This place is killin it! The design is no joke, super modern in a cozy and inviting way. Great ambient study music. I love love their turf grass, beanbag chairs, super high ceilings, and nook-like, yet spacious layout. The guy I met at the counter was a sweetheart. For the time being, there is no a/c, which is a temporary deal killer for me. Apparently their building manager is holding it up — but it’s on it’s way! Can’t wait. Oasis in the hell that is midtown.

Still no air conditioning, which makes it hard to sweat it out during these painful NY summers. I ordered the Caffeinated Greek Yogurt($ 5). It was thick, CREAMY coffee-flavored yogurt, topped with a couple banana slices, and a sprinkling of coconut flakes and chocolate shavings. I would absolutely order this again as it was absolutely delicious. I finally got to try their decaf as well which was pretty excellent, but expensive at $ 4.25.

A great new work café in town! Very spacious with a great selection of drinks and food(if you go at the right hour). Food isn’t served all day. I went during a Saturday afternoon and the kitchen bar was closed. However, they were willing to make me an avocado toast($ 7). I was MINDBLOWN by this toast! Sliced avocado with shallots topped with sunflower seeds, a sprinkle of sea salt and a drizzle of slightly spicy and garlicky oil all piled up on a thick and warm slice of Balthazar toast. Absolutely finger-licking delicious. For drinks, I tried the tarragon lemonade(quite refreshing) and the cold brew(comparably not as bitter with a sweet aftertaste). I thought the drinks were pretty standard, nothing that special. They sell a bunch of random hipster snacks and chips, as well. Pretty good selection of goodies for long period of time café stayers! Bean bags chairs are available, as well a ping pong table in the back. Pretty cool and chilled spot! My only complaint is that there was no AC on a hot summer day. I felt a bit stuffy and uncomfortable sitting there after awhile. Hopefully, this is a temporary condition because otherwise coffee bruins rocks!

Great open space and I love the coffee here. I come here whenever I need to rest from doing intense shopping in the area haha. There’s an area with bean bags if you want to lay down to relax. Otherwise, there are plenty of other seating all over the place. Come here with a buddy to play ping pong! The table in the front is probably more used as a table(there are some hot sauce and other condiments) but I’ve definitely heard some competitive ping pong going on from the back table. The bathroom walls are mirrors and it’s cool looking an infinite amount of yourself. By the way, there are two separate lines for food and coffee. I don’t know how I feel about that since I haven’t had a chance to try the food but I guess you basically need to pay and wait twice? Good thing there’s never really a line or a crowd. I will try the food the next time since they have a pretty good variety.

I just happened upon this place on my way to inspect(its my job) a local restaurant. I was so pleasantly surprised at the food here, but I’ll start on the décor. I actually liked the minimalist surroundings. Cool music, art, and a ping pong table in the rear. I ordered a sort of omelet that was excellent. It had a mix of quinoa, kale, egg, bell peppers, hot spices, mushrooms served in a bowl. It was so good and healthy. The clientele are kind of in their own computerized world so you really won’t be socializing with anyone, but wow great food.

This is my new go-to lunch spot during the week. I just love being there — it has high ceilings, eclectic design(thunk Chelsea art gallery), and great music(mix of 80s, old school hip hop, electronica, etc). Potted plants and astro turf give it an indoor –outdoor feel. Most important, it has a top-notch array of lunch bowls/salads, many of them vegan/veggie. The ingredients and food combos are so delicious and inventive — I dream about the food all morning at work. A refreshing change from crowded, mediocre midtown salad bars.

Sign outside said«a coffee shop that doesn’t suck,» and I agree. Service was subpar by one employee, which was disappointing. The other girl was nice though. Cold brew was amazing, and the brownie was very good. Chill atmosphere and good music is the best part about this place. Love the beanbags and large people-watching windows.

I love the coffee here, and the Barista knows her shit. So far the food I have had is good, think upscale chipotle or Roast Kitchen. The energy is fun, bean bag chairs are nice too. Music is hit or miss, but I love the place.

Certainly a uniquely decorated space. All the furniture is wood with a coat of bright paint. Tables made to look like ping pong and foose all tables are repurposed as seating areas. There’s also a turf area with bean bags you can sit on which is an interesting experience. Definitely has a kiddish, fort-like feel. It would be a much better summer hang out if it had AC. Good coffee and good wifi though.

I feel like it’s still too early for me to pass fair judgment on this newcomer to the area, but I really think it has so much potential, and let’s face it we’re just dying for something like this to come along and change our lunch game, right? Wide open space, super minimal yet eclectic décor, I liked how the pottery on display is also for sale. Ping pong table and bean bags are a cool twist and welcome change from the same old lunch spot. While I wasn’t in the mood for coffee today, I tried they Smoked Chicken & Kale Toss and thought it was delicious. Loved the pickled daikon and feta cheese, everything tasted fresh and healthy. Prices are typical of other places like Sweetgreen, Dig Inn, etc. As others have mentioned, there are still a few kinks that need to be ironed out, but I’m still really excited about this place opening here

Coffee Bruins is exactly what this *boring* area needed. The interior has a unique aesthetic that graphic designers such as myself will appreciate. The wide open collaborative space and the giant red bean bag chairs are awesome. I’ve only had the iced latte and cold brew but both were very good. Standard price for cold coffee beverages in NYC. The employees are very friendly and on my first day the dude at the register stamped my frequent buyer card with 3 stamps… sweet! The food is VERY fresh and healthy; big portions too. This is my new lunch break spot. Oh yeah, and the ping pong table is a fun touch.

I really enjoying spending time in this space and can’t wait till the renovation finishes. With a super high ceiling, huge drop down windows, just enough seatings create an airy and bright environment to chill, especially after a busy day at work. At the center of super busy location in the city, the place is offers a good and affordable get away. I had an ice coffee, I’m not a big coffee drinker, so I’m not a credible coffee commenter, but I don’t hate it, that’s a good start. Unfortunately, only earl grey tea is offered, but worry not, there are some juice drinks by the counter. I’m hoping the drink menu can expand more. The place also have food menu if you like to snack a little. The people that comes here looks like more artsy and creative, I guess that’s a given judging from the unique layout and décor of the place. Have I mention their music? It’s a bonus when you are tired of listening to top 40 or edm. Given a 3 star right now, but once the renovation finished and more drinks to the menu, definitely a good potential of 5 star.

THEIRCOLDBREWISLIFFFFEEEEEE —— Seriously. Get the cold brew. Don’t put ANYTHING in it to muck it up. It’s that good. You’re welcome. (really, i don’t need to say anything else. The space is beautiful, the staff is kind and gracious, and you should go. like, right now.)

Food is great and the staff is super friendly. We told them we are working on our own startup and they welcomed us to work out of the space whenever we want and invited us to a fundraising event. And there’s ping pong tables :)

So, it’s *definitely* a soft open — keep that in mind — as equipment for the main brewers etc. is still coming in, limiting the coffee choices for those of us who like the unsophisticated, straight deal a little more than the espresso combo drinks, but with that said — it’s a space that is delightfully out of place for Herald Sq(and even NYC as a whole) because it has LOTS of it. Open floor plan, a lot of raw pine benches, stools, tables, appropriated ping pong equipment, and huge, plus red bean bag chairs. Free WiFi, a decent number of outlets, and open till either 9p or 10p every night. It’s a kind of nordic pop minimalist in its décor, which can be either a turn-on or a turn-off, depending on what you’re looking for, but the space feels really chill — the staff are patient and friendly and relaxed, and I don’t doubt this space will start to fill up once people realize it’s here(as it’s presently only been here for one week). I got a single-source pour-over, which was quite delightful; they have a selection of four coffees for pour-overs, and they have a food bar, offering a series of raw food toppings(and a couple of cooked proteins like shredded chicken) over nachos, salad, or rice. The regular coffee(once their machine is hooked up) runs you $ 3 for what amounts to around a Starbucks«grande» size-wise. The food is all pretty much $ 11, which makes the prices here a touch steep, but in-line with other area coffeehouses(like Gregory’s down the street). Will have to see how this place pans out in a few months time. Definitely a decent coffice for sure, or will be once they have all their ducks in a row.

Am I in an Urban Outfitters store or a coffee shop?! So I know this place is currently in its soft open but I gave it a shot this morning. Was bummed to find out there’s no breakfast items yet because the menu looks pretty good. Lots of space, but the terrible flourescent lighting is a turnoff in the AM. My large(it looked like 14 – 16 oz) cold brew came out to almost $ 5, which I think is pretty steep. Going to give this place another try in a few weeks. Hopefully the food will wow me into giving it 4 stars!

Great new coffee spot with healthy eats. Large, airy, inviting space with an artsy feel. Had a cup of my first pour over coffee with a delicious kangunu coffee from Embu, Kenya and my teen had a nice sweet spot espresso with floral and ginger aromatics. We liked the long communal tables and stools and the large bean bags with small tables lining another area. Soon to come … a back room with ping pong!
