Cool event. Wow, there was so much food! Got there a little late but had a great time and still got to try everything. Loved the noodles and the duplings. Will definitely come back.

Finally Unilocal NYC goes to K-town. This was a great event!!! First time I, see buffet style in a event so a lots of food and it was server what ever you want to eat. The food was amazing, had a great taste: Chap Chae noodles Seafood Pancakes Spicy Rice cakes Korean fried dumplings Kimchi Spicy pickled cucumbers Bean sprouts Brown/white Rice Beef They also were giving away lots of Tiger Beers. The only bad thing was that it was kind of hard meeting new people, because everyone was in separate tables with their plus one. Thanks Ruggy, Jando(CM for Queens), Tiger beers and the Seoul Garden

Having only eaten Korean food once before(more than an un-named Unilocal twin) I came into this event fairly open minded to try out the cuisine. I was impressed to see a whole large buffett spread set up by the staff. As any good Unilocaler would, I tried everything on the buffett and had some favorites. The seafood pancakes, spicy pickled cucumbers, and Kimchi were amongst the best. The Kimchi had a bit of a kick too it, but the spice added to the flavor. The fried dumplings also were good enough for me to grab a few more on round two. The tiger beer was great to wash down the food, and by the end I felt stuffed and satisfied to have been able to sample all the different Korean food choices. Special thanks to the owners/workers for checking up what I thought about the food and making suggestions. As always to Ruggy and Jando for helping set it all up. Korea-town is only 1 Express subway stop away for me, I shall make a concerted effort to return for a third round of Korean style food.

Too full to type, fingers getting fat. Awesome Elite event by Seoul Garden in Ktown. Greeted by the awesome staff of Seoul Garden and Ruggy. Food served buffet style, my stomach was already growling while I was walking up the two flight of stairs to get into this awesome place. Served up and I ate up: Chapchae noodles Seafood Pancakes Spicy Rice cakes Korean fried dumplings Kimchi Spicy pickled cucumbers Bean sprouts Brown/white Rice Beef The spread was so good and filling. The Kimchi and pickled tasted a bit sweeter than other Korean joints I’ve been to, but still tasted pretty good. Most of the Elites and their plus ones stuck together, so not much interactions. People mainly just came, ate up and just left. There were plently leftovers and seating was very relaxing. Thanks to Seoul Garden and Ruggy @ Unilocal for throwning down this awesome event. Shoutouts to Jando for thinking I was carrying a bomb in my huge backpack, no there was no bomb in there, just lots of crap.

Great event! One thing that might help a little bit with the atmosphere would be to get«warmer» lighting overhead — it’s a great space, but it looks a little bit«cold». The food was plentiful. My favorite was the potstickers — they went really well with the spicy soy sauce. I felt like the jap chae could use a little bit more flavor, but that probably was just a function of sitting in the warming pan for some time. The tables were a little bit spaced out, as others have mentioned, but we had a very unique event situation. The average diner group would probably appreciate the slightly greater distance between tables. I think everyone was very pleasantly surprised by the owner’s personally being there to oversee and make sure we all were able to enjoy our experience.

After walking past the restaurant twice I finally saw my brother waiting outside at around 7pm. The restaurant is on the second floor and is pretty difficult to find but once you do, it is worth it. I’ll start with the food because that’s the most interesting part. The food, like all the other reviews said, is traditional/authentic korean food. My favorite items were the seafood pancake which was super delicious, the string bean and crab meat salad, though I really only ate the string beans from it and they were great, and the kimchi which was spicy and I love spicy food. I would definitely come back and try other dishes. The event was not too crowded. On one hand, compared to the previous event I went to where they served tapas to 100+ people and everyone jumped at the tray the second it came out the kitchen, there was more than enough food and it was served buffet style. There was tiger beer in the back, though I found it really light and not the type of beer I usually drink. Because there were so few people and many seats, there was not much interaction besides who ever you came with. But I enjoyed the event overall.

The Quick: Lots of authentic Korean food, Tiger beer, and good times! The Details: I really enjoyed trying this spot that under normal circumstances I would probably never find. It’s on the second floor and squished between a few other Korean places and a bunch of karaōke bars. Let me tell you, I’m glad I found this restaurant for their event. They featured dinner sized portions of so many different menu items — many of which I would never think to order on my own. It was great to sample and devour different authentic Korean options while sipping on Tiger beer(love the Tiger beer guy). It was such a treat meeting the owner and speaking to her about her family’s restaurant(family owned for 17 years!). Overall a lovely night. The Damage: Thank you Unilocal!and thank you to everyone who helped make this night success.

This was my first Unilocal event! As a big Korean food fan, I was super excited for this. I enjoyed the buffet style of the food and that there was more than enough food for everyone. It was really nice to mingle with other foodies! It wasn’t too crowded and enough room for everyone to get a seat. The food was all traditional Korean dishes such as bulgogi, spicy rice cakes, kimchi, seafood pancakes, dumplings, bean sprouts, string beans with fake crab, and japjae. They food itself was average, I wouldn’t consider it a lot better than other restaurants in K-town. The seafood pancakes were so flour-y. Like 10% seafood, 90% other additives, but the flavor was still good. Same with the dumplings. Although they were too oily, the flavor was still good. Although I thought the food was average, I really enjoyed the event and meeting other Unilocalers. Also, the owner was super friendly and welcoming!
