Read about this boutique on Refinery29 and so glad I checked it out. The selection is very particular and indeed unique. I went in looking for a bschool graduation gift for a friend. One of the owners manning the shop was very helpful. She helped me decide on a one of a kind bracelet from Noise Girl that I know my friend will love. Thank you! Will def be back.

Move over SoHo, the Bowery is hot on your trail! As part of the forward motion encouraged by the likes of WholeFoods and The New Museum, boutiques are now springing up in between the lighting and kitchen appliance stores along the Bowery. Dagny + Barstow sells clothing, handbags, jewelry, and other accessories, and also collaborates with to offer works for sale from NYC artists. The space is very coolly designed, with artwork(also for sale) slanted nonchalantly along the walls mixed with racks and tables of cozy cashmere knits and sleek chic silks. The aesthetic of the lines — the very warm sales clerk informed me D+B focuses on up-and-coming and international designers — had a feel of Phillip Lim, Scandinavian modern, very geometric. I’d imagine there would be something for everyone in here, since the draping cuts among this batch of designers could flatter all. I fell in love with the open weave sweaters from Dear Cashmere in a series of works-with-everything neutrals. The space is also littered with accessories from iPhone cases with scarf prints(so tempting, but I can’t part with my favorite Kate Spade case quite yet) to orange ostrich make up bags to jewelery to liven up the basics found around them. Adding to the Nolita boutique rotation!
