Great music, poor service. 30 minutes for one drink at the bar. Granted it is packed, but they need bartenders and registers to accommodate.

Went to D’Savannah last night. Coming into the place was cool but the décor is off. Not really set up like a high end spot. We went to the bar and first drink we got had a roach in it. We pointed it out to the bartender and she changed it. The music was ok but the sound system was tuned and the dj booth was in a bad location. The food looked good however having the incident with the roach we were not going to be trying the food. This place is rated 1 star in my book.

I came on a Saturday night with my cousin for drinks and appetizers before we went to the movies. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated, but waited 15 mins for the watress to come take our orders. The worse of it was her scratching her braids with her hands while taking our orders(YUCK). Then when she came out with the appetizers it took her another 10 mins to bring the drinks(wtf). We of course had to ask for utensils and napkins. We did NOT leave her a tip but asked that she please stop scratching her head when taking orders. The wings and the ackra were really good. The drinks were so good we wish we could have had one more before leaving. If it was not for that, we would have given the spot 2 stars.

Went for Brunch on a Sunday and the outside appearance is nice. Once inside the appearance was just tables and chairs with no décor on them whatsoever. No one greets you and we were told to pick a seat. Once seated I realized there was a outside area seating. Had we been greeted we could of been given the options before sitting. The outside seating area needs lots of work especially when it concerns appearance. The food was satisfactory nothing great about it. I ordered the stew pork with a side of mango Cole slaw and spinach rice. Since it was brunch there is unlimited mimosas. The mimosas are nasty! Taste like bad champagne with food coloring. You only get two options with drinks so I ordered Mango Sangria. Suffice to say the Sangria was delicious. The service is unsatisfactory. We were serviced by the bartender and she paid more attention to the customers who sat at the bar. No one came to ask if the food was ok or if we needed another drink. If your looking for a place for good music and nice drinks only this is the place. The female DJ was definitely a plus and she mixed the music smoothly and effortlessly. Would I go back probably not but it was definitely an experience.

Wack and lacking professionalism. My friend and I decided to try this spot out. Even though there were people there it lacked any sort of ambiance or energy. No one greeted us or showed us where to sit so we just took a chair and waited… and waited some more. If it wasn’t for my friend’s good company I would have been more upset but instead we talked about how crappy the place was and wondered if we would ever get served. I guess if you want a place to sit down and NOT be given service you can come here. We happily left and got better service from another local establishment.

I live in the neighborhood and there aren’t many bars in the neighborhood within walking distance. This is one of my go to bars if I want to hang out for a drink on a Friday or Saturday night and listen to good music. Drinks and food are a bit on the pricey side(Manhattan prices) but you’ll have a good time. Definitely a good vibe. Music is loud in the evenings, but you go here for the music and the Caribbean ambiance.

I came here on a Friday night. I would love to give this place a better rating, if it was based on music alone. However, since it’s not… 2 may even be a reach. The jerk wings were simply amazing! I should’ve just let the wings be my meal. It’s ridiculous that I had to wait 1 hour for my main dish. The waitress checked in on my party once, no update after that… NOTHING disgrace. This place has the elements to be perfect but the wait time for food is unreal. If you’re a patient person, I would say come and«enjoy yourself» if not… find some place else with better service. *Wishful Thinking*

Good drinks, nice music, takes a long time to receive your food. The music is very loud can barely hear the person next to you. Definitely worth going to.

Came in for Sunday brunch with a friend. $ 28.99 for unlimited flavored mimosas which were pretty good. Presentation of food and drinks were very nice; and so was the staff. There was a Dj, cute young lady: she played a lot of good soca music. I had the mango talapia with rice and potato salad. Food had great flavor, but the temperature was a little on the cold side. There’s a spacious outdoor seating space and a fully stocked bar and a great cocktail menu. I’ll definitely be back here soon.

Been to D’Savannah a few times. Each and every time I went the food was great, the service not so much. I sat at the bar each time I went to this place, it was sometimes hard to get the attention of the bartenders. The male who is behind the bar seems to have an attitude and not have patience. My first time there I asked for a suggestion and he was really rude, so I ended up choosing any old thing. The drinks were nice, strong, and tasty. The food had just the right amount of everything. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time as well. I normally get the same thing to eat from most places. Here I get jerk chicken and waffles or Bacchanal Shrimp with Mac and Cheese and callaloo(Trini style). Another Trini spot with good food is Sugarcane which I believe has much friendlier staff and bartenders(in my opinion). I kept coming back because I like supporting Trini businesses(my family is Trinidadian), but ever since my LAST trip I will no longer be back. They messed up my order, charged my card twice for THEIR mistake. I called them to ask about the issue and they basically told me there was nothing they could do. I had to file a claim with my bank about the transaction. I SHOULD’VE filed 2 claims for their nasty service. I don’t like dealing with people who seem bothered to help me while I’m spending MY money at their establishment. Get people there who are WILLING to work.

I held off my review for months because I like to be fair. My first experience at D’Savannah was a 4⁄10BUT, the GM came over listened to our complaints/concerns and said he’d address them. I’ve been there 6 – 8 times since, with a friend and with larger groups(8−15ppl) and for the most part, a great time was had by most; thanks to the professionalism of the GM, strong awful(usually wrong mixtures of libations), music, tasty dishes and Sexy Beautiful Gorgeous staff! Now don’t kill me… the aforementioned combination can distort ones perception for certain. However, my rating of «Very Good» has to include the eye candy and music because if omitted D’Savannah would be less than average. The combination is what creates the enjoyable vibes and makes it 8⁄10. The bartenders can use refresher classes. Cocktails/Drinks: 2.75÷5 On one occasion I ordered Riesling and got Moscato(maybe it was assumed that I didn’t know my wines or arrogance prevented one to say«sorry Miss, we’re out of Riesling today»). On another occasion I asked for a simple Caipirinha(Brazilian accent included), my guess is the bartender decided any«strong/over-proof» white rum will do and used what tasted like Wray& Nephew, when I confronted him, his response was«you can use any white rum for dat drink» SMFH… so they don’t carry or didn’t have Cachaca. Carnival and Labor Day is fine for substitutions, chances are after your 8 – 10 drinks all cares are abated, but on a regular day when all you need is a simple drink? NAH! Oh and if you don’t like your drink, too bad. Note to you: order wisely, be adventurous and order their house cocktail(prayer first) or order a simple Mojito I recommend Sorrel or Mango, Rum & Coke or Beer! The food is good 3.5÷5: Tasty, if you like flavor and spice you’ll be pleased. It has gotten better. I recommend the Oxtail, Mac & Cheese, Red Bean, Callalloo, Snapper or order a few appetizers. Shrimp can be overcooked in my experience here. Service 2.5÷5: Slow on a Slow day, typical of Island Service but just as enjoyable. The girls move like palm trees swaying in warm breeze, the guys are hot warm and friendly… sun kissed chocolate skin and warm smile makes everything more enjoyable… doesn’t it? If you’re with friends, they’ll thank you. A male friend demands that I take him to D’Savannah whenever he’s in NYC. He’s not a drinker but he wants to go for«drinks». If possible check out their Carnival Tuesday Nights the music is good its crowded and hard to get a table but the vibes is nice, get there early!

That one star is solely for the music they played and even that took a turn for the worst. About halfway through the meal I guess they deemed it was«time to turn up» and they turned on the nightclub sized speaker that was literally hovering over my table a foot from my ear… I was NOT happy. In addition it’s not a deal if the half priced happy hour drinks also come in an itty bitty half sized glass. Inattentive waitresses and its not like this place is huuuuuge and its easy to not see the 8ppl sitting at my table. Can I get another drink? Can you ask how the food is going? Shit, can I get utensils and a NAPKIN!!! The bill was another fiasco. Surprise!!! Theres a problem with the card machine but of course they aren’t going to tell you that ahead of time. I guess if you’re into hood hot mess venues then you will be completely satisfied with their subpar rubbish

Very laid back atmosphere. It was packed on a weekend and we grabbed the last open table by the window. Can’t really comment on their food. But the drinks(we each had 2) were very well made. I had the Blue curacao and the coconut rhum flavored one. Both came in a nice presentation. the service was adequate. I was kinda expecting worse. The fact that we had someone check on our table 3 times was great with me. Nice Caribbean music. Could linger here for hours sipping on something good.

This place is pretty decent and apparently it’s been here for over a year. The bartenders are prompt and the food is delicious. I suggest you get the shrimp with calaloo and macaroni pie… its a lil spicy so brace yourself and enjoy. Cash and credit accepted here.
