Considering that I do not ever take risks, most especially with my personal appearance, I can honestly say that I have never had a moment of doubt or hesitation with any treatment that Dr Dormer recommended and performed. I have been her patient for over 10 years and credit her skill, and aesthetic sensibility for my overall youthful appearance. She is also one of the most intelligent women I have ever had the pleasure to know. Recently I tried Ultherapy with Tamara, who is the calmest and coolest aesthetician, and I am excited to see the results in the coming months.
I think the difference between Dormer Medical Spa and other offices offering similiar services is that at Dormer the experience is a caring and personal one and not just routine. For me that makes a world of difference

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dormer since 2009. You won’t find a more skilled person for Botox and other injectables. Dr. Dormer looks at the entirety of you and determines what’s best for the most natural results. She is a master at this !

Dr. Dormer is the best!!!
After seeing how beautiful my friend looked from her treatments I decided to set up an appointment for a consultation. Dr. Dormer discussed all my concerns and beauty needs in such a kind helpful manner while giving me her medical judgement and input. I had an unattractive mole in the center of my forehead which she successfully lasered off in only two sessions, the first one taking place during the consultation. I have had this mole for over 30 years because the other doctors I went to said they could not risk removing it without scarring. Dr. Dormer approached it entirely differently by lasering it, which was painless and completely scar fee.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Dormer for beauty treatments. You can be reassured she will make you look your best while acting in your best interest as a patient.

It’s hard to find an aesthetician you trust — and then to find one who is also fun to be around and helps you discover the best treatment for YOU — that’s a gift! Each time I visit for a treatment, I leave feeling confident, healthy, and attractive. My skin is noticeably improved right away and the effects last.
I’ve been seeing Tamara for about two years now and haven’t seen another aesthetician. Each time I visit her, I’m left with clear, supple, radiant skin. Over time, the health and radiance of my skin has improved — skin tone correcting, acne and pores minimized, oil reduced, firm and tight. It’s kind of amazing.
I now understand that THIS is how to achieve better skin on a day-​to-​day basis — — it’s not necessary to invest in excessive at-​home treatments, which is what I tried doing for years before deciding to try professional treatments. Each time I visit, she recommends a course of treatment for me based on how my skin is at that moment. At this point, I’ve done laser therapies, oxygen, LED, microderm — all have been excellent. I’m in the entertainment industry, so it’s important that I look my best and Tamara has been invaluable in helping me achieve an overall sustained improvement in my skin quality.
But what really sets Tamara apart (besides the personalized treatment) is her laid back, come-​as-​you are approach. It’s easy to make an appointment, she’s always on time, and always just looking out for you and your skin. Full of knowledge, up to date with latest technology and trends, and very thoughtful in how she applies her treatments. The atmosphere is very professional, but you’ll feel more like you have a skin mentor on your side than a nurse or doctor. Love that!

Dormer Medical Spa is the absolute worst cosmetics spa ever. My experience with Dr. Anita Dormer was absolutely awful. She was very unprofessional. The recommendations she made were horrible and unnecessary. She made them on purpose so I would have to make return trips to her clinic and end up spending more money. Overall, I am very unhappy with the way I was treated here. Dr. Dormer is a crook and I would never bring my business here ever again.

I have been going to Dr Dormer for about 2 years. I find Dr Dormer and her staff to be very professional and warm. Throughout the time that I have been seeing Dr Dormer I have found her to be very honest and always giving me good advice on what treatments would be best for me. I value her opinion and feel she’s one of the best in NYC.

Boooo on Botox
I had botox a few times in the past and loved it. Every time I got just enough to stop the wrinkles from getting deeper, but also not to much as to NOT have that frozen face.
BUT…
I went to her. First, she said «you don’t need too much» which made me feel great and happy to have found her. I felt like she was going to go sparingly, which I LOVE. But then, it turned into something different. She injected WAY more then I wanted, asked for, and needed. I’m FROZEN, I have a botox headache and it feels so heavy…
Uggg… never again will I go to her, but more importantly TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. If you say and think it’s too much and they tell you otherwise, get up and walk out.
So, if you’ve had less, and any Doctor is trying to say you need more — don’t do it unless the last round wasn’t enough. Remember your dose and stick to it, remind them, tell them NO if they want to put more unless you want more. Do what you’re happy with and what you know. You can always add more then next time around if you weren’t satisfied the first time. It’s also much better for it to be YOUR FAULT you didn’t get enough then THEIR FAULT for not listening to the patient and giving you too much along with this fabulous headache ²⁴⁄₇.

I’ve been going to this spa for several years now; monthly for my brows and occasionally a facial. Two years ago, I decided to start laser on my legs (it’s taken that long because of the summers/​tanning). I initially agreed to pay $ 600 for 4 sessions, and then the price would be cut in half. The girl who did my laser before is no longer with the spa, so today, I went for a follow-​up appointment with a new aesthetician.
Dr. Dormer was there and refused to honor the $ 300 price that I had been paying before! She insisted that I instead pay $ 450 for the EXACT SAME SERVICE! She claims that I should have paid $ 600 before for 6 sessions instead of 4, BUT if you look at the agreement that I signed years ago, it specifies that the full price should be paid for the first 4 – 6 sessions.
She basically said that since I got the reduced price after 4 sessions, I should now (two years later) have to pay $ 150 more for the same service.
She told me «you’re paying more now because now you have me.» But when I asked her who would be treating me, she said it would be the aesthetician!
Dr. Dormer was RUDE, relentless and unwilling to compromise with me. I’ve spend thousands of dollars at this spa over the years, so if this is how she treats long-​term customers, I will gladly take my business elsewhere.
She is plain rude! DO NOT be fooled by her friendly façade and how she acts like your best friend. She is a crook and would not think twice about taking the shirt off her customer’s back!
The girl who does the brows is great though and super sweet! I will continue to come back just for her!

Dormer is absolutely the best cosmetics spa ever!
I have been going to Dr Anita Dormer for a few years now, and I can recommend her without reservation.
I can be pretty demanding and have high expectations, but she has met my expectations and more every time.
She is a highly professional and conscientious clinician: she listens to my concerns, makes great recommendations and never pushes unneeded services.
In fact, she is actually very conservative in her approach. I have had to almost insist that she do a bit more when she was concerned about over-​doing it!
Anita truly takes an artistic approach to her work. She knows all the latest techniques and products and keeps current on all the developments in the field. I have been just amazed at the results she has achieved with me.
She really spends time with each of her clients. No hurry or rushing clients through.
Over time, I have come to consider her a friend and look forward to catching up with her when I visit. The office is lovely, and her staff is always courteous and pleasant.
Although no one could ever say quality services are inexpensive, Dormer is certainly reasonable in comparison to many others that I have tried over the years. Anita is always looking to add value to what she offers.
She clearly considers her clients her priority and wants them to be pleased with their experience. I know that she will be keeping me beautiful for years to come!
