I was a little worried after I ordered my pizza and read the reviews. There were so many bad reviews and I was a little skeptical at how my pizza would turn out. Lucky for me, the pizza was amazing! I had the cowboy and it smelled so good that I almost ate a slice on the way home. They aren’t cheap with the toppings and every slice was perfect. The pizza had a great garlicky flavor and for some it might be too much, but I love the taste of garlic. The pizza was a little pricey, $ 26 for an 18″ pie and they did take my money with floury hands which makes me wonder if they washed them before making more pizza, but it’s definitely a great place when I’m craving pizza that’s a little fancier than Papa Johns.

Ordered delivery from here and«they couldn’t accommodate the order.» Another time when they actually did deliver the pizzas– they were all folded over on top of each other.

Nothing special and way overpriced. 4.50 for a crappy slice when I could have gone to artichoke for something much better.

Why its called cowboy pizza i don’t know. I really wanna give this place 3.5 stars. Place is clean, prices are great at $ 2 and the pizza is crispy and the flavor is above average. However, I’d walk around the corner and goto East Broadway pizza instead. Not that this place is bad, but East Broadway pizza does it better. This place does serve beer tho and has specials like $ 3 beer w/the purchase of 2 slices($ 7 for a beer and 2 slices is pretty darn good in NYC!)

Better find another ranch, Pardner. 1 hour and 50 minutes for delivery via Seamless on a Sunday night. I live 4 blocks from the joint. The employee who eventually delivered the pizza apologized profusely and refunded the entire amount in cash. There are good intentions here and the locally sourced bit is a grab with the creatives in the neighborhood. However, the owners really have to really have to grab the proverbial steer by the horns and beg Gordon Ramsay for help.

Really great pizza. I have eaten here a number of times and have always enjoyed myself. The prices are good and the staff is very friendly.

OK so the first time I tried this pizza was when they first opened and I was NOT impressed ATALL. I just didn’t like it. How can you mess up pizza??? The sauce had a horrible sweetness that I was just not a fan of and I didn’t like the crust. But I decided to give them another try this past Wednesday. I was STARVING and didn’t have much time and quelling those hunger pains was way more important(I get cranky when I’m hungry) so I decided what the hell. WOW, I was pleasantly surprised. Clearly they have revamped their recipe; I LOVE it now! The crust is so wonderfully crispy and the flavors just melt in your mouth; sauce and cheese… perfect. Because I didn’t like it the first time, I decided to play it safe and just get a regular slice. I will absolutely try the other combos they have there now. I can’t wait!

It’s alright. It’s VERY hipster, though, and pricey for what it is, especially in a city with amazing dollar slices on almost every corner. Go there if you can’t look at Chinese food that day.

I’m never quite sure about this location, because this has been the third iteration of a pizza shop in this same spot. I’ve been curious to try their pizza since Slice Out Hunger, but was never especially in the mood. Also, they have a sign advertising a CSA, which made me all the more curious(I love my CSA!). Last week, we decided to finally give them a try. They had a veggie slice, but since it was our first visit, we went with a plain slice and a plain Sicilian slice. They advertise the plain slice as a special for $ 2. And, for the price, I wasn’t really impressed. It was extra greasy and I felt like it didn’t have much flavor. Fortunately, the Sicilian slice fared much better. I don’t normally order Sicilian slices, because I’m into the thinner crust, but I actually really liked the dough on this one. It was also more flavorful than the regular slice. Not sure if they use different sauces, but somehow, the plain slice tasted blah and the Sicilian was tasty. Though, I gotta say, at $ 3.50, that Sicilian had better have tasted good or I would’ve been upset. I kinda had sticker shock after we paid. Anyhoo, I wouldn’t necessarily make a special trip over here for a slice, but I would come back to try that veggie slice sometime. Maybe it’ll make me feel better about this place, since I’d really love to support any place that supports CSAs…

I wanted to give this place another try since I really liked their vibe and there aren’t other pizza places like it around the area. Given a little more research I was very pleased with what I had here. I tried the buffalo chicken pizza, which was amazing. I’m not usually a fan of buffalo chicken, but my wife wanted to try it. It was very saucy and cheesy, I will have this pizza again. I don’t know if the pepperoni I had was out for a while, but the dough this time was much better. A pizza place like this it’s better to get their specialty pies I think, they definitely put love into those pies. Their tomato and basil was good, very cheesy. The Cowboy pizza was different, we were expecting a more saucy pizza but it was quite good. One really cool thing about this place is that they apparently just experiment with different locally grown veggies. They had a radish pizza that I thought was very good, my wife thought it was a little bland, but it was very cool trying a pizza that may not be made again. When you walk by this place it feels a bit hidden, but give it a try. There aren’t many places like this in the hood that show movies and have trivia nights and actually experiment with locally grown produce. I’m excited to go back to Cowboy pizza.

I called last night at about 10PM, to see if Cowboy pizza had any of the vegan farmer’s pie to buy by the slice. They didn’t, but they graciously offered to make a whole pie, so I could swing by an by one slice. This was great customer’s service, they could have made me purchase a more expensive personal pie, but didn’t. The slice is itself? DELICIOUS! Lightly salted greens(maybe kale?), sweet potato or some other orange gourd, onions, sun-dried tomatoes. Very unique, special and seasonal. Will definitely go back for this slice. Price wasn’t bad at all, you would probably pay more for such a specialty slice at Viva. Highly recommend!

First time going there and they’re super friendly! Asked for a slice of Tumbleweed, but they didn’t have it out. However, the girl made me a fresh one instead! :D The pizza is good too! Super fragrant and yummy. It’s the thin-and-crunchy type of pizza. There’s basil, spinach, garlic powder(I think), pine nuts sprinkled on top and dollops of ricotta cheese. Mmm the warm ricotta is sooo good. Please do put some more next time! It’ll be a perfect balance for that crunchy crust =))

I’m willing to give this place another shot but we were not impressed. I Iive 1.5 blocks away and two pies took an hour for delivery. When the pizza arrived all the cheese and toppings had slid off the pie onto the side. I should have called and complained immediately but meh. I’m going to try them again by placing identical orders with them and Franks and comparing the results. If Two Boots closed down with its good service and awesome pizza, I don’t see how this place has much of a chance.

These guys are great. Not only is the pizza tasty(I love the dough and their creative pies), but they are so nice and accommodating. It is always a pleasure to go in there. This corner of the Lower East Side is such a hidden gem. Plus, the guy who makes the pizza is totally dreamy.

I want to love Cowboy Pizza and I’m trying but I hope they listen to the reviews about both the flavor of the sauce and the dough. The sauce isn’t raw tasting it’s just… meh. I’d say it needs both salt and sweetness. The toppings help a bit but the plain pie is bland. Same is true for the crust — it needs salting for sure. Tonight we got two pies and the 4 people with me all agreed there is a lack of flavor. The space is great, nice, and neighborhoody. The staff are friendly, happy, personable, and do nice things like slice slices in half for kids. The prices are ok. The delivery is fast.(hence the 3 stars — all for ambiance and personality — I’d give a 1-star for pizza) Please Cowboy — listen up and rustle up some more feedback from the neighbors so you can become a great neighborhood spot.

Fantastic neighborhood pizza place. The best in the ‘hood, as a matter of fact. But don’t go in thinking this is going to be Artichoke or Motorino or Frannys or any of the«well-known» pizza places. This is the place where you get a pie for a fair price and eat three slices of it in the blink of an eye. Nice, young owners. Clean place, workers who seemed to enjoy being there. I look forward to trying out their more specialized pies.

I just had a bbq chicken slice from this place. And I think I could of made a better slice than this. First I walk in there’s only one pie ready to order do they made my chicken slice there which is fine. But I notice they weren’t wearing any gloves. The guy just started preparing my slice and ripping up the chicken with his bare hands. He didn’t even wash them. But what ever I still ate the pizza because I was starving. The pizza it self isn’t good. The dough is flat the sauce taste lie jar sauce. And the chicken was dry. I won’t be going back here again.

We were so hopeful to have a great pizza place around the corner… Unfortunately, it was a major let down. First, our 20 – 25 minute order took an hour and 15 minutes to go 2 blocks away even after calling at 50 minutes being told it was on its way. Second, the delivery guy had no idea what we owed so I had to go back online and tell him the costs. Most importantly, the plain pie sauce tasted like it was out of a jar, the cheese was bland and the crust under cooked. The«Tumbleweed,» with spinach, pine nuts, basil and ricotta was a waste of money and a joke. There was probably a total of 1.5 tablespoons of ricotta on the entire large pie and the crust was par-baked at best. It was highly unfulfilling and left us feeling frustrated that we had just dropped 16 on the plain and 22 on the ‘gourmet.‘ Oh well…
