I spoke with a women named Megan Betz. And I tried to reserve a party for 8 and I tried online and my card got declined so I called someone at front desk talk me to talk email Megan and I did telling her my problem online. So she tells me to check my bank account and make sure if anything came out. So I did and I tried again and I emailed Megan again and didn’t response to me for two days so I called frames and try to pay over the phone and Megan picks up. Megan told me she has no record of us emailing and fowards my call to finance. The lady in financial put me on hold and Megan ended up picking up the call and I told her I was on hold and she came out with an attitude telling me that my card will decline again all upset and i didn’t day anything wrong. So I told her don’t worry I’ll go some where else to book. So after I told her I’ll go somewhere else Megan Betz calls saying she sent me an email with a contract for 8 people and then calls me. Mind you she told me she doesn’t have any record of my info. And I told her I’m good I booked at lucky stike …

My friend had the worst experience planning a big event at Frames. She is never doing it again. See below for the email she sent to customer service at Frames: «Really surprised your company is following up, considering you were unamenable to all my requests throughout the booking process. I would have thought that as an event coordinator, dealing with a group of 18 people, all from diverse cultural backgrounds, different age groups, different dietary customs, and different needs, you would know to be more accommodating. Especially, since we were paying over $ 1000 for our order. But, instead, you fought me every step of the way. I’ve never had a more miserable time planning an event. I was a big fan of Frames for years, and pushed for my company happy hour to be held there because of all the great times I had there. However, Frames managed to make it a disappointing experience for me up until the very end, even as we were leaving the lanes. If you’re confused, let me remind you of all the ways you and your company were unhelpful: 1. Certain individuals in our big group did not want to drink(allergies, post-stroke, etc). So, when I tried to order a non-drinking lane with 3 drinking lanes, your immediate response was „I can’t guarantee that all lanes will be together. In order for lanes to be together, it has to all be under the same package.“ We were co-workers that wanted to use this bowling event as a team building experience. You know what’s GREAT for team building? Walking over to a lane at the opposite end of the bowling alley to talk to your co-worker. GREATIDEA! 2. Certain individuals in our big group did not want to drink beer(celiac disease, etc). When I inquired about the # of drinks a cocktail pitcher for the Sports Package could allow, you said 5. Simple math here– for a big group of 18, there was definitely MORETHAN5PEOPLEPERLANE. Did that mean certain people on a cocktail pitcher lane wouldn’t get to drink, even though they were forced to pay for a drinking lane(see point #1)? OFCOURSEITDID! Your response: „Getting a beer tower would ensure everyone would get a drink.“ 3. When ordering food for 18 people with different dietary needs, it can be difficult to settle on 4 main dishes. When I asked if we could have 4 options, for each of the 3 lanes, the immediate answer was of course „NO, that is too difficult for such a large party.“ But, if we were 3 separate parties on 3 different lanes, could you have easily taken down 3 different orders of 4 dishes? Of course, because that is the RIGHT and most PROFESSIONAL thing to do. 4. Did we get what we paid for? Absolutely not. The server only brought out 2 platters of each food, for THREELANES. When I asked the server if a third platter was coming out, he said „No — that is all you paid for.“ Again, if we were 3 separate parties on 3 different lanes, would we have had platters of 4 dishes for EACHOFTHETHREELANES? Of course, because that is the RIGHT way to do business. 5. When I asked if we could distribute our large group of 18 into 4 lanes(5, 5, 4, 4) so that everyone could get adequate playing time, the immediate answer was „No. If you want a 4th lane, it would be an extra $ 150.“ For a two hour time block, bowling with 6 people per lane was a stressful time crunch. 6. It took you two times to send the right proposal, even after I was very clear about the final details of the reservation in my original email. 7. We were given only 17 drink tickets. I had to go to the front desk and ask for the 18th one that we paid for. 8. As we were finishing up at our lanes, a security guard came over promptly at 9PM, and RUDELY told us to clear the area. It’s not as if it was winter, and people needed time to put on their shoes, find their coats, and get their bearings. It was just the cherry on top of the extremely harsh customer service I received from the very beginning of this grueling booking process. 9. Your rigid attitude, combined with the inflexible schedule policy, placed stress on me even on the day of the event. It was one of the busiest work days at our clinic in months. I was extremely nervous we wouldn’t make our 7PM reservation. Would I have felt comfortable calling any other bowling company, to ask for the reservation to be pushed a little later? Yes. Was I comfortable calling and notifying you or Frames? Absolutely not. All in all, you and your company made it an anxiety-inducing, miserable, and unpleasant planning experience for me to the very bitter end. I will never plan another event at Frames again. And, I will also discourage everyone I know from planning future events at Frames. It is not worth the hassle, money, and stress for such horrible customer service. Thanks for emailing, pretending that you care about my reservation!»

Watch-out for overcharges by the waiters/waitresses with compliance from the manager. Went to Frames in December with a group of friends. Several of us ordered a few drinks and it was all paid under my card. The waitress(young woman with short blond hair and a foreign accent) added items to the bill that we did not order, which I only realized 30 minutes later when I was splitting up the bill with my friends. I strongly suspected at the time this was done on purpose because she thought I was paying for everyone out of my own pocket and wouldn’t notice the overcharge as I wasn’t keeping tabs on what everyone was drinking. But because we actually split up the bill 30 minutes later, I noticed it and went back to complain. When I told her what happened she didn’t even look at the bill or look surprised and went right away to the register to(supposedly) void the bill and bring the right one, which I believe shows that she knew that she had overcharged me. The manager also came to apologize and told me that the initial charge would be credited on my card and only the new smaller charge would be on the card. I asked for a receipt proof, with the initial amount in negative value to show it was credited and they said the credit card machine didn’t issue those. Again something very suspicious. Today I went to analyze my credit card statement and noticed that the initial overcharge was still there + the correct charge. I tried calling Frames but no one picked up, so I just disputed right away the charge on my credit card website, which means that Frames will have to pay back the amount + a fee that Visa will charge them for this(I believe it’s a $ 35-$ 50 fee). I do not recommend going to a place like this where they on purpose try to steal money from their clients.

So i attended a gathering at frames a good friend of mine was having. First impressions on frames is wow this is lovely. It’s the normal size of a typical bowling alley, but besides the 30 main lanes they have private room lanes(a first for me to see) and they have an area where there is just a bar(im thinking the lounge). The prices to bowl were slightly expensive $ 25 a game but since we were in a large group we gave a certain amount and that covered us for 2 games on 3 lanes and the food platers, and 2 pitchers of cocktails. The only problem we ran into was, The person who was throwing the event did not realize that the food platers were for a party of 2 and their were 15 of us, so those 2 platers we received were gone as soon as they were put down. I think it would have been nice if it was explained a little better, the ordering of the food process. But i believe next time we will have it down pact…

The black guy who works there was so rude and bad. Swearing at customer and even try to threat. JUSTSORUDE. I personally think that is the only rude employee. I’ve never seen such rude person.

Place is fun with a group of friends. There’s bowling, ping pong, billiards, dance floor, food and drinks to keep everyone entertained.

Besides bowling, this place provides a good time. They had a lounge for dancing and a ping pong playing area. The bar was stacked with great bartenders and interesting drinks. The pitchers are amazing and they are generous with the alcohol. Coat check is mandatory but free, judging from the prices on everything else, this is a life saver. Also the food is pretty tasty and surprising for a place like this.

Really cool place worthy of NYC… lots of fun rooms to hang out in. The food is much better than typical bowling food. try the any pasta and cheese dish(i.e. mac and cheese or lasagna)…plus their salads are really fresh. The bowling is pretty expensive. but this is an NYC experience so… look at it as an alternative to a broadway show. The location is tops(in port authority) and service is pretty nice too! If prices came down a little. it would be a 5 star slam dunk.

I came here with a group of friends this past Saturday night and had a complete blast bowling into 2am! We bought the 2-hour unlimited bowling deal and ordered 2 pitchers of drinks to share for ~$ 34/person. The environment was young and fun, somewhere fused between a bar topped with top 20 music and bowling lanes(definitely not your family friendly suburban bowling alley). Drinks were solid if you like sweet, not very complex drinks. The sangria definitely tasted more like lemon juice than sangria. There’s a required/free coat check as well as an ID-check before you enter. If you don’t make a reservation before hand, you might not be able to get in. Reservations are easy via the website, but just know that you have to pay beforehand.

(Disclosure: I came here for a corporate event so everything was free! Who doesn’t love freebies.) Food and service is great here! Waiters and waitresses were quick with drinks and food even for a large party for us. I absolutely love the sliders and fries. The burgers were simple burger patties with bacon, arugula, and their sauce. There is a great lounge space with a full bar. Want something intimate? Sure, ask for a private bowling room all to yourself. There are also great deals and specials for off-peak hours with just $ 20 for 2 hrs of unlimited play.

I love NYC but bowling here was definitely not worth it. Being that its in NY, there is no parking in the vicinity unless you are lucky enough to find a parking garage that is not full. Then you have to find the correct entrance where coat check is mandatory. You are not allowed to bring outside food or drinks, not even a bottle of water. The people doing the coat check were friendlier than the person checking our bags. You take an elevator up the lounge and it was a nice atmosphere but no one to explain anything or the process. The waiter we had wasn’t very friendly and at one point got so overwhelmed by our orders, told some of us to go order at the bar. He was rude about it as well.SMH. The music was cool and its a nice place but I was turned off by the customer service received at this establishment. I have had more fun at Lucky Strikes which isn’t too far. They have other rooms to play games such as ping pong. They also have pool tables and a full bar. I don’t know if it was because it was a busy Saturday night that we received such poor service but I don’t see myself coming back if I had a choice.

Overall I had a good time at Frames. I came here with the co workers last night and since there was a long wait for bowling we decided to shoot some pool while we waited about and hour and a half. We ordered some drinks/food and killed time in the pool table area. I got the chicken strips with fries which came out to $ 25. Pretty steep but the food was very good. The chicken strips were very large and they were delicious. Seasoned and breaded nicely. They fries were also seasoned well. The food was far better than I expected from a bowling alley. They tell you it’s a 2 drink minimum per person if your using the pool table, but since our server was pretty much non existent I don’t know how they enforce that. And about those drinks, a beer here is about $ 11-$ 12. Yeah I know where I’m at, tourist trap central midtown. But it’s still slightly more than I would expect to pay for a beer. It wouldn’t prevent me from returning though. They had a larger selection of beers on tap than most places like this. I went with the Bronx autum Pale ale. I really liked this beer, too bad it’s seasonal. Let me get to why we came here, BOWLING! when it was finally time to claim our lane my party of about 10 all crammed into one game. It’s cool that they will let you fit as many people as you want into your lane. You pay for an hour(or 2) and when the time is up the game ends. We had a good time bowling. The DJ was pretty good and that helped. He did a really good job playing songs that catered to a mainstream crowd but still slipped in some reggae/dancehall/hip hop and Rnb. I definitely felt like I was In NYC based on what he was playing and not at some Applebee’s in Wisconsin the way other DJs can make you feel with there generic selections. I had a great time but there’s just one transgression. Their automatic gratuity that is not disclosed clearly enough. I wound up paying 18% gratuity AND tipping the bar tender. It’s disclosed on the Menu somewhere that you would only see if you were looking for something on that particular part of the menu. They need to have a sign or something because it seems like they are trying to sneak that in. They lost a star from me for this disingenuous practice. The Experience was about 4 stars but I’m deducting a star for their sneaky gratuity.

We came by for my friend’s b-day after dinner. This place is among the nicer resurgence of the Bowling Alley as a cool place to go and hang out. The lights are dimmed, the bowling alleys are a little dark, the pins are lit up nicely and the music is poppin! This place is a newer Bowling alley, more stylish and loungy than the bowling alleys of yesteryear(think 1970’s and 80’s). They have a really nice bar, a nice shoe rental set up and a lounge attached on the side. They even have a set of private bowling alleys for a small party that wants to be left alone. The special we had here was a lane and 2 towers of beer for 2 hours. That was pretty good — although most of the people didn’t drink much. The game was fun and you get a good sweat out of it while having fun with your friends.

Came here for a work bowling night event and had a blast! If you like drinking and eating, this place def has good selection. Also, after your bowling event, there’s rooms with other games available(such as ping pong, pool tables and more!) Considering this is in port authority, the place is clean and service we received was great! I’d definitely recommend this spot for team night outs/functions.

Recently did an after work happy hour here(thanks Kelle!). It wasn’t crowded at all and the staff was really friendly. The the seating at the lanes has seen its better days(could definitely be cleaner — stains!), but overall the seats were clean enough that I did not see any crumbs or spills. There was no separate shoe rental for us and they did not hold your shoes hostage like many other places. The shoes were clean and not stinky thankfully. Drinks were on point — we had a pitcher of margaritas. Food not bad either. I really liked the nachos(chips not too greasy). Also a fan of the hummus platter which came with naan(meh), carrots, cucumber, and broccoli. Overall a great experience.

I along with another colleague organized an office team outing at Frames. Meghan handled our arrangements and we ended up going with the Executive package which consisted of 2 hours of bowling along with an open bar that included Beer, Wine, Sangria & Soda &5 food options replenished throughout the evening. This place is great for large groups, the activities they offer are bowling, ping pong and pool. It has a nice lounge type atmosphere & the staff/servers were helpful and attentive throughout which made for an enjoyable evening. The place is clean, the music was entertaining, the drinks/food were plentiful and enjoyed by all! We will definitely return for another team outing in the future!

We came to Frames Bowling for a team outing and it was overall a good experience. The worst aspect of the experience was the reservation process, for a group of 15 people. We tried to discuss pricing options over the phone however the person we talked to initially didn’t provide correct information(versus what was displayed online). We had at least three or four back and forth calls before everything was settled. The place itself is actually located in Port Authority(on the second floor), which is awkward but also convenient when trying to the leave — the back literally opens into the MTA. The area seemed clean, or at clean as is possible for a midtown location. The lane functionality worked well and we had no technical problems throughout the entire 2-hour stint. We ordered a few beer towers — which were awesome and everyone loved them. The food was … well. it’s fried and greasy so pretty standard.

Annoyingly strict with I.D. and dress code rules, guess it’s a hoodrat deterrent. After all it is in Port Authority and any olé body goes through port authority *shudders* The location of frames is hip, modern and clean. The food is good for«bowling alley food» and the Sangria will get you tipsy. I love the big screen T.V.‘s at the end of each lane. The lounge is spacious with sufficient«2 step» dance space — please do not come with your subway«ITSSHOWTIME» dance moves. The d.j. The evening I went on a Saturday night was a little. meh.boring. I would definitely come again but not one of my favorites in its class.
