This is a great store for trendy, colorful and well made men’s clothes. The owner/designer is French and very friendly. He made a few suggestions based on the things I was looking at and yet wasn’t pushy. I’m sure I’ll be back!

my many forays into conquete have consistently turned up super-smart au courant pieces my husband loves. whether it’s an accessory, like a belt or hat, or something more significant, like the rugged-cool vest i just snapped up, richard seems to always have something that not only satisfies my jaded taste, but is unique – something i haven’t seen anywhere else(and that includes their exclusive line of swimsuits, which look rather hot on my man). if you’re more bloomingdale’s, maybe conquete isn’t your scene. but if you’re willing to change your latitude, you could hardly do better than having richard put you together, from head to toe. he not only has a keen eye, but is a welcoming and warm member of our chelsea community!

Miami meets Milan meets Manhattan couture for fashion-forward men. Coquete is a small boutique right around the corner from my hair salon, AR. I went there once with my husband back in the summer, and he loved some of their stuff(not the butt-bearing swimsuits [not that there’s anything wrong with that :)], but rather the pinstripe blazers with hints of detail around the buttons, etc.) I was amused that he was DEFINITELY better eye-candy than I was for the Chelsea boys behind the counter, but we had a great time browsing, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The prices were out of our normal range, but I went back months later and snagged the aforementioned blazer as a surprise Christmas gift. Perfect to wear with dark jeans and a cool t-shirt. Give ‘em a go!
