Pretty good Middle Eastern. All veggie, no meat, which wasn’t completely clear to us online while ordering for delivery. THEWAIT: We did online delivery on a Friday around 2pm for a late lunch. They estimate pretty conservatively on the time — about 45 minutes to an hour I believe, but then ended up being about 10 minutes early.(They were only a few blocks away.) COST: $ 21.71 total(including tax/tip) for 2 lunch entrees. * Authentic Falafel Bowl($ 9.15) — 3.5 stars pic: The falafels were pretty good. Thick breading, crispy. Inside was soft, but a little bit on the dry side. The bowl had a lot of hummus but it was all dumped on top, a little unevenly distributed. I would’ve hoped for more fresh veggies, less of the pickled stuff though. * Shawarma, Mock Chicken($ 8.95) — 3 stars pic: The most amazing thing about this was my friend and I ate the whole thing thinking it was real chicken(nowhere on the online order menu does it say mock or vegetarian for this, at least nowhere that we saw). I didn’t think it was the best chicken — it had a shredded texture, wasn’t the most hearty, but I did think it was chicken. We were pretty impressed when we noticed the«mock» on the receipt. The wrap was a little soggy, and once again the pickled stuff wasn’t the most appetizing to me. Our receipt:

This new tiny Crisp took over the Simply Sliders location when the large Crisp location on the corner of 3rd and 43rd shuttered. I really, really missed the original Crisp because I ate there frequently. After many months of not having a sandwich and being curious as to whether the tiny location would satisfy my craving, I decided to try it. Unfortunately, this location only has 3 types of sandwiches, compared to the prior location that had approximately 8(I think). I get it — the place is smaller. But the types are just. .. . boring! They have a basic one with sauerkraut — um, okay. Another taco-type sandwich. And then a greek-salad sandwich. None of these appealed to me, but I decided to try the greek-salad sandwich. It was just«eh». Too bad — I really wanted to love you and get back together. But the tiny Crisp is not what the old, larger Crisp used to be.

Slow delivery during lunch rush, but they are so darn tasty. They have this glorious packaging that makes touching the sandwich unnecessary which I think Mamoun’s downtown should adopt into an upscale business. Kudos for being able to add meat, but you don’t miss it in these sandwiches.
