Crosstown Custom Shade & Glass

Went into 10^th st location and told sales guy that I wanted to replace the custom wood blinds that I had purchased for my bathroom. I told him I didn’t like quality and that I wanted similar wood blinds I had ordered for my other windows. He told me that the other manufacturer is out of business and that this is the only manufacturer they use. I told him cost Is not an issue and I would like a better made blind. Unfortunately he didn’t seem to hear me and wasn’t interested in helping me. I will take my business somewhere else.

OK. I’m glad I decided to write a review because my experience was different than the other review here.
I agree that it was expensive but I had custom made wooden blinds and another custom sized shade made and installed.
They helped me choose good stuff for various windows and I’m really happy with what I got.
The shades are beautiful, classic wooden blinds and they fit perfectly. Because I the windows are big, the shades are a bit heavy for the string on them which broke once — and I had a little trouble getting used to pulling them up but the installer came back and helped me and the guy i worked with was great.
The blinds themselves are awesome and rather life changing– esp in the heat.
They did a very professional job within the estimated time which was a few weeks– and it was nice to use a local business– I worked with the W 10 people.
I’d recommend them and I love my shades. They are way nicer than some yucky plastic blinds.

Once you’ve paid their bloated prices, Crosstown doesn’t give a hoot what you end up with. A beige shade I ordered arrived in an ugly color, darker and greenish, but they denied any problem. They tried to push a replacement in a color I didn’t want, for more money! These are the same owners as the store on W. 86^th St., so I’m adding my experience to this branch as well.
Even after they took the shade back, they refused to refund my $ 500 deposit. This is a REALLY nasty outfit.
When you see the glowing «reviews» (now up to 9 for this location) that Unilocal pulled for being invalid, you understand how these people operate.
