Fontanas Pasta &heros

Great Restaurant. Its a sleeper, buried in my old neighborhood that changed dramatically since I lived there. We had lunch, but I chose the Fradiavolo Scungilli and we also had the Fradiavolo Squid, Shrimp, Clams and Mussels over linguini. Everything was quality, including the service. The waiter made everything right for us. I don’t eat much Italian out. For me to give it 5 stars means it was grandma level (ok grandma i exaggerated a little) … She gets mad.

My family and I were in the mood for Italian take out, I came across this restaurant on Unilocal… so I said what the heck let’s try it… the service is excellent they delivered right on time, the girl who answered the phone was very friendly and had lots of patience… we ordered the fried calamari, the baked stuffed clams, motzarella sticks, buffalo wings, and a order of chicken parmagan… I must say everything was delicious, my only issue was that the chicken parm was extremely dry it had almost no sauce on it, I ordered extra cheese on it aswell and they failed to put it on, also the chicken was very under seasoned… my other issue was the pricing, originally I had also ordered a pizza pie with a topping, when I asked for the total, she told me that it was $ 110… I try to be a fair person, and when it comes to good quality food I am not cheap, but it was too much money for such little amount of food, I ended up canceling the pie and ordering the rest just to try it out, although the pricing of the other items were a little high aswell… Overall the things that I did order taste good… I would definitely give them another try…

I came through here with my family 2 nights ago and have to say that the food was absolutely incredible! The funny thing is, we were initially going to head to the pizza place next door. I was next up in line and my dad called me to stop me because he wanted to try out Fontanas (I believe they’re owned by the same family). It was such a cute, well kept spot, with waiters that pay very close attention to detail, making sure everything is just the way you want it. I would like to say again that the food was SO good. I took a little bit back home, reheated it in the microwave and it was still SO good. I’l definitely be back!

This place is amazing! Everything they make is delicious and the portions are very adequate. My family and I have once a week easily. Great to dine at or order in. Staff is extremely friendly.

Who new, so close to home and so good. Food and service were both excellent, even on a busy night like Valentines Day. The inside is actually much nicer then it appears to be from the outisde. I would highly recommend going.

I know that in my previous review that I gave this place 4 stars which went towards food quality environment and price /​now I feel that needs to be changed although I wish there were half stars available there are only whole so my 4 shall now be a 2. Reason being their prices. I just find it hard to believe that the Philly cheesesteak hero and an order of fries should cost $ 17, whoops I’m going over by $.20! Would you believe that doesn’t even include a drink for that price I think I could’ve done better going to TGIF or something like that I probably would’ve received more food as well of the same or better quality. But that’s just my opinion as one person. So if you can stand to spend the extra money every time… more power to you, I however choose not to pay such a high price for a average meal.

My go to spot for pastas and salads. The people are professional and friendly. The food is always fresh and delicious.

Excellent service! ! Tasty fresh hot dishes. Mmm mozzarella sticks, chicken noodle soup, linguini special. Not to mention the Chicken marsala. Highly recommended 5 stars. Clean place, warm atmosphere, tv screens everywhere. A perfect choice !!! #1

The food is really tasty and a very home like environment is presented to you the minute you walk in the door. Was t sure if i wanted to stay or take my food to go when i arrived i opted to dine in and i will definitely be back. The service was fast and when the food arrived it was delicious. I have the penne with broccoli, chicken, garlic and oil my sister had the baked ziti. Both meals were rather delicious. the prices were moderate too. I will most certainly be back.

Hands down Fontana’s is the best authentic Italian food in Mill Basin. While Brooklyn can be inundated with Chinese food and fast food joints, it’s awesome having true pasta options in Mill Basin. I looove pasta and cream sauces so why wouldn’t I think Fontana’s is the best. The food is always fresh, the portion size is decent and it is an absolute win over Olive Garden any day.
You are welcome to dine in like many of its neighbors do with a bottle of wine as a companion or take your food to go. The staff is accommodating if you have any issues. If your looking for a cheap meal, this is not your place. Go next door and grab a slice of pizza from Original Pizza. The food price seems to be based on the quality and your ability to find anything like it nearby– uhhh fughgedaboutit! Enjoy this authentic food.

My husband and I were craving something yummy locally. I enjoyed my previous meal at Fontana’s so we decided to stop in again tonight. The staff is very welcoming and the waitress was super sweet. We started with minestrone soup which was really good. My favorite was the filet sole oreganata. It was so good and full of flavor. It’s nice to have neighborhood joints that can still pride themselves in good food and good service. Looks like we’ll be coming back for more !

My boyfriend and I loved their pasta. Delivery took about 45 mins but it was worth the wait and I definitely was pleased with their professionalism over the phone and the delivery man’s friendliness.
We ordered the chicken pesto linguini, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and garlic bread. Along with our entrees were Italian bread.
Would definitely order again and recommend!

I was having a crappy day And wanted some comfort food (ie carbs) And this place hit the spot. I got take out And it was delicious! Fried calamari, ziti, chicken Alfredo oh my!

This restaurant is one of the fancier high end ones in my neighborhood, and is perfect for both casual or fancy dates, dinner with family and friends, etc.
I absolutely love the service here; the waitresses/​waiters are always nice and efficient. The seating is very comfortable and the décor in the restaurant is on point! With tvs placed around the place and the radio playing, there is always some entertainment so it’s not awkwardly quiet.
Delicious food in huge servings! Highly recommend the eggplant rollatini and the baked ziti! I never have to wait too long for the food and there is free delicious bread served as an appetizer.

I saw this place on my way to visit my friend a few times. I finally gave it a try and WOW. First off I was SO, hungry when I checked it out.
I was getting takeout and asked what was good. The cashier right away suggested the penne alavodka… It was probably the best I’ve ever had. I’ve had a lot of Italian takeout and delivery in the past– and let’s just admit that when you order pasta; it never arrives aldente. Well they managed this. Portion was huge so I had lunch the next day.
Also ordered the chicken parm hero and it was awesome. Salad was small but fresh.
I can’t wait to try the pizza next door– definitely better and more affordable than the other Joint nearby… the staff is super friendly and quick.

food is ok but not even close to as good as a couple of the other Italian restaurants in the area which are a little more expensive so if your ordering out and want to save a few bucks then this is your spot. The hero’s are the best choices for this place so stick to that and you’ll be satisfied.

Passed this place so many times and finally decided to try it. So glad I did. Chicken marlasa very tender and great taste. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken very good, gave it to two three year olds they were practically licking their plates. The focaccia is good but could be a bit more crispy. Ordered a grilled chicken and broccoli rabe hero but got the one with grilled chicken it was really good. The only reason I gave them a 4 was for the mix up on the sandwich and the focaccia.
