If I could give 0 stars I would because this guy not only gave 0 help, he acted extremely put out when I tried to buy 4 bolts at 5 till 6PM on Saturday.
The first words out of his mouth as we stepped through the door were not a greeting but, «we’re closing soon». «Great», I thought to myself, «I only need a couple of minutes.» I tell him I only need 4 bolts, «what length?» «4 inches.» «What size?» «I’m not sure.» This was my mistake. Immediately his exasperated attitude is increased with the addition of an eye roll. Never mind that glancing at some bolts for 30 seconds would have been enough for me to recall that I needed ¼″, this guy clearly had a hot date or something that was far more important than assisting me for 5 minutes until their actual scheduled closing time.
At that point I turned and walked out with my wife informing the next customers entering that his statement «we’re closing soon» truly meant «we’re closed and I’m not willing to serve you.»
I really enjoy supporting local NYC businesses when I can, but this guy’s attitude forced me to head down to Home Depot. Will the loss of the $ 8 transaction I made at Home Depot hurt him? No. But I can promise I’ll never spend a dime in this store in the future either.

Avoid!
So disappointed.
I went to get an item (a snake to open my drain), bought it at 1:30pm, went to my apartment, didn’t open or used the item, came back to the store at 2:15pm, wanted to return the item, there was a different guy who told me — no refund or exchange.
I told him that I just bought it (30 – 45 min ago) nothing was open or used and
He said, I’m sorry, I can’t refund you back.
This is my first review in Unilocal as I really was shocked!

Very helpful staff, I was greeted as soon as I walked in and offered assistance. I only needed one item and it took the sales associate about 5 seconds to direct me to it so I can’t really say much about the overall selection, but from my own single experience, I would definitely come back here again.

this is a great busy local hardware store that sell’s just about anything that I need for my Apartment. They do lamp repair’s, cut key’s and are locksmith’s.
The staff is so friendly and helpful. Thanks Eastside for all your help.

Great store and location. Friendly service and expert advice. Had keys cut and used their handyman. I’ll definitely be returning to this store.
