This store is two levels full of shoes… It was pretty quite and empty when I was there.(just the way I like it;) l I saw a few pair of shoes and lil accessories that I will be back for.

Excellent and courteous service! I went in today to get a couple of pairs of new shoes for myself. The staff always had a smile and are eager to assist you in what you need! Especially when I was going to pay. They check the sizes for you to see if it was correct for you! A good thing too! I almost accidentally picked up a size 10 pair of Converse sneakers when I wear a 12! They have exchanged it right on the spot! I would have given them a 5-star rating, but they need more mens styles!

Neat, organized, clean, and a decent shoe selection for the location. Perhaps I’m mis-judging this based on my experience with suburban DSWs, but the place has a pretty small footprint. So I felt underwhelmed when I walked into the Harlem DSW and saw a much smaller selection. I went in looking for a LeSportsac bag, which other DSWs seem to have. This one only had the very small one. In general, they just had a very small selection of bags. It’s quiet and very calm in there though — not the frenzy you see in the suburban DSWs. And the friendly gals offered their help more than once — also unlike suburban DSWs where they could care less. I will absolutely come back here again because it’s right near my place! Just wish they had a bigger space for more stuff.

Great DSW location. There are only ever a few people in here, so they always have a good selection with tons of sizes. The staff have also been really nice and helpful. I live way uptown, and this location is very convenient for me.

I have always loved DSW, but the crowds at USQ and the crap selection at the UWS location have kept me away. Imagine my surprise when I showed up on a Friday afternoon to find that it was virtually empty. The selection is insane and the rows are pristine – none of the chaos you expect from other DSW. It FEELS like a new store. It IS a new store. With some well saved coupons, I scored some really cute for shoes for some really insane prices and didn’t feel like I narrowly escaped with my soul at the end of the day. The checkout girl was super friendly and made me not feel bad at all about dropping $ 100 on a few pairs of shoes. I didn’t have any problems with sizes but I’m pretty middle of the range(7) and every shoe that I saw had my size. Their boot selection is sizeable and impressive and they have an interesting range of the newly touted shooties that even I wanted to try on(gasp). Go now before the word gets out!

DSW Harlem NEEDS to carry shoes for the rest of us! I get the whole ‘bring the downtown feel/selection uptown to the masses/rest of us’ movement. Really I do. But how are you going to open a DSW in the middle of Harlem and not have shoes for folks with oversize feet like me? It’s bad enough that I have to troll brand name stores downtown and online in search of the elusive size 14 shoe and higher but when you bring a national brand store to the main street of Black America(as gentrified as you may think it is), you still should do some homework on the neighborhood you’re moving into. It’s akin to being the Uncle Scrooge, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Griswold, the Grinch… you get it. Learn your neighborhood. Carry shoe sizes and styles that appeal to and can fit the people there. Welcome to Harlem.
