This place always seems to have expired product out on the shelf, I’ve never shopped at a Duane Reade where I’ve came across this issue consistently. Watch what you buy here(in terms of food), READ the dates… especially for discounted items.

Usually go to the other location in port authority. But this one tAkes the cake. From the moment I walked in I was greeted. Everyone was supper chilled and helpful. I was browsing around when one of the staff members(«Duane») approached me and offer his help. At the moment I was just browsing, but I felt so comfortable that I decided I was going to buy a few things since I was already there and it was pleasurable to shop in such a kool atmosphere. Definitely will be coming back here for not just skin care but some last minute grocery shopping.

This review is for the Pharmacy. This had been my go to place since the store open. The Pharmacy states it closes at 9:00 p.m. on Mondays. I just got off a flight and got to Duane Reade Pharmacy at 8:47 to pick up my prescription. The store was rather empty and no one was in line at the pharmacy. I went to the counter to get my prescription and was told by Lauren Adia, the Pharmacist, working that I would have to come back on Tuesday morning at 8:15 a.m. to get my Rx. She said she didn’t have time to fill it tonight. What does closing at 9:00 p.m. refer to if they can’t fill my prescription? Didn’t I arrived within«open» hours? Is there a last call for prescriptions that I’m not aware of? After this incident, I am moving my prescription to another place after 4 years. Very unhappy with a store I frequent. Glad more businesses are moving into the area to create some competition and hopefully that will increase the Pharmacist’s customer service.

This has now become my go-to Duane Reade due to the fact that it is literally below my apartment. As a whole, it is pretty much just like your typical Duane Reade. From a pharmacy to beer, they pretty much carry it all. One plus is that they do have a Chase ATM here so it makes withdraws much easier. When I can’t wait for Amazon to deliver my household goods, Duane Reade is there to save the day.

Like everyone else wrote, this DR is pretty pricey but it’s the city so what do you expect? I went to get some Freedom Lite Glucose 100 strips, sold online for $ 66, DR sold it to me for $ 175.66. They didn’t have any of the 50 strips in stock. There was one employee who was just dragging his feet up and down every aisle. I didn’t expect so many people to be there since it’s in the middle of nowhere but there was actually quite a few people.

Your typical Duane Reade. You can probably find anything everything here but 20% more than other stores or online. So when time is tough, don’t come here. I am just joking but seriously in this neighborhood if you are short of anything in the house, you can probably find it here. That includes fresh grapes and a nice jar of organic peanut butter. I only come here for their pharmacy and some work snacks.

This is not just a simple Duane Reade… this is a Duane Reade /Grocer /Bodega lovechild. Yes, it’s a little spendy, yes they have some awesomely robotic people working there, and YES, I know it’s DUANEREADE, but holy hell this location is pretty sweet*. If you need some last minute groceries, this will definitely do in a pinch. *It’s still a pharmacy, though. Check your excitement, people.

I hate how Duane Reade has a iron grip on this city. They’re pretty pricey, but they do make up for it in convenience. BTW, they’re also from the same company as Walgreens. So much for competition! This store is pretty huge and new and there’s a Blockbuster kiosk if you want to make it a blockbuster night. You have everything you need here and they’re 24 hours.

Oh, Duane Reade. Maybe that’s how you know you’re in NYC, just like when you see the ABC stores in Hawaii. This one opened up a month or two ago, and we were able to get some promotional deals-3 coupons that gave us $ 5 off a $ 15 purchase. With that, we got some average, decent deals. We all know there’s a Duane Reade down every few blocks or so, and because of that, it’s all ripoff prices. It really does have everything you need, though. Luckily, the time we went, orange juice and cough drops(we were sick) were both on sale for a couple of bucks. Add a bunch of cartons and drops, and we got ourselves a deal. I don’t think they give out coupons that often though… so bummer to that. I signed up for the flex rewards, but I only get another $ 5 off after I spend $ 500, which I doubt I ever would at this place. Oh, and flex $ doesn’t count when you use the pharmacy(the only time you would spend a lot, really). Yay for the convenience, but at the same time, it’s just as easy to get to a Walgreens(which is related to Duane Reade) or CVS with some more walking/public transit.
