My husband just gave me a Christmas gift — framed by Dryden. When he brought the piece there, he said — I did not have to look up the number. It’s on the back of everything we own that’s framed.” Yes, t’is true. I have used Dryden for — 25 years? The quality of their work is creative, and reasonably priced. Everything they have framed had an extra «special something» with the mat, or with the frame. I have brought pieces that some may scoff at… children’s drawings or other pieces important to ME. It’s been viewed with respect, and great understanding. I told my husband that my Christmas gift is that much more special since — it’s framed by Dryden. And we now live in Riverdale (vs 3 blocks away). It is worth the trip. The work is beautiful, as are the people who own and work there.

They have been my framers for 15 years, because they always do an amazing job. they also have great taste and give excellent recommendations for frames/​mats, etc.

I’ve used Dryden for years and framed over 20 pieces. Their staff is very helpful in picking out frames and mats that complement the piece being framed. Some of the frames they picked our were very creative and attractive. Framing is always more $$ than one thinks, but Dryden is always affordable («middle of the road») and a decent value. Convenient Manhattan location near Union Sq.

Wherever you live in NYC, don’t take framing projects anywhere but to Dryden on E. 12^th Street! Mary (and Don) and Mark and team are thoughtful, seasoned professionals. Excellent customer service, terrific work. Their knowledge is extensive, their sensibilities great. They respect any piece I bring in – high-​end, or a child’s sketch – work closely with me to find the right matte and frame, offering great advice but listening closely, too, and do the framing itself with incredible care and precision. Results? Superb in every case!

The owner Mary helped me pick out beautiful frames. She has a very high taste level and the art looked even better in my apartment then I could have imagined. I would defiantly recommend to people in the neighborhood and beyond.

I’ve had 50+ framing projects at Dryden over the last 25+ years and recommend them highly. Their customer service is excellent and I’m always happy with the recommendations they make. They’ve always been able to make a recommendation that fits the budget I’ve allocated for a piece. Also, the work is completed within the time specified. Lastly, Mary Dryden even helped me plan how to hang on one wall a grouping of 12 drawings Dryden framed, and it looks beautiful! Even though I moved away 15 years ago, I continue to use them and wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.

I needed help with getting hooks and a wire added to a mirror. Mark at Dryden graciously helped me. He was incredible fast (under five minutes) and precise (perfectly placed them). He also provided the appropriate hanging tools, gave me hanging tips and provided a referral to a hanging service should I need one. Soon we will be be framing some photographs and there’s no question of who I will go to. There’s a reason Dryden has been in business so long!

Their new location is tucked away on 12^th St. don’t miss it. I’ve been coming here for 23 years. I don’t live near their new location but I won’t go anywhere else. It’s run by a wonderful couple. Their selection is top notch and so is their work.

I have had about 10 pieces framed here over the past 5 or so years. I find them friendly and professional, they have a wide range of frames and always give me great advice. The new location on W12th is great and I still go to them even though I moved moved out of the area.

I’ve been going to Dryden for over 30 years. They never disappoint. I no longer live anywhere near their shop but they are still my go-​to destination for framing. Over the years I’ve had many posters framed there and they always come up with a great suggestion. They’ve even put antique-​type frames on some of my post-​modern posters and they look fantastic. Never would’ve occurred to me but they could see it working. I’m still smiling at my Dryden frames years later.
They’re a class act all the way… they really give old-​world service. Their selection is the best I’ve come across. They have so many beautiful choices… from more antique-​looking to modern. They don’t do «tacky.» I’ve wandered into other custom-​framing shops to take a look but my heart belongs to Dryden… I’ll never stray! I hadn’t even realized they’d moved and I got a shock last week when I went to the old location with a poster to frame. It was like someone had moved my water dish. Luckily, I found them. New place is really nice. These folks are part of a disappearing New York. Such nice people. Go forth all ye with naked artwork and get it framed at Dryden!

Always great customer service and great quality. Dryden Framing is run by a lovely husband and wife couple. Madame usually mans the front, and Monsieur is the framer. They’re the sweetest couple, and they clearly love what they do. I know that when I have something special to frame, that I can take it to Dryden and they’ll do a great job and I will love how it looks in my home.

I have had several pieces custom framed at Dryden and both times were wonderful experiences. I mostly worked with Mary Dryden, owner, who is not only knowledgable and very respectful of the pieces I brought in, but she was also very professional and kind. She knew exactly what we needed, offered me a quote before I made a decision and had the piece delivered at no extra cost (I am nearby the store).

I just love the staff here. They are always so kind and helpful. The woman who owns the shop always has very innovative ideas about matching frames with mats and artwork. She has a keen eye for highlighting artwork whilst putting something beautiful around it. If there has ever been an issue, they have taken the frame back and re-​worked it to my liking.
Beyond the near-​impeccable services they provide, I like to to return because they are kind and interesting people. The owners, who run their mom and pop shop are clearly in love and it is just darling to witness.

Great gallery! They do framing and have wonderful artwork. Sad that they’ll be moving soon… I hope they find a good location.

Great staff here. It was sad to hear that their landlord apparently jacked up their rent to an ungodly level (as so many seem to be doing to long time tenants in the past few years) so they’ll be moving soon. My husband had been looking at this piece of art in the window for at least a few months that reminded him of me. Seeing the price tag for another work of art near it, we feared how much it would cost. Nevertheless, we went in & asked.
Finding the price on this to be reasonable & it being something only a redhead or someone having an intimate relationship with one could appreciate, we decided to buy it. It’s now hanging in our house as our first official piece of artwork. We may be returning to see how they measure up with framing considering we have some things that need it.

Dryden Gallery is fantastic. I’ve had them frame all of the artwork in my home. I’ve never known exactly what I want when I go in there — and they always have fantastic ideas that look gorgeous. I used to live in NY and now I live on the West Coast — and I still send art back to them to be framed. I wouldn’t trust anyone else!
