Quintessential Neighborhood Bar. Great Drinks, Great Vibe and the Food Represents as Well.

I came here on a date when I was hungry and Blind Tiger was a little too crowded to order food. The burger, its main item, was much better than I expected. They provide tater tots rather than fries as the standard and these were really damn good. I thought my Manhattan had a little too much vermouth relative to Rye, but that probably reflects on whomever was behind the bar at the time. It was nothing special. But. Overall, I liked it.

Definitely a neighborhood bar. Beers on tap and a huge alcohol selection. We had a great time too. Food and drinks then Bleecker Street baby!

Get the tots with with bacon and jalapeños. Pappy if you dare. Smile at the owner(the tough guy with the beard). He will be nice enough to chase you if you forget your card.

Have been to Daddy-O a few times now and I’ve gotten the same thing every time… Plain tots, and a Yellow fever(cocktail). The tots are somehow wayyy better than what you remember from school tots, and the Yellow fever is a perfect blend of spice & sour & smooth. The ambiance is cool; Daddy-O has an older, familiar vibe. It’s very casual, with a crowd of regulars. On the corner of Leroy & Bedford, Daddy-O is on the smaller side, and would be best suited for an intimate group. First visited Daddy-O in 2014 when it was named one of the best bars in America by Esquire:

Phil is the man. If they ever have the meatball sandwich special, eat it. If not, order the burger. And the Daddy-o manhattan. And as many tater tots as you can fit in your stomach. Tho you might wanna avoid the village bros on game nights. Otherwise, browse the amazing whiskey list, and settle in for the night of your life.

From the outside you may think place is a dump, but step inside and your view will change rather quickly. Wide selection of whiskeys and a real tasty burger. Decent spot to watch the games as they have about 3 good sized TV’s

Late night stop before heading in for the night. THEAMBIANCE: Darkness, wood, an rock n roll. Music was playing and people were vibing in this small, corner bar. THEFOOD/DRINKS: I don’t remember what my drink was called but it was pretty.(See pic). I wasn’t a fan of the taste all that much. For food we tried the quesadilla and cheese tots. The food was good. The tots were spicy. That’s not green onions that you see sprinkled on top. It’s jalapeño pieces! THETIPS: Good spot.

Since I was craving a garbage plate and Daddy-O is the only place in town I had to try it. Overall the plate was ok– it had the necessary ingredients and an interesting spiciness from the mustard but lacked the enormous portion size that is an essential part of a garbage plate. Coming in at $ 20(including cheese, which you really can’t do without) it was far too expensive for what you were getting. My group also got the tatter tots fully loaded($ 12 or $ 13) which were good but once again not worth the price.

Me likey this place. They have and impressive shelf selection of spirits. Some fun cocktails. Good bar food and nice selections. It’s a nice intimate, neighborhood spot. They also have frequent whiskey sponsored evenings. We were fortunate to pop in on an Angel’s Envy evening!

I love and can’t live without Daddy O, especially on Sundays. First of all, Steeler Nation this is the place to be. The sound is always on for a Steeler game(and there are other games playing as well) just to add to the charm, every time the Steelers score the bouncer from next door comes in and waves his terrible towel and the whole place cheers! The food is way better than any sports bar food you will ever have.(I highly recommend the breakfast burrito) and if you are a bloody mary fan, those are great too! Phil the owner is a great guy. THe bartenders and wait staff are friendly and so accommodating. Especial Pam, who is my fav. You will not be disappointed!

We came here after a night of pre-wedding festivities. This is a quaint hipster bar setting with mood lighting and late night hours. The goal for us was to eat since the kitchen is open until 4am… We arrived around 3:30, settled in and ordered our food. There were a few peopl in our group so we ordered multiple plates; pizza, chicken fingers, loaded tots, mac/open faced hotdog platter and desert. The food was DELICIOUS! The wait staff was great too. Unfortunately management is rude! Our order came to the table after 4am and within minutes they were trying to kick us out and not being subtle about it at all. I traveled to NYC from Ohio for a long weekend with friends. Friday — Monday this was the only rudeness I experienced the entire trip, and it was blatant. Moral of the story — They need to change their kitchen hours to 3:30am or be more appreciative of their patrons. If you get there early and leave my 4am, you will probably have a better experience.

Small bar with a good selection of spirits. Bartenders are nice enough. I had a decent martini. Did not try the menu. I will go back when I am in the neighborhood. Three or four taps — one was Guinness.

Daddy-O. A home away from home(but close to home if you live in the West Village). Killer cocktails. The most delicious tater tots in the city. Fantastic staff. Cool owner. Sports on TV when you want them, lively conversation with the bartenders when you don’t. Basically, the best neighborhood bar in the West Village. Did I mention the tots?

Good place to be if you’re looking to just hang out. Not much of a fancy place, gives you more of that college bar type of feel where you’d come with your buddies to hang out, grab some decent drinks and watch the football game. The kitchen is open until 4AM which is dope. Food here feels like more home food than bar food which is even better. Bartenders are very nice and will give you good drink recommendations(i’m a whisky guy and ordered the mark twain. well made drink) Definitely worth checking out with a couple of buddies!

Solid spot, decent drinks, not too crowded. Don’t expect expertly crafted cocktails here. Come here to get a beer/jack n coke and hang out with some friends. The burger here was solid and the chicken«fingers» were excellent. The tator tots that came on the side was a huge added bonus. Friendly bartenders and very quick service. A kitchen open till 4AM is a huge added bonus.

This place is close to my job. Ive been here a few times. Came for some after work drinks also had some tater tots with cheese and jalapeño and bacon. Good but over priced. The drinks are too but hey its west village. Service is always good. Décor is dark and sleek. Good spot for a drink with a date, not during peak times though.

Daddy-O NY: Manhattan: East Village 4pm Sunday 29th June 2015 Four Stars Pride Parade Part 2: we stopped at this bar for a cocktail before late lunch/early dinner. I had a New York Sour: Rye, Lemon, Sugar, a Float of Cabernet and a luxardo Cherry. Justin had a Pink Elephant: Bulldog Gin, Litchi liqueur, Crème de Cassis, Lychee Purée, lemon juice shaken and strained into a cocktail glass with a lychee garnish. Ashley had the Yellow Fever(Insert Asian/white person joke). It had absolute mango, passion fruit, Jalapeño simply syrup, and lemon juice shaken, strained, poured into a cocktail glass with a jalapeño slice garnish. Each of the drinks were $ 14 which is pricey but worth it based on the quality of the product. The place does not seem like a high end cocktail place but more like bar food and coors light on special. They did have a TV Playing the Mets game which a homeless man was watching from outside. I enjoyed my time but I can see others might be confused by the identity of this establishment.

I feel like I just lost a close friend. I’ve lived across the street from this bar for three years. I checked my credit card bill and I have been 38 times in the last year and a half. And yet last night the waiter messed up my girlfriend’s order and gave her something double the size and price. He asked three times if she wanted the whole plate with all the sides and we said no each time. He did not listen and when the wrong order arrived we told him it was incorrect. He was rather unresponsive(I think he was really out of it or perhaps hard of hearing) and he never explicitly offered to swap it out – more unwilling to admit his mistake than helpful. We had somewhere to be, so we decided to keep the dish. When the bill came, we were charged for the incorrect plate. I asked them to change the bill to the original order($ 11 less) and they sent the owner Phil over with both of our waiters. Phil proceeded to side with the waiter who claimed we «insisted» on keeping the incorrect dish and would not make the situation right. I honestly though they would knock the whole dish off the bill but that is the opposite of what happened. Finally, we agreed to pay the full tab. And we left. And we will now never be back again. I live 300 feet from this place and those 38 transactions amounted to $ 2,351. Phil, I hope you are satisfied with sticking to your guns. Way to treat your regulars with respect.

Great crafted cocktails and tasty bar food, delivered by bartenders who like conversation and sass. Definitely my type of place and I can’t wait to come back. The saffron negroni — the specialty cocktail this week — was a «must try» and the wings with dry rub and a squidge of lemon beat out messy buffalo wings any day. For RIT alums, this place has… garbage plates!
