negative stars if I could. I went in for acupuncture and there was no explanation as to what the procedure was or questioning of what was ailing me. I added on a massage at the end and I get a better massage from my puppy when he walks across my back. Seriously. If that wasn’t bad enough his phone rang during the massage and proceeded to answer it and have a full conversation while«massaging» me. Again, seriously. With so many different options in Chinatown and beyond this is a definite must miss. ps no credit or debit cards accepted.

Appearances can be deceiving. This basement joint looks like some shady fly-by-night unsanitary operation, but John Guo who runs it has 30 years of experience in TCM and is extremely knowledgeable about bodies and how to give them the sort of massage that will heal instead of hurt. The furniture isn’t shiny and new, but it’s always clean, and if you speak Chinese or Cantonese, Mr Guo will give you a rundown of exactly what’s going on with your problem joint as he works on that knot in your shoulder, coupled with a dose of fatherly advice on how you should make time in your busy day to stretch. If you don’t speak Chinese, his English isn’t great but he communicates well enough to comprehend what’s ailing you, and his understanding of what your body’s telling him will take it from there. You’ll benefit from his expertise either way. There are plenty of massage joints in Chinatown, but I know I always worried about whether I was going to be pummelled by some quack who would injure me(it’s happened a couple of times), and now that I’ve found this joint I can honestly recommend Mr Guo as someone whom I trust implicitly to know his stuff and to do the right thing for my body. Thought he deserved a review in case anyone else was looking for the same!
