Life is short and there is little time to argue with foolishness. Yet, some things must be answered. The review by the person who feels we mishandled her project is no doubt harmful, but is sadly off base. There are falsehoods too numerous to mention. Nevertheless, in this day and age, it seems everyone has much right to defame as speak the truth. For anyone who has ever been misrepresented, this may have meaning. So I invite anyone who is truly in need of quality book binding to visit our Shop and Showroom and see for themselves the fine work we do on premises. When you do, you will visit a place that employs skilled professional craftsmen and graphic artists. You will be able to bring in your torn and tattered treasures or special projects and spend as much time as you need in inspecting our samples and speaking with the staff. There is no charge for the evaluation of books to be restored or pre-project fees and your time in discussing a project has no limit. For appointments, please call us at 212252‑0129 or email We are open Monday-Friday 8:30 — 5:30 and closed Saturdays till Nov. 1. From Nov. 1 — Dec 15 we will be open Saturdays by appointment only Please call 212252‑0129 for Saturday appointments. Thank you, Mgr.

Mistakes happen. That’s an inevitable part of life. How we choose to resolve them is what reveals character and integrity. I spent around $ 400 printing a grad school thesis and I was not happy how it was done given how much I paid. But joe re did it for no charge and shipped it to me at no charge. I was immensely impressed by his conflict resolution skills and for that he deserves five stars

Joseph at Fine Binding did a TERRIBLE job. I paid $ 475.00 and received a 41 page album with the wrong graphic on the cover, missing graphic on the spine, photos that were pixilated due to improper sizing for their resolution(sized at HIS recommendation,) double siding when single siding had been requested, and plenty of attitude when I called him out on his errors. I offered a compromise of a 50% refund, but he refused unless I agreed to absolve him of all blame for the multiple mistakes he had made. It was more important at that point for me to share my experience with the community than to receive half of the price in refund, which seemed like«hush money.» The only thing he offered to redo was the cover, and what’s the use of a lovely cover on a substandard album of pixilated photos that have been laid out improperly? PLUS, he still wouldn’t be able to use the graphic we had agreed on at the outset of the project. I got a MUCH better album for $ 60.00 from Shutterfly– it was laid out just as I had ordered, the cover was exactly what I had wanted, and not a SINGLE photo was pixilated– because they were sized appropriately, thanks to Shutterfly’s automatic low resolution alert(by the way– these were the EXACT same photos– which Joseph claimed would appear pixilated no matter what.) Lesson learned– and thank you, Shutterfly!
