Hey, you get what you pay for. Had a bland hard-shell chicken taco for the first time, and it will be my last. Thanks but no thanks«Fresh Tortillas».

Appearances can definitely be deceiving. When I first came to the neighborhood I thought it resembled a Chinese take out place inside. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they offer tex-mex. A solid four stars for what it is — a laid back tex mex place that has a decent burrito in the neighborhood. So if you are looking for cheap and filling, definitely try them. A solid performer for me is the chicken burrito. They make the tortillas themselves if you’re having tacos. Hence the name, Fresh Tortilla. If you’re looking for something akin to chipotle, best to head downtown to 168th street. For people on a budget and looking to satisfy their tex mex fix without leaving the neighborhood.

If you are looking for that taco bell quality food you are in luck! If you are looking for authentic and decent Mexican food keep walking. I have ate hear once and plan to keep it that way. I will however say their flour torillas are not half bad.

Ok so i dont usually write reviews for places but i really must for this place. Its the local mexican american take out place. Its a few blocks away from my house and thank GOD! I always order either the Tostada Salad with chicken or the chicken nachos. Omfgg its like heaven in your mouth. I actually just ordered right now for delivery and my mouth is watering just thinking of it. I dont know what they put in their food but its like crack. Delivery is usually quick. About 30 min. I dont think theres a minimum for delivery but im not sure. Anyways Love it!

I order a lot from this establishment and yesterday I had a bit of an off putting experience with the delivery guy. So I was in my bedroom and I guess I had the tv a bit too loud so didn’t hear the buzzer. I open my door to check and I hear someone going straight up Donkey Kong on my front door. I rush over open the door and their is the delivery guy all of a sudden surprised and I tell him to never knock on my door like that. His excuse is that I wasn’t answering it, now I doubt he was there more than 2 minutes and the guy hit my door hard enough so that all my neighbors came out of their apts and he left marks on my door. Really unprofessional behavior, if I don’t answer then call the restaurant and have them call me don’t break my freaking door down… On another note the quesadillas were delicious.

I don’t know what is with all the hating reviews here because this place serves up solid food for the money you pay. The chefs aren’t Mexican but the food that they serve up is pretty close to authentic tasting Mexican food. I’ve had a lot of Mexican food in a variety of places to tell the difference between mediocre quesidillas and great ones. This place definitely serves fresh food(that’s cooked right when you place your order) and the guac & salsa are both fresh and spot on. The saying goes: you get what you pay for. Perhaps the negative reviews from patrons here are expecting 5 star quality food when they are dishing up $ 3 or less for a fajita. It just makes no sense. You pay for the quality you want. If you’re going into this take-out spot expecting a fine dining experience with mind-blowing flavors, then you should question why you stepped into a take-out joint at all. All in all, don’t stop what you’re doing Fresh Tortilla because you guys are definitely doing something right! Side note, the workers here are also very polite and efficient.

Called Fresh Tortilla, very excited about some greasy quesadillas, and placed an order for delivery. 45 minutes later, I called to check on said order only to be informed that this restaurant didn’t deliver to my address. Which is fine, I understand that there are zones. But I don’t understand taking the order when the restaurant knows that order won’t be delivered and I don’t understand not even informing the customer that there’s a problem.

Fresh Tortilla’s isn’t what you’d expect from the outside. It looks kind of like a Chinese take-out place, but it actually serves a variety of dishes including fajitas and burritos. I needed a quick snack so I tried out a grilled chicken fajita. It was tasty. The meat was moist, the wrap was fresh and the seasonings were spot on. It wasn’t the best fajita ever, but it was definitely worth the price(less than $ 3 if I recall correctly). If you’re in the area and need a quick(and relatively healthy) snack this is a good option.

We have ordered from here for years and while I can’t say that this is actually Mexican food, it’s not bad. For the price it is pretty good. You do get a lot when you buy the chicken by the pound. If you stay away from ordering extra condiments then you have get an okay meal at an okay price. I agree with other people here that they have never been fast on the delivery, sometimes, yes, nearly an hour. Many times we call and call and they do not pick up the phone although they are open. They have never really messed up order order since we have always kept it simple. It is slightly better than cheap Chinese takeout, but not by much. We called tonight and they said the do not deliver to Washington Heights anymore. I am guessing that if you call on a different night, they probably still do, but that is how this place rolls. Throw on some shoes and go to Pipers Kilt instead, that’s my advice. They only take cash, which also says something too.

With so many little eats joints around how do you choose? Simple, you just pick one one day, and another another day. We needed a little snack so Fresh Tortilla’s was our pick. Large menu, cheap prices. Hell, you can even order chicken, steak, or shrimp fajitas by the pound for only $ 16.50. 2 tacos(Asada al carbon, and a crunchy guacamole taco) 1 cheese and jalapeño quesadilla 1 snapple Total, $ 9 and change. The eats were ok. A little bland so their salsa is needed. I could have also gone for some hot sauce but oh well. Service was good, food came out quick, they make it fresh, and if need be, they deliver. I’d come back again for a quick bite on the go.

Chimichangas were awesome !!! Idk why people complain about this place. It’s cheap, convenient and super quick and delicious. The food is fresh and the guys running the business were polite and efficient. Definitely worth a try
