I have been a patient of Dr. Bernstein’s for about 17 years now. He is remarkable not only for his accurate diagnostic skills but also for minimizing things that he realizes are nothing to worry about. He has been there through the death of my husband, the death of my niece, other unsteady moments, and the good times as well. What I most appreciate is his absolute and undivided attention once you are in his office. And it doesn’t stop there — he has on a few occasions called me at night to explain something he was questioning or to assure me that other tests had turned out just perfect so I could get a good night’s sleep. He is authentic in every way and has a marvelous sense of humor. You’re guaranteed at least one good laugh during your visit! He is exactly what you want in a good doctor — praises you when you do something right but doesn’t let you get away with any bad habits!!!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Bernstein for 15 years. He is an excellent doctor. He listens to questions and concerns very carefully and never prescribes anything without seeing his patients. He has great bedside manner. He is always is available by phone and always makes a point to call me back quickly when I have concerns.

Excellent doctor. His office is always busy because he is that good. Also, he really cares about his patients. Doctor Bernstein will not recommend prescription medicine/​drugs if you do not need it which is not only good for the body bit good for the wallet.
He is also very accommodating if there is an emergency or a request and we need to speak on the phone. If you need to see him in person, then yes you will need an appointment. I have never had to come in because of an emergency so I honestly do not know how he handles emergency visits
He will always be my doctor and I always refer him.

Fantastic. His staff, initially brusque-​seeming when I phoned to beg for a next day appointment as a new patient, told me that they were booked until the end of the month. BUT she took a note for the doctor about my symptoms and said he would call back. He phoned that night, kindly listened to me and said to call back the next morning and they’d fit me in. I called, the kind staffer fit me in the late afternoon and kindly called back to tell me of an earlier cancellation. Seeing Dr. Bernstein was a dream. He sat me down and asked real questions about my life, my family, etc… He really listened. He examined me and gave me sage and funny medical advice. What a wonderful Dr. I grew up with old school docs that were friends of the family for years in IL, they’ve long retired, or sadly passed — but Dr. Bernstein is definitely a kind old-​school doctor. Highly, highly recommended
