Giving them a try; shirts are $ 1.75 each and they wash and fold by the pound. Gave them a ton of bed linens and towels, suits and shirts and everything came back ok.
Only concern is timing on pick-up and delivery; my building concierge says it has sometimes taken 2 calls for laundry pickup, and if you need wash and fold on same-day, or are pressed (no pun intended) on dry cleaning, I’d recommend writing a note or calling to inquire first. Will update as I continue trying them out.

I was in the area and had just purchased a Tahari pantsuit for a great deal. But the price came at another price — the pants were a tad big and needed to be pulled in a size. So I came to Essex for some help.
I was happy with their service for two reasons. One, the older gentleman who helped me was patient as I explained what I wanted. His English wasn’t very good but he sought to clarify by showing me on the pants how he interpreted my ask. Second, I was on a tight timeline but they were accommodating. Although the younger man running the shop hesitated at the quick turnaround needed, the older gentleman assured me that it would be done by the day I needed it.
In the end, the pants came out well! It was under $ 30, which was a good price imo. And they worked under my time constraint. All in all, I consider that great service!

Worst dry cleaning in NYC! Supper expensive but that’s not the problem. I sent cloth for wash and dry cleaning with a time to come and pick it up. Cloth were not ready and we were visiting in the city and left with no cloth to wear. This place was late with our cloth on 3 days and we had to go every day and ask him to get t as he committed to a day and time. Finally we got our cloth and we had stain all over the white cloth. We came back and asked him to fix it but the guy told us it is not his fault and he can try and send it again but he can’t promises that the stains he made will be out and on top of it he said we need to pay for it again. Worst service we have ever experience! Avoid avoid avoid!!!

The service was very good. The staff was polite. My laundry was done when they said it would be done and I was satisfied with their work. If you live here or are visiting like I am, I give this place five stars.
