This is a one of a kind garden! I was just walking by yesterday and saw the art work. I love street art! Even a tree was painted. I must admit the plants need a little care. I have seen this space in really bad shape a few years ago. This is a huge improvement! It doesn’t take long to walk through. I even got some shots in the alley behind the garden. The art work flows through the neighborhood. There’s not much else to rate or review. If you like this type of art, it’s for you to enjoy. If you don’t like it, just avoid the garden! You can walk with the traffic along Houston!

Always colorful. Always changing. Always inspiring. I LOVE the First St. Garden Art Park. At first glance you may not even notice this uniquely beautiful park next to Houston… but now that you know its there make a point to wander through and check out amazing artists’ work.

I run by here nearly every other day! Always a reminder that I am in the East Village… This is a city garden/community space for the visual arts. It was rehabilitated from a vacant lot years ago to public art space for variety of different artists. These artists have exhibited sculptures, murals, and a variety of other free-standing pieces. There are number of different colorful and stark murals from different artists that currently reside in the space. There are a few benches for you sit and look at the different murals. The space stretches across Houston St from Second Avenue towards First Avenue. The entrance to the park is on 2nd Ave, right above Houston St. Cool space with lots of room. Probably too chilly in the winter, but a much more interesting place to chill in the shade during the summer.
