Ordered food from here before and it has gone from good to ok to bad to horrible. Tonight was their last chance to make things right and they failed miserably. First I waited 2 Hours… That’s right 2 hours. Then the food showed up cold and over cooked. DONOTORDERFROMHERE. There are better options available.

this is a late review we gave this place 3 chances, but 3 strikes and your out. we never dined in here, but we had it to go and for delivery. 1st try — we ordered here the combo special and the chicken was salty and was just terrible 2nd]— to go— we thought that the chicken will be better on our 2nd try and we were still disappointed, the food is either too salty or too vinegary or not seasone at all. and they give you a very sloppy salad that’s been 3 days old. I don’t know why we even went for 3rd try, but we were desperate enough to get a delivery order 3nd try– for delivery. it took at least 1 ½ before we got our food and its not too far from us, its just a block away, so we didn’t accept the food and turned It away. who would wait for a 1 ½ hour delivery… seriously…

— The standard run of the mill Dominican food. It’s good not great, not much else to say about this place. You probably want to stick to delivery, the dine-in experience is what you’ll find at any diner.

I love Nuevo Caridad for their roasted chicken. Huge portions for a good price. Really delicious, flavor-injected roast chicken. The yellow rice isn’t too salty and the beans are also perfect.(you either find dry, sticky beans or oversalted rice if you find a good roast chicken joint south of 116th in the low 110s… or vice versa — dry chicken with really good beans and rice) It’s a guy’s place with huge portions and lots of baseball themed dishes named after the famous baseball players who deem it their favorite dish there. Their stewed meats and fish are also yummy. I love the beef stew and the goat stew. Their delivery also helped immensely when I was recovering from the flu this past winter and needed really good comfort food. However, I still prefer Mi Abuelita across the street for the non-rotisserie/grill items. When I had the pernil there, it was a bit dry… but then my first pernil was at Thanksgiving dinner, made by very meticulously fussy El Salvadorian moms and aunts. Their mofongo is also a bit dry as well.

Ok, first, it’s not the place to eat out in a festive sense of it; second, and foremost, it’s a great place just to EAT. When you’re really hungry. And your pocket is not that full. We had an awesome steak for $ 10 that we shared and it was enough for both of us; it came with a Huge plate of rice, and beans — the price announced as a lunch special. Funny(and great) thing is that their L. Special goes«until closing» as they said. The service is not good at all, but I’m pretty fine with that: the amount of the quality decent-priced meal outwards that flaw

*EDIT* 7÷20÷10 This place is now under a new name: Tinaja’s. I have now lived across the street from this delicious ‘Casa De Slow-Roast Pollo’ for over a year now and have ordered what it does best countless times. Simply put: the chicken here ROCKS! It’s delicious, moist, slow-roasted, with some nice crispy/browny bits all over. The beans are delicious as well. For the price they charge, it’s a STEAL! FYI: this place becomes a hoppin’ Dominican nightspot on weekends.
