Meh, the food here was bland and mediocre — I’ll likely never come back. The food didn’t taste bad but it really didn’t taste great or memorable even. I’d skip this place since there are many other better Mexican restaurants in the area.

This is where you go to get a home cooked Mexican meal. Is this the best mexi food I have ever had in my life? no(but that category has some fierce competition). Is this totally delicious, super comforting, and from a local business that is incredibly nice? Absolutely! They have some great dishes that stand out, and the rest of there food is really good– so I love them. Plus they are really sweet. I approve!

I had the Carne Asada Taco(2 Tacos with Rice and Beans) and it was very delicious. At first I was iffy with the price for what I ordered because back home in Queens I can order the Carne Asada for $ 2.50 each. But whatever, I’m not in Queens, I was in Downtown haha. I’m most likely to find myself coming back here because the food and service was great. I really enjoyed my comfortability in the restaurant and I also loved the authenticity of Mexican foods — screw Chipotle… Haha.

TL;DR Pretty good FAT@$$ burrito You ever been not disappointed in a burrito? Well don’t come here if you plan to cause their burrito will not disappoint. This is a knife and fork endeavor by the way as they put sauce over their burrito just to tell you that you’re not eating this with your hands. Even with a knife and fork your attempts to eat like the queen of england will not succeed. It will unwrap before you and make you use your fingers like a savage. Do not eat the burrito if you are trying to engage in sexual acts afterwards with someone as I’m pretty sure that person will be disgusted by you afterwards. overall this place was good and teh price was«ok» it came out to be over $ 10 from what I remembered.

Amazing atmosphere, impressive service!!! Maria extremely attentive. The margaritas are delicious and the empanadas with pico de gallo on the side was awesome and tasty. I will definately enjoy adding this restaurant to my go to spots for a great time and good food. A great place for big groups.

AWESOME Mexican food in NYC! i’ve had mexican in NYC before and had been scarred for a while, but stumbled upon this place — lol i liked the name — so i stopped in and had a bite. the people are super friendly, and cute little restaurant with plenty of space and delicious food. i don’t think there’s any other mexican restaurant in NYC that can truly call themselves authentic!

Something between a 3 and a 4. Was here for Lunch. Had a horchata and a milanesa y pollo torta. Horchata was fine, milanesa y pollo was solid. Needed a bit more spice but the fried chicken was well a nice fry. Good place, nice people. A bit pricy but it is well this area. I’ll go back for their well«famous» mole.

I’m only reviewing Sunday Brunch and the menudo(aka Hangover soup). Great budget brunch with really tasty egg enchiladas… under $ 10 for two with rice, beans, chips salsa and a big glass of tasty Sangria… I tremendous bargin. The Menudo is just awesome… really tasty just spicy enough without burning a hole in your hungover stomach and chock full O tripe. Now is this the greatest most authentic Mexican food in NYC? No, but it’s a very warm inviting sunny place with friendly attentive staff and it has tasty well priced food… What more do you need on a sunday morning?

«The Agave and The Prickly Pear» has a nice ambiance, although a bit isolated(location-wise); the service is good, although they didn’t give me back all my change. So far that’s a 3 star but… I tried the pico de gallo and pickled peppers«chiles en vinagre»(we usually call that escabeche in Mex). Both disappointing. First of all because they are sold as separate sides instead of included with meals(or maybe they do come with some, I’m not sure). The former not spicy, had 0 chile, where is the«pico»? Also, not that fresh. $ 3? Hmmm The latter didn’t taste very pickled and the real deal has other veggies in there such as wavy-sliced carrots and cauliflower. This was just jalapeño slices soaking in vinegar. $ 2 The rest of the menu honestly looks mostly Tex-Mex except for the specialty mole dishes which I may come back and try — not sure since they all come with meat I think, which I don’t eat. So yeah, I want to go back for brunch, mole, or drinks and give the place another chance. p. s. I’m particularly harsh with Mexican food because I grew up in Mexico. A lot of people seem to like this place which is fine but I have to say I have no idea what they mean by «authentic»(some dude even ranks Taco Bell as the most authentic in the city).

Others have said this as well, but this is about as authentic mexican food as I have found in the city(except maybe taco bell?). Service was quick and helpful, and everything was fresh. Had the chipotle chicken tacos(or something like that) which were perfectly filling. Prices are extremely reasonable. Definitely satisfies the mexican craving.

This is a truly authentic Mexican restaurant. I’ve been here a few times. The owner is actually there greeting people. And cooking in the back. Everyone is always super friendly, and make you feel like you’re home, not just at a restaurant. Love love love the Fiesta Platter! The mole is their signature dish, and it’s really for a reason. I grab their stuffed jalapeños every time I go, and order it for delivery. Quesadillas, and chimichangas are super good.

Authentic neighborhood Mexican restaurant. This is a no frills restaurant with a simple diner like setting, but the food is excellent. I have tried the tortas, chilaquiles, and tacos from here. All of them came in sizeable portions and were all delicious. This place reminds me of Mexican places I go to in Queens(with slightly higher prices though). They also have a Mexican brunch(huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos, etc.) every day until 4pm which you don’t usually find.
