This is a long overdue review… I’ve taken several classes at this studio — taught by Olga & Mimi, but looking at their schedule there are tons of great teachers that have classes at Five Pillars — since first discovering it in January, and have honestly loved them all! It’s so welcoming, quaint and relaxing, the vibe is like a fabulous yogi friend invited you over to her super chic & lovely apartment on Madison Ave for a yummy candlelight flow among friends. I try to make it to Olga’s monday night class whenever possible. Her playlist is not your typical yoga music but that made it all the more interesting. She teaches a solid balanced vinyasa flow, mixes in some core work, and gives lots of hands on adjustments which is awesome! The studio is so tranquil, especially at night with the soft street lights down below. It really is a great studio and I would highly recommend it to anyone living or working on the UES. Definitely a nice alternative for those looking for a more intimate experience than Pure, but still with super high quality yoga instructors.

I bought an unlimited week on Gilt because I figured it would be a good way to begin practicing Yoga, as I have been putting it off for quite some time now. I am so pleased to say that Five Pillars is absolutely wonderful. I was inspired to write this review because of Erika and Dublin. These instructors are really amazing. Because it is a small space, students have the luxury of getting special attention from instructors; Dublin pays special attention to each and every student, as he provides helpful and progressive adjustments throughout the duration of our practice. Erika, a restorative master, pays really, really special attention to the protection and comfort of your body. The studio is clean, quiet, small, and intimate. Everything you should want in a yoga studio, including amazing teachers, is in Five Pillars.

I only recently started practicing yoga, and after finding this studio on Classpass, it quickly became my favorite for many reasons. Not only is the studio beautiful and the equipment clean, but the staff are so warm and welcoming to yoga beginners/class pass members! After just a few visits, Brad at the front desk learned my name(such a small task but his customer service skills and friendliness contribute so much to the warmness of Five Pillars that it would be unfair to not acknowledge him in this review). I have taken the basics class with Meg, Vinyasa I with Nora, and therapeutics with Erika, and have loved each class and each instructor. The instructors also learn your name, provide modifications to each pose, and verbalize yoga instructions so well! Overall, a great studio!

This review is for Yoga Therapeutics with Erika. I have been exercising regularly now for about 5 years and in that time I’ve attended several yoga classes… none of which I really liked that much. But I did a crossfit workout that really beat me up and I needed some TLC so I decided to try Five Pillars. Erika was supportive and offered a lot of options for each set of poses. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards… very thankful for this positive experience. The studio itself is beautiful and very clean but also small, so there are not too many people in each class(which is great). Highly recommended.

What a great yoga studio! This tiny and tucked away yoga studio is the perfect getaway from your busy life. Walking into this very clean and zen facility really sets you up for a relaxation and rejuvenating experience. I’m glad the neighborhood has Five Pillars Yoga.

This is not the madhouse at Pure. This is a really clean, intimate, gorgeous studio. I’ve taken 4 classes so far and all were varied and good. There’s no rush to get the next class in and the music is good. Take a night class with candles and sleep so soundly. They also have a teen class but not sure what that entails. Call ahead to make sure you’re taking the right class for you. Price is slightly higher than the going rate but the personal attention make it much more like a semi-private than a group class.

Just took my first class here and absolutely loved it! Everything about this studio is great: quaint, clean, intimate and gorgeous. The vinyasa class I took with Meme was challenging and made me sweat, which I love! They have Jade mats(my fav) for $ 2 rental which is totally fair. I will definitely be back and telling all of my yogi friends!

I’m in love with this studio. The instructors are insightful, helpful, and super relaxed. I must know what they drink in the morning? Plus, the $ 20 classes for students! It’s a deal for me.
