This location is pathetic. I’ve been here twice and each time it seemed like being there was an inconvenience to the staff. I was told that they had no milk out for customers because they were about to close over and hour and a half before closing time. I’m sorry is it too much work to put out more half and half or even give me some from behind the counter? Also all you have is non fat milk in the entire store? Decent coffee and facility but lazy staff…

When it comes to coffee, my basic rule is quality over quantity. This place rocks! I don’t get coffee very often, and I don’t drink tea period, so I therefore am not here very often. However, I do get the occasional craving for a hot beverage or a caffeine fix. As much as I like Starbucks and have no complaints about them, this place is a nice change from it(if I happen to be nearby). This particular location is spacious and I received delightful service from the employees. Their other location, on Bleecker Street, tends to be crowded often, making it difficult to find seating sometimes. Their dark chocolate latte is hands-down my favorite drink. It balances well with the espresso, adding a rich, sweet taste. Even with an extra shot of espresso, it’s nice and chocolatey. The white chocolate latte is also delicious. Both are much more flavorful than the same type of beverage at other coffee establishments, so if you don’t like your drinks overly rich or sweet, you may want to try something different here. I consider the prices fair. They are pretty much on par with Starbucks, maybe a bit lower. The size you’re getting for the price is also reasonable.

Inconsistent. Bottom line is it’s not a bad place, but it’s not the best either. The staff can be nice and helpful, but they are more often a little rude and seem like they are being bothered. I like the small ice they use and that they will give me a smaller size iced coffee in a larger cup w/extra ice w/o charging me extra or giving me a hard time. If you want something sweet like an iced coffee frozen drink thing, I think they do a lot of those. But their hot coffees are just ok. I asked for one pump of a caramel today and got charged for it and don’t think I got it. The coffee tasted like nothing and didn’t have a strong coffee taste — so maybe it’s a light roast or was made to be weak? They give free water in a cooler where you pick up your coffee. Usually it’s a bit of a mess in there from being in a busy area and they seem under staffed so there is no one cleaning up. Service can be slow, especially in the morning — there is a long wait. They have a bathroom for customers. You need a code to use it. Prices are a little cheaper than Starbucks but still not cheap. Their bakery case is often a little sparse and everything is huge — so not a good place to try to get a small sweet snack and a coffee.

They have the best Hot Chocolate and better ice coffee than Starbucks however their matcha latte could be better. Starbucks does it best when it comes to matcha latte. The seatings are open space but with a strict outside food policy.

Great ice tea, but my large is more ice than tea and cost $ 2.99. Also, a warm day and no air conditioning. I’m not coming back.

Better coffee than Starbucks. I promise you. And more reasonable selections and service. I am a beam addict.

If you’re about that pretentious life of overpriced coffee and nasty attitude, this is the place for you! At least they give you free water and has a bathroom the size of your whole apartment :)

Most of the staff just mumble incoherently without making eye contact. There is one barista who my coworkers call«the Buffoon» who is a strange mix of aggressive and incompetent, for example, will yell out your order as if it’s something you get everyday, but the order will be something you have never ordered in your life. That is, when there are baristas present at all. I went in the other evening and there was no one there at all! The coffee is great though.

I came here because I had a meeting in the area and somehow got there 20 minutes early. Starbucks was full, so I came here. It was a delightful surprise! Pretty comfortable, great chai latte, and free wifi. Other people told me that it’s usually crowded, but I didn’t experience that when I went. If I ever find myself stuck in the neighborhood, I’ll go again.

They’ve always been nice and get my order right. The coffee and pastries are good for this sort of thing. Much more comfortable and cleaner than Starbucks.

This store is part of a rapidly-expanding chain; I believe the first location is the one on Bleecker street, and they’ve been around now for about 50 years. This one, a block or so away from City Hall Park, is in a prime location.(Psst! They have an accessible bathroom!) I got a soy chai latte here yesterday that was very good, if a little sweet.(The only chai I’ve ever had that wasn’t overly sweet was the one where I was told to add my own sugar.) It was very good, though – possibly a sign of things to come. The space is huge and service is friendly. Again, this is a great location to come and hang out.

I get having a set-up that maybe encourages conversation over turning the coffee shop into your office, but the giant black chairs end up making it so a chat can be between two people at most(with no table between them), with the third person sitting separately a table. A large space to work with but none of it seems functional — maybe they forgot to consult with someone who lays out coffee shops for a living. but on a sunday they’re the only place around other than the starbucks to get coffee. their wifi hasn’t worked any time in the past 5 months i’ve stopped in.

I was never a Starbucks kinda gal cause of many reasons. First, long lines, almost always busy, every drink tastes like milk with sugar, etc. I really wanted to find a place where I can sit down, have a nice sip of something, and read, do my homework, or wait for class to start. I found the place! I don’t know what to make of it yet since i’ve only been here once, what i can say is that is way better than Starbucks. I had no idea what to order so I randomly ordered a green tea latte. Sat down and I started to do my homework. It’s a little pricey in my opinion but I can’t complain when there’s space for me to do my homework and just chill! I was there for about an hour and a half and I notice there was a lot of people around lunch time so it gets a bit loud at times. Besides that flaw the staff there are nice and patient when I didn’t know how to order. And they said my name right! yay! extra star for that. lol.

I ordered a birthday cake blended drink which didn’t taste like birthday cake but still delectable. I was asked if I wanted sprinkles and whipped cream and I declined the whipped cream but only a fool would decline the sprinkles. There weren’t any sprinkles on hand but I was offered M&M’s to compensate lol. I declined and had a seat. As others have stated it’s amazingly spacious. Large windows and windowsills to place your purse, bag or murse. They also have a bathroom in the back. The staff is super friendly. To think I was about to go into my beloved Potbelly when I’ve been dying to try this spot.

Popped in for a cappuccino around 9am on Columbus day. Cost around $ 3 and change for a small. It was unremarkable, not horrible, but not great. This store does have lots of sitting space and it was sleepy, only two people sitting at a table– and it’s storefront opens right onto Broadway. Lots of baked good options. I didn’t try any so I can’t say if they’re any good, but they’re definitely trying to gave Starbucks a little competition. I can’t say though that their product is superior.

Great new addition to the neighborhood, and a nice option for good coffee or tea other than Starbucks. The space is huge inside with lots of room to sit and work if necessary. Decent coffee and a large selection of tea. It’s new, so the staff is still friendly and helpful, and more than happy to walk you through the impressive menu. They also offer some food items like croissants, waffles, bagels, and cake, as well as some wraps and yogurt in the cooler section. It’s shiny, new, and super-clean, and I really hope it stays that way. I’ve been by a couple of times already and I haven’t had to wait in line at all, but that will probably change as everyone discovers this new little gem.
