. I came here for a birthday dinner with 20+ people. The group had an hour wait time to get a table big enough for all of us, not a huge deal cause I showed up late lol The space was a bit cramped. We sat, they passed out menus, gave us water and went around to take orders. The best thing about this place is that they offer happy hour even on weekends! And the drinks are fairly cheap :) After everything, the bill at the end of the night was roughly $ 20 per person. Food: I ordered the pineapple chicken fried rice and actually loved it, I would totally order this again. Other people around me got the capsaicin chicken(spicy!), shredded beef with tofu and double bacon something, all their entrees came with white rice. We shared amongst ourselves and were quite satisfied :)

I’ve been ordering lunch from Ginger’s for more than dozen times. The delivery is fast, and they have really awesome lunch special. If you order lunch special they will give you salad and fried spring roll for free. However, I found out that sometimes I didn’t get them so I assumed that yo probably need to place order earlier. I noticed if I placed order after 1PM, I often didn’t get salad. My favorite is Tofu Szechuan Style(aka Mapo tofu), it is just right amount of spicy and not greasy at all. Sometimes if I really want something spicy, I will order Braised Beef Filet w. Chili Sauce(水煮牛), it is not in the lunch special menu and slightly pricier, but it is really good! The beef noodle soup is also really good, if you like a bowl of soup in the cold winter, you must try it !

Luckily for me I didn’t find a big or fly in my food like most people stated. It looked very clean to me and we ordered the half pecking duck and chicken and broccoli and everything was delicious. During happy hour they’re drinks which means everything is only $ 4.50(yes that includes a Long Island iced tea) the only problem I had was that the skin to the pecking duck was not as crispy as I would have enjoyed it to be. Otherwise great spot and clean service. Based on the reviews I would not order to go or takeout

I fought returning to this place. I have been there and to order take out is nuts. There is no manners. All a rush. So I wasn’t thrilled about that. I have also ordered food and although it was tasty it wasn’t really what I expected. But I see I have been ordering the wrong things. Today I ordered wonton soup and Shrimp dumplings. WOW on both. Fresh and tasty. The wonton is super soft and you can tell it was freshly made. The dumplings were in a peanut sauce… I wish I had bread to eat the left over sauce! so good! :) So I may not be a fan of all it’s menu or maybe I am not brave enough to get out of my usual orders but this is a place that is clean, close to subway system, better choice than the fast food stuff around 7th avenue. Price at lunch are $ 9. That is a great deal for this area.

Seamless was down on the day I decided to try their chicken for the first time, I usually only order soup and noodles from Chinese restaurants. I should have taken that as a sign. After speaking with the absolutely rude order taker(a woman) I finally put in my order for sweet and sour chicken. And this is what I received … A little critter to accompany my meal. When I called to tell her and ask for a refund she told me I would have to go in person to return he food? Are you kidding me !? I paid for you to deliver to me why would I go to your restaurant and inconvenience my schedule because there was a BUG in my food!!! Ridiculous !!! DONOTORDER!

Mmm, Ginger’s. Love cheap Chinese food with an upscale feel so you don’t feel like you’re in a dirty hole in the wall? Well Ginger welcomes you with its warm Chinese food and fortune cookies. The restaurant is very clean and has a super seafoam color to it, it almost reminded me of being in a forest… haha. I haven’t eaten here, although the portions seem smaller than if you get take-out, so get take-out. I believe they have a card minimum as many Chinese places do, but if you have like eight dollars, you can get yourself a very nice lunch. Absolutely love the lunch special — they prepared it in about 15 minutes, which was quick. Although I wanted sesame chicken, they said they didn’t have that on their menu, but General Tso’s is pretty much the same thing. Opted for the chicken in garlic sauce, which came with broccoli. Gosh, it was like heaven on earth. It came with a small box of rice, an egg roll, and a salad with fish sauce. Like can you say, fanciest Chinese take-out ever?! I can’t complain. Be sure to grab fortune cookies on your way out, they’re in a huge basket!

Where to begin… How about«Hellooooo, $ 4.50 Happy Hour! How YOU doin’?» Easily one of the best drink deals in the area. They of course use bottom(way way way bottom) of the shelf liquor, but the drinks are strong and they get the job done. The food that we had was good. We had the scallion pancake, sauteed eggplant & rice, and chicken wings. I wasn’t crazy about the sauces they give you — there were 2: one was a mix of peanut butter and soy, the other duck sauce(I think). The chicken wings stole the show — they’re well seasoned and served fresh. The staff was friendly and our waitress even let us have another round of HH drinks nearly an hour after HH was over. Yay! Also, even though the staff all LOOKED chaotic and as if they were chickens running around with their heads cut off, they seemed to have everything under control. Mostly after-work, 20s-40s coworkers there unwinding.
