I keep going only because it’s more work to transfer medical charts… But the wait time is pretty bad. I wait more than an hour each time (I’m on visit #4 over a few years). Staff is fine but not overly helpful nor kind but once in the room I always have a good experience with the technician, which I guess is the most important part. Prepare to miss work!

Made to wait for over an hour with no updates unless I asked for them. If I’d been an hour late I’m sure there would have been a cancellation/​late fee charged but no discount or apology was offered. Doctors and healthcare providers should be held to the same standards as patients. Terrible service and I would never return.

I’ve been here twice now. The first time about 6 months ago for a MRI. In and out super quickly, staff was friendly. Today I went for a MRI for my abdomen and pelvis. Again, staff was super friendly and was seen right on time. No complaints.

Okay, so it seems as if Chelsea Diagnostic is determined to climb out of the abyss of low ratings it has gotten itself into because front desk service was drastically improved this time around. Iris? the receptionist was so sweet and apologetic when I came in, greeted me with a warm smile, and informed me that my appointment would be an hour late. She also was flexible enough to let me leave so I could hang out around the nabe and said she would call me when my appointment came due. Apparently she had tried to call earlier patients and didn’t get around me to me and this other lady. After I told her that I wanted to wait outside because the noise from the tv in the reception area gave me a headache, I noticed that the tv noise level was lower when I returned and that when she took me into the room to change (an inner waiting area), she informed me that she had turned off the tv. How’s that for proactive service? She gets five stars but the 3 for Chelsea Diagnostic is for the 1 hour wait. The techs here I have no complaints about. Michael the tech (who informed me he worked on me last time) was as efficient, professional and as patient as ever, even after I wobbled off the machine and seemed to walk sideways. Hey, those magnets scramble your brains better than a whisk with eggs. And yes, they have open MRI machines, which they claim they don’t have when you call!. The inner waiting area, which I didn’t see last time, was immaculate and had a dispenser for coffee, tea and water. It was quiet and the lockers were clean. No dirty laundry for me this time either. This isn’t a place I would rejoice to visit for the very nature of the services they provide, but if I have to get scanned, I am happier having developed a greater comfort level with the support staffs.

A bit impersonal, staff is not super friendly. They don’t have enough lockers, so I had to carry my clothing with me to the waiting room. When I was called in, the woman said «Jones, Mary» (not my real name). Kind of off-​putting.
When I had a routine mammogram a month ago, it was very quick. I was happy it was fast, but concerned that the technologist didn’t get it right. And indeed, I was called to return and repeat the test. Better to take time and get it right the first time.
I was told on the phone that I didn’t need to bring a prescription from my doctor since it was a repeat, but when I arrived, I was told I did, and that whoever told me I didn’t, did not know what they were talking about. So I had to call my doctor and have the prescription faxed over.
No real problems, just think it could be a bit more user-​friendly.

I discovered this place by chance. Having had some other diagnostic tests done in the area I thought why not try something different. What a nice surprise to have 2 procedures done in just under an hour. The staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. For NY standards this was a nice surprise to have such efficiency and a well equipped center. I certainly hope it maintains its standards. Great job all!!! You’ve restored my faith in healthcare a little bit. Totally beats going to the NYU Breast Center that is totally overrated where you wait 2 hrs for a mammogram.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews of this facility, I been here 3 times for my dad who is 81 years old and has advanced Parkinson’s disease, everyone we encounter has always been professional and extremely helpful, Kenya at the front reception provides courteous and professional customer service, our 3^rd visit today was for a ct scan, anyone familiar with this degenerative disease knows how difficult it can be for an elder to ambulate, the nurse, Rose and Carol, the tech, were very polite, compassionate and ensured the procedure went smooth and that my dad was comfortable, we were in and out in an hour! we were also provided with the CD. I would definetly recommend this place to anyone.

Rudest service ever! From trying to make an appointment to trying to understand the bill they send you, I have seldom talked to people as rude as these.
I would not go back and I would discourage anybody from going.

I didn’t even get to have my MRI. I emailed all of my information to Vanessa a full week ahead of time, and sent through what my insurance company said should be my co-​insurance payment. I wrote in the email that I needed them to confirm what my cost would be.
Of course I never received anything back via email. So when they called to confirm my appointment, I was transferred to Billing so that I could understand what my cost would be. They flat out refused to tell me anything around how much the procedure would cost — a common procedure billed to the biggest insurance company.
There is absolutely no reason why they could not tell me today how much they are going to bill my insurance company two days from now. In no other industry are will simply supposed to simply accept whatever these companies choose on a whim to charge us. The woman I spoke with in billing was so annoyed that I was daring to ask what my cost was that she essentially hung up on me. Absolutely ridiculous.

I have been using DRA for over 10 years and can’t think of a single thing wrong with it. The longest i have waited is half an hour but that’s nothing compared to my Dr and many other specialists. Everyone has always been helpful and polite and I am really amazed at how many people have had unpleasant experiences. I almost feel like we’re not talking about the same place!

This place goes by the name Chelsea Diagnostic Radiology. I found them to be efficient and knowledgeable. I called to make an appointment and was offered availability within the next few days. I selected a 7:30 am slot, which I’d recommend to avoid waiting. I was in and out in about 45 minutes for my routine mammogram. There’s a form on their website you can print and fill out in advance, but you still need to show your insurance card and sign a release when you arrive. Receptionist was friendly, and sent me right up to the mammo floor, where I was greeted, and shown the changing room and lockers. My technician explained how the appointment would go, so there were no surprises. She was very professional and considerate, especially considering she has to manhandle boobs all day as part of her job. Make sure to request a copy of your films, and they’ll call you in a few days when they are ready. Unfortunate that they can’t send you the results digitally (you have to go back to sign and pick them up), but not a big deal.

I read the reviews for this place and definitely was worried, however, to beat the long wait, make sure to book your appointment as early as possible!
My appointment was the first one in the morning, I think it was 730/​8am so I was able to go before work. They got me in right away and I was in and out within 30min.
My report was sent to my doctor on time and I also called to ask if I could pick up a copy and they were very informative and helpful.
Overall opinion is if you want to save your sanity book an early appointment!

Avoid at all costs. I waited 2 hours in scrubs before the technician said the MRI isn’t working, and asked if I could come back later that day. Very rude the whole time, cell phones aren’t allowed so I waited the 2 hours twiddling my thumbs, not even a magazine to read in their waiting room. Seriously, go someplace else.

I was prescribed an MRI by a non Medicare doctor. I called them and asked if it would be covered and was told it would be covered since THEY are a Medicare facility. Months later I received a bill for $ 2,200 and when I called up to complain they were unmoved. Turns out they ASSUMED I would not be covered and didn’t even bother to submit my procedure to Medicare. Finally after numerous phone calls they did actually submit my bill and guess what it was covered. If they send you a bill be very careful. The MRI itself went OK though their machine is fully enclosed and exceptionally noisy but results were available promptly.

This place is terrible, no respect for people’s time. Your appointment time has nothing to do with when they actually see you. I waited for an hour and a half before I went in. Multiple nurses were standing around chatting about their weekend plans instead of seeing patients.
Go elsewhere and save your time.

I was here before my appointment at 8:45 AM for a pelvis ultrasound that requires a full bladder yet I had to wait an hour without peeing. I noticed the technicians don’t roll in to well after 9:15, how unprofessional.

No respect for people’s time. Don’t believe any appointment time they tell you. I have waited hours each of the 3 times I went.

The environment was very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. From the paperwork process to my sonogram procedure, everything went smoothly. The person who did my sonogram went out of her way to get my films onto a CD.

I have been here twice and each time I have had to wait an hour+. During my second visit I asked after 45 minutes of waiting how much longer it would be. They said at least another 20 minutes, and then went on to say «you came during the time of day when we only have one tech on staff and there is someone still waiting in front if you» as if I would know that some how? Why is there only one tech on site making the wait over an hour for everyone? Very poor staffing.
My tech also made very odd noises as she did my exam like «oh, ummm, hmm». When I asked what she saw she said «oh I can’t say». Yeah, thanks for that panic attack. I understand they can’t say anything, but the noises were not helpful.
Only redeeming quality– my scans were sent to my dr in a timely manner. Oh and it’s near the train.
If I have to have another scan I’ll be finding a new center.

While I can’t say that I had much of an option coming here (I did, in the sense that I could have chosen –not– to get x-​rays at all, but that wasn’t much of an option), I can’t complain about the experience a bit.
Special thumbs up to Francois, the tech who assisted me last week, for working with my particular handicap of being incapable of bending or sitting. I didn’t even have to change into a medical gown (which would have probably taken most of the day). Believe me, the alternative, taking my trousers down, was far superior.
As a walk-​in, I managed to pop in and out in roughly an hour all told. And hooray for verifying that I didn’t, in fact, break my back. Thank goodness; because that’d be an awkward story to explain how I managed to do that while putting on my jeans in the morning.
