This place is excellent for cabochons, and the lady who works there is super helpful and friendly. Such a breath of fresh air compared to the normal attitude in the jewelry district.

A serious hidden gem.(ha!) In an unmarked building with unmarked elevators and crabby doorman but if you find your way here by some miracle, they have an excellent selection. Drawers and drawers filled with CZs and semiprecious stones and great customer service. I will admit, if anything they’re almost too helpful. But great prices and a very relaxed and quiet shopping experience.

I am so glad i found this place after combing through numerous websites that really didn’t appeal to a student jeweler like me. Thanks to the reviews on here i thought i should definitely try this place to find a stone for my next exercise. This place was a savior. Diane, one of the co-owners, is wonderful! She’s helpful and so patient. They have a lot of different kinds, cuts and sizes of stones so go in there with an idea of what you want(at least a size) would save you a lot of time, as well as the fact that it’s a small space so it can get difficult to maneuver. Trust me, the space is small that what you need will most likely be in the drawers behind the counter, which Diane will let you look through. I recommend this place to other students in my class and they all thank me afterwards. I give this place 4 stars only because of the cramp space otherwise 5 stars.

this place is a total diamond in the rough– no pun intended. it’s probably the weirdest shop i’ve ever been to, but it keeps me coming back. first, it’s in a completely random office building. there is no signage or anything that would tell you that dikra even exists. this makes it the perfect spot to shop quietly– there is almost never anyone else in the store.(if there was, the two of you wouldn’t fit) they have a TON of gems– this is like a packrat’s dream. there is a whole glass display of the fancier stuff, but the real treasures are behind the counter. there are two huge filing cabinets with mm sizes and shapes. inside there are baggies full of semiprecious stones. this is sort of self-serve– take baggies, label the type of stone, price, and quantity. the quality differs, so you really need to dig in and find the perfect stone for your project. the best part of this case is, the stones are $.20-$ 2 each. the people who work here are kind of weird but very friendly. it seems like they get a lot of students– maybe because they are MUCH more welcoming than some of the jerks in the diamond district
